    Doblemente huérfanas: artistas castellanas en la plástica de postguerra

    Mª Cecilia Martín (1920-2020), Mª Francisca Dapena (1924-1995), Petra Hernández (1925-2014), Ana Jiménez (1926-2013), Castorina F. Francisco (1928-2019), Ana Mª García Cavero (1932-), Herminia de Lucas (1934-2015), Isabel Villar (1934-), Blanca Prieto (1934-), Gloria Torner (1934-), Teresa Gancedo (1937-) y Gloria Alcahud (1937-)… no están todas las que realmente son, pero sí una significativa muestra de artistas castellanoleonesas que iniciaron su andadura en la plástica española de postguerra, viviendo una doble orfandad: huérfanas de privilegios por el mero hecho de ser mujeres; y huérfanas de un modelo sólido de mujer artista, en quien inspirarse. Todas ellas, junto a sus historias de vida y trayectorias artísticas, cuidadosamente tejidas, constituyen una genealogía femenina de artistas que sirve de referencia y/o herencia a otras generaciones posteriores de mujeres inmersas en el campo de las artes plásticas en España, y más concretamente en Castilla y León, para que comprueben que no son, ni están huérfanas.En conformidad con las condiciones del contrato de edición de "Ediciones Universidad de Valladolid", esta monografía se publicará inicialmente en papel.     Effect of Supervised over Self-Performed Eccentric Exercise on Lateral Elbow Tendinopathy: A Pilot Study

    Background: The efficacy of eccentric exercise self-performed by the patient has not been proved in the treatment of lateral elbow tendinopathy (LET). The aim of this study was to compare the effects of a programme of eccentric exercises applied by a physiotherapist to patients with LET through a structured manual programme compared to its self-performance, guided by an illustrated brochure. Method: A single-blind, pilot, randomised, controlled trial was conducted. Twenty patients were randomised. The intervention group carried out eccentric exercises applied directly by a physiotherapist (10 sessions). The control group carried out eccentric exercises that were self-performed by the patient (10 sessions). Both groups received simulated ultrasounds. Pain (visual analogue scale (VAS)), function (DASH questionnaire) and satisfaction (with a Likert scale) were measured at the beginning of the intervention, immediately after the intervention and 3 months after the intervention. Results: The mean age was 53.17 and 54.25 years old. The experimental group presented a greater tendency to improve function (DASH −15.91) and reduce pain (VAS −2.88) compared to the control group, although these differences were not significant (p > 0.05). Conclusion: Eccentric exercise, both performed by the physiotherapist and self-performed by the patient, improved function and pain in the patients with LET.Partial funding for open access charge: Universidad de Málag

    Nursing diagnoses of individuals with myalgic encephalomyelitis /chronic fatigue syndrome: research protocol for a qualitative synthesis

    Although previously developed qualitative studies have explored the experience of illness of individuals with myalgic encephalomyelitis/chronic fatigue syndrome, these findings have not been undertaken for the purpose of enabling the identification of nursing care needs in such patients. This study aims to identify NANDA-I nursing diagnoses of adults with myalgic encephalomyelitis/chronic fatigue syndrome based on a qualitative literature review of their experience of illness. The protocol includes: searches in the electronic databases Medline, Embase, CINAHL, PsycINFO, SCI-EXPANDED, SSCI, SciELO, LILACS, and Cuiden; and manual searches in specialised journals and the references of the included studies. The authors will systematically search qualitative research studies published in databases from 1994 to 2021. Searches are limited to studies in Spanish and English. All stages of the review process will be carried out independently by two reviewers. Any disagreements shall be resolved through joint discussions, involving a third reviewer if necessary. The findings will be synthesised into a thematic analysis informed by the Domains and Classes of the NANDA-I Classification of Nursing Diagnoses, which will then serve to identify nursing diagnoses. This review will enable nursing professionals to identify the care needs of individuals with myalgic encephalomyelitis/chronic fatigue syndrome by taking into consideration their experience of illness in its entiret

    Genomic characterisation of respiratory syncytial virus: a novel system for whole genome sequencing and full-length G and F gene sequences

    To advance our understanding of respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) impact through genomic surveillance, we describe two PCR-based sequencing systems, (i) RSVAB-WGS for generic whole-genome sequencing and (ii) RSVAB-GF, which targets major viral antigens, G and F, and is used as a complement for challenging cases with low viral load.     Critical requirement of SOS1 for tumor development and microenvironment modulation in KRASG12D-driven lung adenocarcinoma

    The impact of genetic ablation of SOS1 or SOS2 is evaluated in a murine model of KRASG12D-driven lung adenocarcinoma (LUAD). SOS2 ablation shows some protection during early stages but only SOS1 ablation causes significant, specific long term increase of survival/lifespan of the KRASG12D mice associated to markedly reduced tumor burden and reduced populations of cancer-associated fibroblasts, macrophages and T-lymphocytes in the lung tumor microenvironment (TME). SOS1 ablation also causes specific shrinkage and regression of LUAD tumoral masses and components of the TME in pre-established KRASG12D LUAD tumors. The critical requirement of SOS1 for KRASG12D-driven LUAD is further confirmed by means of intravenous tail injection of KRASG12D tumor cells into SOS1KO/KRASWT mice, or of SOS1-less, KRASG12D tumor cells into wildtype mice. In silico analyses of human lung cancer databases support also the dominant role of SOS1 regarding tumor development and survival in LUAD patients.
