    Web 3.0 y Blockchain en la Educación Secundaria

    La evolución de la Web hasta la que se considera su edición 3.0 viene definida por un cambio de mentalidad descentralizadora que defiende que los datos de los usuarios no deberían estar en manos de una sola corporación o administración central, sino que su control debe devolverse a los usuarios. Para este fin, han surgido una serie de tecnologías relacionadas a esta Web 3.0, como la tecnología blockchain. En este trabajo se define qué es la Web 3.0, la blockchain y otras tecnologías asociadas, y se estudia el estado del arte de la aplicación de estas tecnologías en el ámbito de la educación. Finalmente, y debido a la falta de bibliografía al respecto en el ámbito de la educación secundaria, en este trabajo se sugieren tres propuestas de implementación de estas tecnologías de la Web 3.0 en la etapa de educación secundaria en España.The evolution of the Web toward what’s considered its 3.0 version it’s defined by a decentralizing mindset that argues that user’s data shouldn’t be in the hands of a single corporation or centralized administration, but its control should be returned to the users. In this work Web 3.0, blockchain and other related technologies are defined, and the state-of-the-art of the application of these technologies on the education field is studied.     Sludge treatment wetland for treating microalgae digestate grown in agricultural runoff: a technical, economic, and environmental assessment

    The management and disposal of wastewater treatment sludge can be a costly and resource-intensive process. To provide a cost-effective and sustainable alternative, Sludge Treatment Wetlands (STW) have emerged as a viable solution for enhancing sludge quality through dewatering and biodegradation. In this study, the effectiveness of a full-scale STW for stabilizing and dewatering digested microalgal biomass from a domestic and agricultural wastewater treatment system was evaluated. The properties of the treated digestate in the STW were assessed after 35 weeks of operation and a resting period of 4 weeks. The dry matter content was found to be 12.8%, and the average macronutrient content was K: 3.8 mg/g DW, P: 4.9 mg/g DW, and Ca: 95 mg/g DW. The highest contents of micronutrients were for Fe: 7.8 mg/g DW and Mg: 7.6 mg/g DW, while heavy metals and pathogen contents were below the EC limits for sewage sludge reuse in agriculture. The STW was found to be a cost-effective and environmentally friendly option for treating mixed wastewater-based sludge for land application. The STW outperformed reference systems using centrifuge dewatering techniques, particularly in terms of eutrophication potential and acidification potential. However, the STW’s economic performance was slightly worse than that of the dewatering system in terms of unit production cost. This study is the first in the literature to investigate the use of STW for treating digested microalgae and its possible reuse in arable land, suggesting that STW infrastructures have great potential for the development of sustainable and eco-friendly sludge treatment technologies.This research was funded by the European Commission (H2020 project INCOVER, GA 689242).     Prevalence and distribution of infectious and parasitic agents in roe deer from Spain and their possible role as reservoirs

    In order to provide up-to-date information about the prevalence of infectious and parasitic agents in Spanish roe deer (Capreolus capreolus), samples from 93 animals hunted from January 2013 to April 2015 were collected and analysed by parasitological, serological and molecular techniques. Sampled animals came from four roe deer populations corresponding to Oceanic, Continental, Mediterranean and Mountainous ecosystems of Spain. Data regarding sex, age and year were also considered. A high percentage of roe deer (95.7%) resulted positive for at least one agent. Sarcocystis spp. was the most frequently diagnosed genus (88.8%), followed by gastrointestinal nematodes (62.9%) and Schmallenberg virus (53.5%). Varestrongylus capreoli (38%), Anaplasma phagocitophylum (34.2%), Eimeria spp. (29.2%), Toxoplasma gondii (25%) and Cephenemyia stimulator (23.8%) displayed medium prevalences and, finally low percentages were registered for Moniezia spp. (6.7%), Dictyocaulus noerneri (2.4%) and Mycobacterium avium subsp. paratuberculosis (1.5%). No infections by Neospora caninum, Bovine herpesvirus, pestivirus or Coxiella burnetii were found. Climate was significantly associated with the prevalence of T. gondii, C. stimulator and A. phagocitophylum, with higher prevalences in animals from Oceanic and Mediterranean areas. Our results suggest that infections affecting Spanish roe deer, especially those of parasitic aetiology, represent one of the causes of the descent in the abundance of this ungulate in the last years.     Genomic Characterization of Host Factors Related to SARS-CoV-2 Infection in People with Dementia and Control Populations: The GR@ACE/DEGESCO Study

