    Scheduling for Proportional Differentiated Services on the Internet

    Proportional Differentiated Services can be provisioned in terms of bandwidth, delay, or packet loss. Several studies contributed schedulers and packet droppers that achieved proportional bandwidth, delay, or loss differentiation. However, all these schemes differentiated in terms of only one of the three metrics. A simple, unified, scalable, and robust scheme to simultaneously control all three metrics was felt important. By controlling just delay and packet loss, proportional differentiation can be achieved in terms of all three metrics. A robust adaptive scheduler for proportional delay differentiation services is presented. Proportional services are further policed by a class based packet dropper. The combination of the adaptive scheduler and the packet dropper treats different traffic classes proportionally in terms of all three metrics. Simulation experiments show that regardless of the network traffic characteristics, our scheme can effectively differentiate services in terms of bandwidth, delay, and loss simultaneously

    An unusual occurrence of synovial sarcoma in forearm: a case report

    Soft tissue sarcomas are group of malignant tumours arising from extra skeletal mesenchymal tissue. Presenting a patient with swelling over the posterior aspect of left arm for 6 months, gradually increasing in size for four months and rapidly increasing in size for last 2 months and not associated with pain. Peripheral pulses felt. Ultrasound showed large solid cystic intramuscular lesion arising from triceps muscle and Trucut biopsy showed poorly differentiated malignancy. Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) left arm impression was large lobulated solid cystic space occupying lesion in triceps muscle, possibility of neoplastic lesion. Here the patient underwent wide local excision and reconstruction procedure followed by Radiotherapy, chemotherapy and regular follow up

    Nanogels as novel drug nanocarriers for CNS drug delivery

    Nanogels are highly recognized as adaptable drug delivery systems that significantly contribute to improving various therapies and diagnostic examinations for different human diseases. These three-dimensional, hydrophilic cross-linked polymers have the ability to absorb large amounts of water or biological fluids. Due to the growing demand for enhancing current therapies, nanogels have emerged as the next-generation drug delivery system. They effectively address the limitations of conventional drug therapy, such as poor stability, large particle size, and low drug loading efficiency. Nanogels find extensive use in the controlled delivery of therapeutic agents, reducing adverse drug effects and enabling lower therapeutic doses while maintaining enhanced efficacy and patient compliance. They are considered an innovative drug delivery system that highlights the shortcomings of traditional methods. This article covers several topics, including the involvement of nanogels in the nanomedicine sector, their advantages and limitations, ideal properties like biocompatibility, biodegradability, drug loading capacity, particle size, permeability, non-immunological response, and colloidal stability. Additionally, it provides information on nanogel classification, synthesis, drug release mechanisms, and various biological applications. The article also discusses barriers associated with brain targeting and the progress of nanogels as nanocarriers for delivering therapeutic agents to the central nervous system

    Confirmation of acute nitrate poisoning differentiating from anthrax in three Indian indigenous cattle

    This article reports cases of nitrate poisoning in Indian indigenous cattle breeds comprising two Gir cows aging 4 years each, and one Barugur cow at 1.5 years of age. The cattle with case history of sudden death and oozing of partially clotted blood from the anal opening were brought to the Central University Laboratory (CUL), Center for Animal Health Studies (CAHS), Tamil Nadu Veterinary and Animal Sciences University (TANUVAS) for diagnostic investigation with a suspicion of anthrax. According to anamnesis, all the animals were clinically normal and did not reveal any abnormality on the previous day. The animals were fed with recently harvested sorghum leaves and stalks. Smears examined for anthrax were found negative. Biological test (mice inoculation) for anthrax was also negative. Gross lesions on necropsy examination of the carcases were suggestive of nitrate intoxication. Finally, nitrate intoxication of these cattle was confirmed by chemical and toxicological analysis of fodder, rumen content, aqueous humor, liver, kidney and urine

However, the challenge is to develop a benign and cost effective inhibitor that is highly effective. Addition of substances that exert synergistic influence and blending of different metals inhibitors had been employed. This review article delineates the effect of addition of metals cations and blending on the inhibition efficiency of metals corrosion inhibitors.
