The organizational climate affects the performance of the staff of organizations and, consequently, the performance of the organization. In the field of sports management, few studies have addressed climate analysis from a comparative perspective considering the three sectors involved in sports management: public, private and associative. The motivation of this work comes as a result of this observed deficiency. To do this, a sample of 303 employees of sports organizations of the three sectors was obtained, and the Climate questionnaire PSCLADE C23 / 6 (García-Tascon, 2008) was administered. The results show a significantly lower climate perception by employees of public administration with respect to private and voluntary sector. In conclusion, we note that, while sharing object, belonging sector causes significant differences in the perception of Climate, evidence and potential areas for improvement

The acquisition of physical activity habits during adolescence is fundamental to guarantee its adherence throughout life. However, these levels decrease during this stage, with women experimenting a more significant decrease. This paper aims to analyze if there are significant differences in the variables related to the intention to be physically active between men and women and if there is a moderating effect of gender on the variables that predict this intention. The sample is composed of 256 adolescents, aged between 16 and 19 years, 55.50% of whom are men, and 44.50% women. The results show that there are statistically significant differences (p < 0.05), with boys showing higher scores in the intention, athletic identity, and in the strength, condition, and attractiveness. About the predictive variables of the intention, the gender moderates the relationships between the physical attractiveness, condition and strength with the perceived behavioral control (pcfmale-pcfmale = 0.44; −0.48 p < 0.001; 0.27, p < 0.05, respectively), and between the subjective norm and the intention to be physically active (pcmale-female = 0.33, p < 0.01). These results highlight the importance of considering gender when designing specific policies for the promotion of physical-sports practice among adolescents to reduce the existing gender gap

Credibility to attract, trust to stay: the mediating role of trust in improving brand congruence in sports services

This research aims to demonstrate the mediating role of brand trust in the relationship between credibility and users' congruence with a sports services brand. The analysis was carried out using EQS 6.3 to perform the four required steps of the analysis (and the Sobel test was conducted for a public sports service and a private sports service. The results confirm the full mediation effect of brand trust in the case of the private service and a partial mediation for the public service. Therefore, this study confirms that credibility, in the presence of trust, ceases to have an influence on the congruence of users with the brand, which suggests that credibility is important at an initial stage to attract the user, but at more advanced stages, trust must be developed to ensure that users are more congruent with the brand and can, therefore, be identified with it and be more loyal

The variable interest and, consequently, the enjoyment for PE is related to this objective and, therefore, it is a tool that is of vital interest for teachers of this subject. Therefore, the aims of this study are: (1) to find out students’ perceptions of the subject of PE, and (2) to analyse if there are relationships between the enjoyment for PE and different sociodemographic variables related to the perceptions about PE and the students own sporting habits, as well as in their near environment. For this purpose, a questionnaire consisting of different items previously validated in other studies was used. The sample was made by a group of students from the four years of Compulsory Secondary Education (ESO) in a rural school from Valencia, with a mean age of 13.78 (SD = 1.26) years. The results show that, in general, students have good perceptions of PE, giving this subject considerable importance. In addition, statistically significant relationships were found between the students’ enjoyment of PE and their parents’ physical-sports practice, the importance given by the students to the subject in the culture of the country, the teacher’s behaviour, and their own perceptions to the PE lessons. Therefore, these results may be of interest for PE teachers in order to increase students’ interest in these classes and improving their adherence to physical-sports practice.

Promoting Physical Activity Habits after Completing Secondary School: Does the Age Matter?

Physical inactivity is one of the most important problems in our society, especially during adolescence. During this stage of schooling, students practice physical activity in physical education classes, but after they finish school, many of them stop practicing it. This research aims to determine which variables predict the intention to practice physical activity after finishing secondary school and to discover the effect that age during adolescence has on these predictive variables. A questionnaire was administered to a sample of secondary school students. The results show that physical exercise identity influences the three antecedents of this theory, while the attitude towards the behaviour ( = 0.13; p < 0.05), perceived behavioural control ( = 0.46; p < 0.05), and physical self-concept ( = 0.41; p < 0.05), have a statistically significant influence on the intention to be physically active. Moreover, when the age is lower, is more important to develop a positive perceived behavioural control and physical exercise identity. Moreover, for younger male adolescents instead of the physical exercise itself, identity seems more important in developing a positive attitude towards behaviour. Likewise, in young female adolescents a low level of support from their close environment (subjective norm) leads to dropping out. The research concludes with the importance of including these variables in physical education classes to promote physical activity practice after completion of secondary school. Some practical implications are presented

Objectives: The objective of this study was to estimate the association between tocilizumab or corticosteroids and the risk of intubation or death in patients with coronavirus disease 19 (COVID-19) with a hyperinflammatory state according to clinical and laboratory parameters. Methods: A cohort study was performed in 60 Spanish hospitals including 778 patients with COVID-19 and clinical and laboratory data indicative of a hyperinflammatory state. Treatment was mainly with tocilizumab, an intermediate-high dose of corticosteroids (IHDC), a pulse dose of corticosteroids (PDC), combination therapy, or no treatment. Primary outcome was intubation or death; follow-up was 21 days. Propensity score-adjusted estimations using Cox regression (logistic regression if needed) were calculated. Propensity scores were used as confounders, matching variables and for the inverse probability of treatment weights (IPTWs). Results: In all, 88, 117, 78 and 151 patients treated with tocilizumab, IHDC, PDC, and combination therapy, respectively, were compared with 344 untreated patients. The primary endpoint occurred in 10 (11.4%), 27 (23.1%), 12 (15.4%), 40 (25.6%) and 69 (21.1%), respectively. The IPTW-based hazard ratios (odds ratio for combination therapy) for the primary endpoint were 0.32 (95%CI 0.22-0.47; p < 0.001) for tocilizumab, 0.82 (0.71-1.30; p 0.82) for IHDC, 0.61 (0.43-0.86; p 0.006) for PDC, and 1.17 (0.86-1.58; p 0.30) for combination therapy. Other applications of the propensity score provided similar results, but were not significant for PDC. Tocilizumab was also associated with lower hazard of death alone in IPTW analysis (0.07; 0.02-0.17; p < 0.001). Conclusions: Tocilizumab might be useful in COVID-19 patients with a hyperinflammatory state and should be prioritized for randomized trials in this situatio

Abstract: In recent years, there has been an extreme need to profile the users of sports facilities due to the growth in the sector, trying to be more and more competitive by adapting supply to demand (Nuviala et al., 2014). The aim of this study was to define the user’s profile, based on quality, sa- tisfaction, perceived value and future intentions, analyzing whether these vary according to gender, age and seniority level, in 481 members of three private sports centers. For this purpose, a questionnaire was administered and a t-test was carried out for independent samples and a group-to-group contrast study with the t-test of Scheffé and Tamhane’s test. The results indicated that the variables studied were more positive for the female par- ticipant, who was over 40 years old and had been in the center for less than a year