    Emerging studies have suggested several chromosomal regions as potential host genetic factors involved in the susceptibility to SARS-CoV-2 infection and disease outcome. We nested a COVID-19 genome-wide association study using the GR@ACE/DEGESCO study, searching for susceptibility factors associated with COVID-19 disease. To this end, we compared 221 COVID-19 confirmed cases with 17,035 individuals in whom the COVID-19 disease status was unknown. Then, we performed a meta-analysis with the publicly available data from the COVID-19 Host Genetics Initiative. Because the APOE locus has been suggested as a potential modifier of COVID-19 disease, we added sensitivity analyses stratifying by dementia status or by disease severity. We confirmed the existence of the 3p21.31 region (LZTFL1, SLC6A20) implicated in the susceptibility to SARS-CoV-2 infection and TYK2 gene might be involved in COVID-19 severity. Nevertheless, no statistically significant association was observed in the COVID-19 fatal outcome or in the stratified analyses (dementia-only and non-dementia strata) for the APOE locus not supporting its involvement in SARS-CoV-2 pathobiology or COVID-19 prognosis

    El objetivo de este trabajo es diseñar un dispositivo portable capaz de tomar mediciones de constantes médicas y vitales de una persona y enviarlas a un dispositivo móvil, donde se mostrarán las lecturas tomadas. El trabajo pretende abarcar los diferentes aspectos aprendidos durante el grado, desde los fundamentos teóricos, pasando por la electrónica, la programación y el desarrollo de una aplicación para dispositivos móviles. Se ha planteado el trabajo como un proyecto de aprendizaje en el cual se explicarán los distintos pasos que se han ido dando, así como los problemas y errores surgidos en el mismo y sus posibles correcciones.The main goal of this work is to design a portable device able to take medical and vital signs measurements from a person and send them to a mobile device, where those data readings would be displayed. This work tries to embrace the different aspects learnt during the grade, from the theorical foundations, through electronics, the programming and the developement of an app for mobile devices.     Anexo Memoria en C-Innov.25En el trabajo se realiza un análisis del hecho publicitario desde diversos puntos de vista aportados desde tres áreas del currículum de la ESO como son Lengua castellana, Ciencias Sociales y Plástica, para servir de orientación al profesorado a la hora de abordar este tema, bien llevándolo a la práctica docente tal y como se propone o bien adaptándolo a sus necesidades. El objetivo final es fomentar en el alumnado una actitud crítica ante el hecho publicitario y lo que conlleva en la sociedad actual sin menoscabo del disfrute de su dimensión creativa. La idea original que impulsó la realización de este proyecto surgió de la necesidad de desarrollar el currículum de una nueva asignatura optativa denominada imagen y expresión y que se concretó y enriqueció al centrar el trabajo en el hecho publicitario tratado interdisciplinarmente. El trabajo se presenta en cuatro volúmenes, cada uno de ellos con un contenido propio y bien diferenciado pero a la vez que se complementan y se relacionan, ya que comparten los objetivos generales y el enfoque transversal. Cada volúmen se centra en un aspecto concreto de la publicidad: el volúmen 1 recoge la definición y las funciones de la publicidad, así como las agencias, campañas y medios publicitarios; el volúmen 2 el tema la publicidad y su lenguaje; el volúmen 3 los elementos de la imagen en publicidad y el volúmen 4 significación e interpretación del mendaje publicitario.     Down syndrome as risk factor for respiratory syncytial virus hospitalization : A prospective multicenter epidemiological study

    Respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) infection in childhood, particularly in premature infants, is associated with significant morbidity and mortality. To compare the hospitalization rates due to RSV infection and severity of disease between infants with and without Down syndrome (DS) born at term and without other associated risk factors for severe RSV infection. In a prospective multicentre epidemiological study, 93 infants were included in the DS cohort and 68 matched by sex and data of birth (±1 week) and were followed up to 1 year of age and during a complete RSV season. The hospitalization rate for all acute respiratory infection was significantly higher in the DS cohort than in the non-DS cohort (44.1% vs 7.7%, P<.0001). Hospitalizations due to RSV were significantly more frequent in the DH cohort than in the non-DS cohort (9.7% vs 1.5%, P=.03). RSV prophylaxis was recorded in 33 (35.5%) infants with DS. The rate of hospitalization according to presence or absence of RSV immunoprophylaxis was 3.0% vs 15%, respectively. Infants with DS showed a higher rate of hospitalization due to acute lower respiratory tract infection and RSV infection compared to non-DS infants. Including DS infants in recommendations for immunoprophylaxis of RSV disease should be considered

    El proyecto de innovación docente titulado Herramientas de Inteligencia Artificial para la docencia y el aprendizaje en Comunicación: retos, posibilidades, netetiquetas, aborda las herramientas de IA para conocer y explotar sus posibilidades en estudios de Comunicación, desde una perspectiva ética, deontológica, creativa y de empoderamiento para la docencia y el aprendizaje en las aulas. ChatGPT ha actualizado y avivado los retos y problemas que la Inteligencia Artificial puede llevar a las aulas. Como modelo de lenguaje avanzado, basado en inteligencia artificial, el chat Generative Pre-trained Transformer es una herramienta muy útil para la generación de textos. Sin embargo, los docentes advierten sus contradicciones y peligros: al ser un modelo generativo, puede generar textos aleatorios o irrelevantes; los estudiantes pueden utilizarlo para hacer trabajos sin apenas esfuerzo, mermando sus capacidades de lectura, redacción y autoaprendizaje; y el fraude, no detectable por los tradicionales programas de antiplagio, hace que sea casi indetectable. No obstante, este proyecto quiere analizar esos problemas para educar a profesorado y alumnado en la búsqueda de las herramientas positivas que la IA y ChatGPT, entre otras inteligencias artificiales, pueden brindarnos. Para ello, se analizará la famosa herramienta (en su recién estrenada versión 4.0 al cierre de esta solicitud) y otras herramientas de IA que son útiles para la docencia, aprendizaje y preparación profesional de estudiantes de Comunicación (Lumen5, Hugging Face, Canva, CopyAI, Prismas, Jasper, Artssy, Runway, Fliki, Resemble, Capcut, Gradescope, Scribble Diffusion, Midjourney, Wombo, Crayon, Grammarly, Deepl entre otras). Todas ellas conforman el proceso creativo completo de creación de textos y contenidos de comunicación, con todos los posibles ingredientes: texto, imagen, vídeo, voz, avatares, ilustraciones, dibujos, interacciones. No se pretende que la máquina trabaje por el comunicador, sino que la máquina inspire, guíe y corrija un contenido humano y humanizado.The teaching innovation project entitled Artificial Intelligence Tools for teaching and learning in Communication: challenges, possibilities, netiquette, addresses AI tools in order to learn about and exploit their possibilities in Communication studies, from an ethical, deontological, creative and empowering perspective for teaching and learning in the classroom. ChatGPT has updated and enlivened the challenges and problems that Artificial Intelligence can bring to the classroom. As an advanced, AI-based language model, the chat Generative Pre-trained Transformer is a very useful tool for text generation. However, teachers warn of its contradictions and dangers: being a generative model, it can generate random or irrelevant texts; students can use it to do work with little effort, undermining their reading, writing and self-learning skills; and fraud, undetectable by traditional anti-plagiarism programmes, makes it almost undetectable. However, this project aims to analyse these problems in order to educate teachers and students in the search for the positive tools that AI and ChatGPT, among other artificial intelligences, can provide us with. To do so, we will analyse the famous tool (in its recently released version 4.0 at the closing of this application) and other AI tools that are useful for teaching, learning and professional preparation of Communication students (Lumen5, Hugging Face, Canva, CopyAI, Prismas, Jasper, Artssy, Runway, Fliki, Resemble, Capcut, Gradescope, Scribble Diffusion, Midjourney, Wombo, Crayon, Grammarly, Deepl among others). All of them make up the complete creative process of creating texts and communication content, with all the possible ingredients: text, image, video, voice, avatars, illustrations, drawings, interactions.
