An analysis of the use of passive voice in university students' writing narrative texts

The purpose of this research is to find out how the university students use passive voice in writing narrative text. This research wants to find out the kinds of passive voice that is used by university students in writing narrative texts and the purposes of passive voice that is used by university students in writing narrative texts. This research uses descriptive qualitative method. Data collection techniques which are used in this research are documentation, text analysis, and interviews. This research uses data analysis technique from Creswell which consists of six stages. This research found that there are three kinds of passive voice and three purposes of passive voice. The kinds of passive voice which are found are: passive with be, adjectival passive, and get passive. The purposes of passive voice which are found are: the receiver of the action is more important, the agent is unknown, and the agent is irrelevant

PENGARUH INTENSITAS BERMAIN GAME ONLINE DAN GENRE GAME ONLINE TERHADAP KEMAMPUAN PROBLEM SOLVING

Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh intensitas bermain game online dan genre game online terhadap kemampuan pemecahan masalah remaja. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian kuantitatif. Subjek penelitian ini berjumlah 158 responden dengan menggunakan teknik purposive sampling, pada populasi yaitu remaja berdomisili Jakarta yang bermain game online dengan genre RPG, menembak, balapan, dan strategi mulai dari awal pandemi. Data variabel penelitian didapatkan melalui kuesioner. Uji hipotesis pada penelitian ini menggunakan analisis regresi berganda dengan variabel dummy. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa nilai signifikansi intensitas bermain game online dan genre game online terhadap kemampuan pemecahan masalah dibawah nilai alpha yaitu 0,037 < 0,05. Kesimpulan penelitian ini adalah intensitas bermain game online dan genre game online memiliki pengaruh terhadap kemampuan pemecahan masalah pada remaja. Kemudian implikasi penelitian ini terhadap remaja yang bermain game online yaitu game online dapat dijadikan wadah untuk mengembangkan kemampuan pemecahan masalah dengan intensitas bermain game online yang rendah. Kemudian genre game online balapan dapat dijadikan sebagai sarana untuk melatih kemampuan pemecahan masalah, karena genre balapan memiliki pengaruh yang paling besar terhadap kemampuan pemecahan masalah dibandingkan genre lain yaitu RPG, menembak dan strategi. Purpose of this study was to determine the effect of the intensity of playing online games and online games genres on adolescent problem solving abilities. Methods of this study is quantitative research. The subjects of this study amounted to 158 respondents using a purposive sampling technique, in the population of teenagers who live in Jakarta who play online games with RPG, shooting, racing, and strategy genres starting from the beginning of the pandemic. The research variable data was obtained through a questionnaire. Hypothesis testing in this study using multiple regression analysis with dummy variables. Results showed that the significance value of the intensity of playing online games and online games genres on problem-solving abilities was below the alpha value, which was 0.037 <0.05. The conclusion of this study is that the intensity of playing online games and online game genres have an influence on problem solving abilities in adolescents. Then the implications of this research for adolescents who play online games, namely online games can be used as a way to develop problem solving skills with low intensity of playing online games. Then the online racing game genre can be used as a way to practice problem solving skills, because the racing genre has the greatest influence on problem solving abilities compared to other genres, namely RPG, shooting and strategy

Reformulasi Sintesis Bioplastik Berbahan Baku Kulit Singkong (Manihot esculenta) serta Analisis Sifat Fisiknya

Plastics are materials consisting of small molecules called monomers bonded to form larger molecules called polymers, and plastics are generally made from fossil fuel derivative products. Plastics have several favourable characteristics such as high elasticity, lightweight, and relatively low prices, making them highly reliable in various aspects. However, its increasing and unstoppable existence ends up polluting the environment. Therefore, there is a need for a breakthrough to develop environmentally-friendly plastics and have quality commensurate with commercial plastics. This research was proposed to modify the bioplastic formula made from cassava peel to obtain physical properties close to commercial plastics. The method for reformulating this bioplastic is to reduce the cyanide content in cassava peels and optimize the copolymerization process and the casting stages of bioplastics. According to the research results, the best interpretation of the physical properties of bioplastics is that they are processed at a temperature of 120 – 160; the addition of plasticizer as much as 5% (v/w) produces bioplastic with a strength of up to 15.190 mPa.PT. Penelitian ini bertujuan (1) menganalisis besarnya nilai tambah, (2)menganalisis profitabilitas, dan (3)menganalisis  titik impas usaha aneka kue kering pada Industri Rumah Tangga Intan Rahmadhani sebelum dan saat terjadinya pandemi covid-19. Penelitian menggunakan metode deskriptif, dengan studi kasus. Metode pengambilan responden menggunakan metode purposive sampling, yaitu Endah Sri Kurniawati selaku pemilik Industri Rumah Tangga Intan Rahmadhani. Data yang digunakan adalah data primer dan data sekunder. Teknik Pengumpulan data  dengan Wawancara, Observasi dan Dokumentasi. Metode analisis data dengan Analisis Nilai Tambah metode Hayami, Analisis profitabilitas, dan Analisis Titik Impas Aneka Kue Kering. Hasil Penelitian menunjukkan bahwa (1) nilai tambah aneka kue kering pada Industri Rumah Tangga Intan Rahmadhani mengalami penurunan saat terjadinya pandemi covid-19, (2) profitabilitas aneka kue kering pada Industri Rumah Tangga Intan Rahmadhani mengalami penurunan saat terjadinya pandemi covid-19, (3) titik impas aneka kue kering pada Industri Rumah Tangga Intan Rahmadhani mengalami peningkatan saat terjadinya pandemi covid-19

