    Este trabalho visa discutir o dinamismo da produção, extração e comercialização de dados no âmbito das redes sociais a partir das legislações de proteção de dados que buscam regular o uso destes dados no processo eleitoral e as lacunas deixadas pela referente lei. Além de mostrar como as corporações e pessoas influentes têm manipulado a população, usando suas informações de maneira imprudente para conquistarem posições de seus interesses. A metodologia utilizada é baseada no contexto histórico, bibliografias, reportagens e notícias. O texto expõe como as grandes corporações costumam agir para aumentar seu capital e sua influência, além de como os agentes políticos utilizam formas e artifícios ilegais para valorizarem suas imagens e seus discursos. Ao final do trabalho é possível concluir a importância do papel do Estado na regulamentação de leis que protejam o interesse de seus cidadãos, como por exemplo, a Lei Geral de Proteção de Dados, em detrimento de empresas que visam o lucro a qualquer custo

    Omega-9 Oleic Acid, the Main Compound of Olive Oil, Mitigates Inflammation during Experimental Sepsis

    The Mediterranean diet, rich in olive oil, is beneficial, reducing the risk of cardiovascular diseases and cancer. Olive oil is mostly composed of the monounsaturated fatty acid omega-9. We showed omega-9 protects septic mice modulating lipid metabolism. Sepsis is initiated by the host response to infection with organ damage, increased plasma free fatty acids, high levels of cortisol, massive cytokine production, leukocyte activation, and endothelial dysfunction. We aimed to analyze the effect of omega-9 supplementation on corticosteroid unbalance, inflammation, bacterial elimination, and peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor (PPAR) gamma expression, an omega-9 receptor and inflammatory modulator. We treated mice for 14 days with omega-9 and induced sepsis by cecal ligation and puncture (CLP). We measured systemic corticosterone levels, cytokine production, leukocyte and bacterial counts in the peritoneum, and the expression of PPAR gamma in both liver and adipose tissues during experimental sepsis. We further studied omega-9 effects on leukocyte rolling in mouse cremaster muscle-inflamed postcapillary venules and in the cerebral microcirculation of septic mice. Here, we demonstrate that omega-9 treatment is associated with increased levels of the anti-inflammatory cytokine IL-10 and decreased levels of the proinflammatory cytokines TNF-alpha and IL-1 beta in peritoneal lavage fluid of mice with sepsis. Omega-9 treatment also decreased systemic corticosterone levels. Neutrophil migration from circulation to the peritoneal cavity and leukocyte rolling on the endothelium were decreased by omega-9 treatment. Omega-9 also decreased bacterial load in the peritoneal lavage and restored liver and adipose tissue PPAR gamma expression in septic animals. Our data suggest a beneficial anti-inflammatory role of omega-9 in sepsis, mitigating leukocyte rolling and leukocyte influx, balancing cytokine production, and controlling bacterial growth possibly through a PPAR gamma expression-dependent mechanism. The significant reduction of inflammation detected after omega-9 enteral injection can further contribute to the already known beneficial properties facilitated by unsaturated fatty acid-enriched diets

    Case Report: Transcatheter aortic valve implantation using balloon-expandable bioprosthesis in patients with severe pure aortic regurgitation on noncalcified native valves: a series of cases

