Publishing as a subject of the creative industries in the context of its economic performance and protection of intellectual property rights

Creativity has been considered a new type of competitive advantage in recent years. It becomes the basis of a new direction, a new economic paradigm - creative economy. The aim of this paper is to evaluate the economic performance of creative industries in the publishing segment. The indicator dependence of profit on sales, with the exception of other publishing activities (issuing stamps, checks, banknotes, etc.), reaches Multiple R values close to 1, it confirms a strong addiction, it is moving in the range of 0.98-0.36. The strongest dependence is shown in other software publishing activities. The strong dependence of profit on sales is a signal for the companies to carefully monitor the causes of changes in their revenues, to use qualified tools to increase revenues such as discounts, rebates, delivery terms, etc. The dependence of profit on assets shows lower values, with the exception of publishing magazines and periodicals, Multiple R is in the range of 0.99-0.50. The protection of intellectual property thus becomes an elementary precondition for preserving the potential of the creative and cultural industries. There is a need to raise European citizens' awareness of the value of copyright, as well as the benefits for the development of a prosperous European legal market

Catalyzing Transcriptomics Research in Cardiovascular Disease : The CardioRNA COST Action CA17129

Cardiovascular disease (CVD) remains the leading cause of death worldwide and, despite continuous advances, better diagnostic and prognostic tools, as well as therapy, are needed. The human transcriptome, which is the set of all RNA produced in a cell, is much more complex than previously thought and the lack of dialogue between researchers and industrials and consensus on guidelines to generate data make it harder to compare and reproduce results. This European Cooperation in Science and Technology (COST) Action aims to accelerate the understanding of transcriptomics in CVD and further the translation of experimental data into usable applications to improve personalized medicine in this field by creating an interdisciplinary network. It aims to provide opportunities for collaboration between stakeholders from complementary backgrounds, allowing the functions of different RNAs and their interactions to be more rapidly deciphered in the cardiovascular context for translation into the clinic, thus fostering personalized medicine and meeting a current public health challenge. Thus, this Action will advance studies on cardiovascular transcriptomics, generate innovative projects, and consolidate the leadership of European research groups in the field.COST (European Cooperation in Science and Technology) is a funding organization for research and innovation networks (www.cost.eu)

The Strategy of Ukrainian migrants in the labor market of the Czech Republic

Ve své bakalářské práci se zabývám problematikou života ukrajinských pracovních migrantů na českém trhu práce. Mým hlavním cílem bylo identifikovat "strategie přežití", které si migranti utvářejí v rámci každodenního života na české trhu práce. Case Study reclamation of the quarry Silvestr in the Sokolov, or the path from the quarry to golf

This diploma thesis deals with the issue of public participation in deciding activities of reclamation. I chose former quarry Silvester near Dolni Rychnov as my research area. This area was transformed into eighteen-holes golf grounds and wood grounds with sport and relax stuff during reclamation work. This thesis consist of theoretical, methodological and empirical section. Theoretical section introduce basic concept of recultivation, law regulating recultivation, conservation, restoration ecology as scientic field and last but not least Sokolov region as region with long tradition of recultivation. The Methodological part describes methods of practical research, which is essential part of this thesis. The Empirical section introduce results of my research. Vývojové tendencie a trendy v správání hypotekárnych trhov a trhov s bývaním v období nízkych úrokových sadzieb v Českej republike a vybraných krajinnách Európskej únie

The theme of this diploma thesis is the evaluation of the impact of very low (near zero, in the case of the ECB negative) interest rates at the housing market in the Czech Republic and Germany. The first part focuses on the transmission mecha- nism and a research of relevant literature. The second part reviews the impact of the repo rate on the mortgage lending rates and other mortgage market rates (EU- RIBOR, PRIBOR). The development of the basic macroeconomic indicators (GDP, unemployment, inflation) in relation to the housing and housing market situation is also being compared. Furthermore, the study focuses on the power that the owner occupation rate and the cost of rent in individual countries have in influence over the mortgage rate. Based on the results, conclusions are drawn regarding cur- rent developments at the housing markets

The protection of domain names through trademarks The main purpose of my thesis is to define a status of domain names from a legal standpoint and also to analyze the possibility of covering the protection of domain names through trademarks. Assuming that a domain name fulfills conditions stipulated by a law it may become a subject to trademark laws and can be registered as a trademark in the register kept by the Industrial Property Office. The thesis is composed of five chapters. The first part of introductory chapter focuses on the technical aspects of domain names and institutions directly related to domain names. It focuses on history of the Internet, IP addresses and DNS servers. The second part of the first chapter is devoted to the structure and registration of domain names and also to foreign institutions directly related to of the Internet and its domain names. The second chapter describes the status of domain names in the Czech legal system and compares the legislation of Act no. 40/1964 Coll., The Civil Code and Act no. 89/2012 Coll., The Civil Code, relating to domain names as the subject of civil relations. The puppet theater building in the center of Opava

The building of the puppet theatre in the centre of Opava is significant for its location and function. One of my goals was therefore to create a building with a distinctive character that will serve as a symbol of the entranceway to the city centre. As it encroaches on the land on which the Silesian Theatre building stands, my aim was to help this theatre in its design and to improve the condition of its not entirely satisfactory operating space. Outside the performance space, the theatre events create an opportunity for discussion, for sharing ideas that have no place in the normal daily routine. Analysis of market concentration in creative industry

For the companies the situation in the industry is important in terms of identification opportunities and threats that occur in the industry. Given the increasing competition should be monitored as concentration develops in the industry in which it operates. This article examines the use of the Herfindahl-Hirschman index and Concentration ratio in selected sectors of the creative industry. The development and degree of concentration in the sector is an essential factor characterizing the level of the competitive environment and its exact definition is based on the system of quantitative characteristics that are part of the analytical materials of the institutions dealing with the enforcement of competition rules in most developed economies