General considerations of the cosmological constant and the stabilization of moduli in the brane-world picture

We argue that the brane-world picture with matter-fields confined to 4-d domain walls and with gravitational interactions across the bulk disallows adding an arbitrary constant to the low-energy, 4-d effective theory -- which finesses the usual cosmological constant problem. The analysis also points to difficulties in stabilizing moduli fields; as an alternative, we suggest scenarios in which the moduli motion is heavily damped by various cosmological mechanisms and varying ultra-slowly with time.Comment: 5 pages, no figure

Gated communities and enviroment services : the nature appropriation in enterprises for high and high middle class in the metropolitan region of Campinas

Estes empreendimentos oferecidos, por vezes de forma ilegal, têm representado cada vez mais uma promessa de melhor qualidade de vida urbana a partir da adoção de um estilo de vida exclusivo e justificado por uma eventual fuga da violência urbana. Diante deste quadro nos questionamos sobre a dimensão do impacto ambiental destas estruturas urbanas no território e meio ambiente das cidades. Esta pesquisa baseia-se na hipótese de que o impacto da proliferação dos loteamentos fechados nas áreas metropolitanas interfere tanto nas áreas urbanas quanto nas rurbanas em sua sustentabilidade. Baseado nisto, temos como objetivos específicos: analisar os loteamentos fechados como um produto do mercado; tipificar como esses empreendimentos interferem na estrutura territorial da região metropolitana de Campinas; observar como se dá a oferta de serviços ambientais e quais substitutos são gerados no processo de apropriação da natureza. Com isso busca-se identificar de que forma as diferentes tipologias destes empreendimentos, estabelecem relações entre si formando um mosaico no território e como estas relações interferem na sustentabilidade dos serviços ambientais. Campaign in political marketing is a series of activities that have been planed, strategic and tactical in spreading a political meaning in the voters to make the candidate to be nominated a success. Political brand itself includes the &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 4p, namely product, promotion, price and placement. This paper examines how the development of campaigns in political marketing and how the emergence of advertising or what is called a political brand. By using descriptive qualitative analiysis, researches want to analyze the data by describing or describing the data collected properly related to compaigns in political marketing and political brands. The result of this study find that campaigns in political marketing can have positive and negative impacts on the election of candidates or candidacy related to politics and how this political brand is also beneficial for the owner of the advertisement who wants to be promoted

Sensitive determination of amlodipine besylate using bare/unmodified and DNA-modified screen-printed electrodes in tablets and biological fluids

The screen-printed technique is widely used as an efficient tool for electrochemical analysis in environment, clinical and agri-food areas. Significantly, it has the ability to transfer electrochemical laboratory experiments into the field. In the present work, we report a highly sensitive, simple, low-cost protocol for determination of amlodipine (AML) using bare/unmodified and DNA-modified screen-printed electrodes (SPEs). The immobilization of DNA molecules onto SPE offers promising robust and chemically stable molecular wires, which provides a unique opportunity for charge transfer processes. Consequently, the electroanalytical sensing of AML was explored at bare/unmodified and DNA-modified SPEs in a linear range between 0.066–1.0 μM and 0.066–2.0 μM with the detection limit (3σ) found to be 20.70 nM and 14.94 nM, whilst corresponding sensitivities of: 0.43 A L mol−1 and 4.23 A L mol−1 respectively. Although, the superior electrochemical signature of bare SPEs is evident, the immobilization of DNA onto SPEs enhances the sensitivity 10-times more than the bare SPEs. Furthermore, the optimized electroanalytical protocol using the unmodified SPEs, which requires no pre-treatment and electrode modification step, was then further applied to the determination of AML in real samples