    BackgroundFor individuals with pure aortic regurgitation (AR), transcatheter aortic valve implantation (TAVI) is cautiously recommended only for those with a high or prohibitive surgical risk. We aimed to describe the results of a case series of transcatheter implantation of a balloon-expandable aortic valve bioprosthesis (BEV) for the treatment of noncalcified native valve AR.MethodsFrom February 2022–November 2022, we performed TAVI in patients with severe pure AR. Cases were indicated on the basis of symptoms, high/prohibitive surgical risk, or patient refusal of conventional treatment.ResultsFive patients underwent successful TAVI. The mean age was 81.9 ± 6.6 years, 3 (60%) female and 5 (100%) in NYHA class III or IV. The baseline echocardiogram showed an ejection fraction of 49.0 ± 10.6% and left ventricular end-systolic diameter 28.5 ± 4.7 mm/m². The average area of the aortic annulus was 529.1 ± 47.0mm² and the area oversizing index was 17.6 ± 1.2%. In the 30-day follow-up, there were no cases of prosthesis embolization, annulus rupture, stroke, acute myocardial infarction, acute renal failure, hemorrhagic complication or death. One patient required a permanent pacemaker and another had a minor vascular complication. The clinical follow-up were 19.8 months (16.7–21.8). During this period, all patients remained alive and in NYHA class I or II. One of the patients developed a moderate paravalvular leak.ConclusionTAVI with a BEV proved to be safe and effective in this small case series of patients with noncalcified native valve AR in a follow-up longer than 1 year

    PACIENTES GERIÁTRICOS: PERSPECTIVA GERAL SOBRE A COORDENAÇÃO DE CUIDADOS CONTÍNUOS E INTEGRADOS

    One of the achievements of humanity was the extension of life span. Reaching old age was previously a privilege for a few and today it has become common even in poor countries, however, the aging of the population is not enough in itself, it is necessary that the increase in life expectancy is also associated with quality and comfort for old age. In addition to a greater occurrence of diseases, the elderly population can also face social, cognitive and functional problems, therefore, their need for health care is greater and they end up using a disproportionate amount of health resources. Bearing this in mind, the objective of this work is to analyze and identify the best strategies to effectively care for elderly patients from the point of view of the coordination of geriatric continuing care, carrying out an in-depth study based on the indicators of the Cuidar program, which currently receives 16010 patients, with an average age of 75 years, who are assisted by nurses who monitor their evolution. With this analysis, the aim is to map the situation of the elderly in the country and the scientific progress in this area, aiming to contribute to the advancement of the discussion about the model and its consolidation in supplementary health.Uma das conquistas da humanidade foi a ampliação do tempo de vida. Chegar à velhice antes era um privilégio para poucos e hoje passou a ser comum mesmo em países carentes, no entanto, o envelhecimento da população não basta por si só, é necessário que o aumento da expectativa de vida esteja associado também à qualidade e conforto para a velhice. Além de uma maior ocorrência de doenças, a população idosa também pode enfrentar problemas sociais, cognitivos e funcionais, por isso, sua necessidade de assistência à saúde é maior e acabam utilizando uma quantidade desproporcional de recursos de saúde. Tendo isso em mente, objetiva-se neste trabalho  analisar e identificar as melhores estratégias para atender de forma eficaz os pacientes idosos a partir do olhar da coordenação de cuidados continuados geriátricos, realizando um estudo aprofundado com base nos indicadores do programa Cuidar+, que atualmente recebe 16010 pacientes, com média de 75 anos de idade, que são assistidos por enfermeiros que acompanham sua evolução. Com esta análise busca-se como resultado o mapeamento da situação do idoso no país e do avanço científico nesta área, visando contribuir para o avanço da discussão sobre o modelo e sua consolidação na saúde suplementar

    Combined searches for the production of supersymmetric top quark partners in proton-proton collisions at root s=13 TeV

    A combination of searches for top squark pair production using proton-proton collision data at a center-of-mass energy of 13 TeV at the CERN LHC, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 137 fb(-1) collected by the CMS experiment, is presented. Signatures with at least 2 jets and large missing transverse momentum are categorized into events with 0, 1, or 2 leptons. New results for regions of parameter space where the kinematical properties of top squark pair production and top quark pair production are very similar are presented. Depending on themodel, the combined result excludes a top squarkmass up to 1325 GeV for amassless neutralino, and a neutralinomass up to 700 GeV for a top squarkmass of 1150 GeV. Top squarks with masses from 145 to 295 GeV, for neutralino masses from 0 to 100 GeV, with a mass difference between the top squark and the neutralino in a window of 30 GeV around the mass of the top quark, are excluded for the first time with CMS data. The results of theses searches are also interpreted in an alternative signal model of dark matter production via a spin-0 mediator in association with a top quark pair. Upper limits are set on the cross section for mediator particle masses of up to 420 GeV

