Evidence for the strangeness-changing weak decay
Using a collision data sample corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 3.0~fb, collected by the LHCb detector, we present the first search for the strangeness-changing weak decay . No hadron decay of this type has been seen before. A signal for this decay, corresponding to a significance of 3.2 standard deviations, is reported. The relative rate is measured to be , where and are the and fragmentation fractions, and is the branching fraction. Assuming is bounded between 0.1 and
0.3, the branching fraction would lie in the range from to

Search for lepton-flavour-violating decays of Higgs-like bosons.
A search is presented for a Higgs-like boson with mass in the range 45 to 195 GeV/c2 decaying into a muon and a tau lepton. The dataset consists of proton-proton interactions at a centre-of-mass energy of 8 TeV , collected by the LHCb experiment, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 2 fb-1 . The tau leptons are reconstructed in both leptonic and hadronic decay channels. An upper limit on the production cross-section multiplied by the branching fraction at 95% confidence level is set and ranges from 22 pb for a boson mass of 45 GeV/c2 to 4 pb for a mass of 195 GeV/c2
Measurement of the CP-Violating Phase phi(s) in (B)over-bar(s)(0) -> Ds+Ds- Decays
We present a measurement of the CP-violating weak mixing phase phi(s) using the decay (B) over bar (0)(s) -> Ds+Ds- in a data sample corresponding to 3.0 fb(-1) of integrated luminosity collected with the LHCb detector in pp collisions at center-of-mass energies of 7 and 8 TeV. An analysis of the time evolution of the system, which does not use the constraint vertical bar lambda vertical bar = 1 to allow for the presence of CP violation in decay, yields phi(s) = 0.02 +/- 0.17(stat) +/- 0.02(syst) rad, vertical bar lambda vertical bar = 0.91(-0.15)(+0.18)(stat) +/- 0.02(syst). This result is consistent with the standard model expectation
Measurement of the mass and lifetime of the baryon
A proton-proton collision data sample, corresponding to an integrated
luminosity of 3 fb collected by LHCb at and 8 TeV, is used
to reconstruct , decays. Using the , decay mode for calibration, the lifetime ratio and absolute
lifetime of the baryon are measured to be \begin{align*}
\frac{\tau_{\Omega_b^-}}{\tau_{\Xi_b^-}} &= 1.11\pm0.16\pm0.03, \\
\tau_{\Omega_b^-} &= 1.78\pm0.26\pm0.05\pm0.06~{\rm ps}, \end{align*} where the
uncertainties are statistical, systematic and from the calibration mode (for
only). A measurement is also made of the mass difference,
, and the corresponding mass, which
yields \begin{align*} m_{\Omega_b^-}-m_{\Xi_b^-} &= 247.4\pm3.2\pm0.5~{\rm
MeV}/c^2, \\ m_{\Omega_b^-} &= 6045.1\pm3.2\pm 0.5\pm0.6~{\rm MeV}/c^2.
\end{align*} These results are consistent with previous measurements.Comment: 11 pages, 5 figures, All figures and tables, along with any

Search for the rare decays and
A search for the rare decay of a or meson into the final
state is performed, using data collected by the LHCb experiment
in collisions at and TeV, corresponding to an integrated
luminosity of 3 fb. The observed number of signal candidates is
consistent with a background-only hypothesis. Branching fraction values larger
than for the decay mode are
excluded at 90% confidence level. For the decay
mode, branching fraction values larger than are excluded at
90% confidence level, this is the first branching fraction limit for this
decay.Comment: All figures and tables, along with any supplementary material and

Evidence for an ηc(1S) π- resonance in B0→ ηc(1S) K+π- decays
A Dalitz plot analysis of B0→ηc(1S)K+π- decays is performed using data samples of pp collisions collected with the LHCb detector at centre-of-mass energies of √s=7, 8 and 13TeV, corresponding to a total integrated luminosity of 4.7fb-1. A satisfactory description of the data is obtained when including a contribution representing an exotic ηc(1S) π- resonant state. The significance of this exotic resonance is more than three standard deviations, while its mass and width are 4096±20-22+18MeV and 152±58-35+60MeV, respectively. The spin-parity assignments JP= 0+ and JP= 1- are both consistent with the data. In addition, the first measurement of the B0→ηc(1S)K+π- branching fraction is performed and givesB(B0→ηc(1S)K+π-)=(5.73±0.24±0.13±0.66)×10-4,where the first uncertainty is statistical, the second systematic, and the third is due to limited knowledge of external branching fractions
Constraints on the unitarity triangle angle from Dalitz plot analysis of decays
The first study is presented of CP violation with an amplitude analysis of
the Dalitz plot of decays, with , and . The analysis is based on a data sample corresponding to
of collisions collected with the LHCb detector. No
significant CP violation effect is seen, and constraints are placed on the
angle of the unitarity triangle formed from elements of the
Cabibbo-Kobayashi-Maskawa quark mixing matrix. Hadronic parameters associated
with the decay are determined for the first time. These
measurements can be used to improve the sensitivity to of existing and
future studies of the decay.Comment: All figures and tables, along with any supplementary material and

A new algorithm for identifying the flavour of mesons at LHCb
A new algorithm for the determination of the initial flavour of
mesons is presented. The algorithm is based on two neural networks and exploits
the hadron production mechanism at a hadron collider. The first network is
trained to select charged kaons produced in association with the meson.
The second network combines the kaon charges to assign the flavour and
estimates the probability of a wrong assignment. The algorithm is calibrated
using data corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 3 fb collected
by the LHCb experiment in proton-proton collisions at 7 and 8 TeV
centre-of-mass energies. The calibration is performed in two ways: by resolving
the - flavour oscillations in
decays, and by analysing flavour-specific
decays. The tagging power measured in decays is found
to be \%, which is an
improvement of about 50\% compared to a similar algorithm previously used in
the LHCb experiment.Comment: All figures and tables, along with any supplementary material and
