Literatura comparada y tematología

Uno de los capítulos necesarios de cualquier manual teórico de Literatura Comparada es el que se centra en el estudio de la Tematología, entendida como la rama de la Literatura Comparada que se encarga del análisis de los temas y argumentos de los textos literarios y sus relaciones tanto internas como externas, es decir, su recurrencia en otras manifestaciones textuales o artísticas anteriores o posteriores. Sin embargo, el acercamiento teórico a la tematología conlleva muchas dificultades, derivadas, en primer lugar, de la gran cantidad de términos y conceptos que en tal investigación pueden ser manejados. Con el presente trabajo pretendemos definir claramente dichos conceptos al tiempo que intentamos proponer algunos caminos válidos para el análisis temático de las obras literarias en el ámbito de la Literatura Comparada, como son los métodos derivados de Psicoanálisis o de la Poética de lo Imaginario._________________________________Any handbook dealing with theoretical aspects of Comparative Literature must contain a chapter on Thematology, that is, the branch of Comparative Literature which analyzes themes and plots of literary texts with regard to their workings within the text itself as well as their presence in other works of art dated prior to or after the text in question. Más allá de la traducción : literatura nacional y literatura comparada

La traducción está estrechamente ligada a la literatura nacional y la literatura comparada y guarda con ellas una relación de mutua influencia. Recientes teorías surgidas en el seno de la literatura comparada o incluso en el de la traductología apuntan en este sentido al afirmar que la traducción enriquece la literatura nacional, ayuda al estudio de la literatura comparada y estimula el desarrollo de la literatura universal. Poetry's total scandal:Poets and postmen in Antonio Skármeta’s El cartero de Neruda

The argument put forward here takes Antonio Skármeta's short novel El cartero de Neruda (Con ardiente paciencia) as a theorization of the relationship between poetry and politics, by way of the concept-metaphors (Mieke Bal) that are deployed in the novel. Skármeta stages the public role of poetry through the telling of a story about the poet Pablo Neruda and his postman Mario Jiménez. The relationship between poetry and politics is analysed with reference to Hazard Adams' concept of «the offense of poetry» and Roland Barthes' reflections on the total scandal of language in his essay «Écrivains et écrivants» (1964), here adapted as «the total scandal of poetry». In contradistinction to Barthes, who argues that the total scandal of language is impossible because of the absorption of scandalous language by the literary institution, Skármeta's short novel suggests that the total scandal of poetry is indeed possible when, as in the case of Pablo Neruda, Mario Jiménez and Salvador Allende, poetry becomes a constitutive part of a political project, within which it functions as a reminder of dignity and as the touchstone for political integrity