    Search for new particles in events with energetic jets and large missing transverse momentum in proton-proton collisions at root s=13 TeV

    A search is presented for new particles produced at the LHC in proton-proton collisions at root s = 13 TeV, using events with energetic jets and large missing transverse momentum. The analysis is based on a data sample corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 101 fb(-1), collected in 2017-2018 with the CMS detector. Machine learning techniques are used to define separate categories for events with narrow jets from initial-state radiation and events with large-radius jets consistent with a hadronic decay of a W or Z boson. A statistical combination is made with an earlier search based on a data sample of 36 fb(-1), collected in 2016. No significant excess of events is observed with respect to the standard model background expectation determined from control samples in data. The results are interpreted in terms of limits on the branching fraction of an invisible decay of the Higgs boson, as well as constraints on simplified models of dark matter, on first-generation scalar leptoquarks decaying to quarks and neutrinos, and on models with large extra dimensions. Several of the new limits, specifically for spin-1 dark matter mediators, pseudoscalar mediators, colored mediators, and leptoquarks, are the most restrictive to date.Peer reviewe

    Measurement of the top quark mass using events with a single reconstructed top quark in pp collisions at root s=13 TeV

    Abstract:A measurement of the top quark mass is performed using a data sample en-riched with single top quark events produced in thetchannel. The study is based on proton-proton collision data, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 35.9 fb−1, recorded at√s= 13TeV by the CMS experiment at the LHC in 2016. Candidate events are selectedby requiring an isolated high-momentum lepton (muon or electron) and exactly two jets,of which one is identified as originating from a bottom quark. Multivariate discriminantsare designed to separate the signal from the background. Optimized thresholds are placedon the discriminant outputs to obtain an event sample with high signal purity. The topquark mass is found to be172.13+0.76−0.77GeV, where the uncertainty includes both the sta-tistical and systematic components, reaching sub-GeV precision for the first time in thisevent topology. The masses of the top quark and antiquark are also determined separatelyusing the lepton charge in the final state, from which the mass ratio and difference aredetermined to be0.9952+0.0079−0.0104and0.83+1.79−1.35GeV, respectively.     Observation of tW production in the single-lepton channel in pp collisions at root s=13 TeV

    A measurement of the cross section of the associated production of a single top quark and a W boson in final states with a muon or electron and jets in proton-proton collisions at root s = 13 TeV is presented. The data correspond to an integrated luminosity of 36 fb(-1) collected with the CMS detector at the CERN LHC in 2016. A boosted decision tree is used to separate the tW signal from the dominant t (t) over bar background, whilst the subleading W+jets and multijet backgrounds are constrained using data-based estimates. This result is the first observation of the tW process in final states containing a muon or electron and jets, with a significance exceeding 5 standard deviations. The cross section is determined to be 89 +/- 4 (stat) +/- 12 (syst) pb, consistent with the standard model.Peer reviewe

    Measurements of the Electroweak Diboson Production Cross Sections in Proton-Proton Collisions at root s=5.02 TeV Using Leptonic Decays

    The first measurements of diboson production cross sections in proton-proton interactions at a center-of-mass energy of 5.02 TeV are reported. They are based on data collected with the CMS detector at the LHC, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 302 pb(-1). Events with two, three, or four charged light leptons (electrons or muons) in the final state are analyzed. The WW, WZ, and ZZ total cross sections are measured as sigma(WW) = 37:0(-5.2)(+5.5) (stat)(-2.6)(+2.7) (syst) pb, sigma(WZ) = 6.4(-2.1)(+2.5) (stat)(-0.3)(+0.5)(syst) pb, and sigma(ZZ) = 5.3(-2.1)(+2.5)(stat)(-0.4)(+0.5) (syst) pb. All measurements are in good agreement with theoretical calculations at combined next-to-next-to-leading order quantum chromodynamics and next-to-leading order electroweak accuracy
