The purpose of the present study lies in determining the visionary leadership manifest in the administrative staff of the Guapan Educational Unit, with the research taking the form of a positivist descriptive research study that will deepen the knowledge of the variable that concerns us: visionary leadership. Through the application of field designs, the information was obtained directly from interaction with the subjects, who made up a population of (62) subjects, among whom were (07) administrators and (55) educational professionals, with the sample consisting of 38 instructors. The instrument used was an 18-item multiple-choice questionnaire (Almost always, Sometimes and Almost never), which was validated by three experts, with a reliability of 0.97, which demonstrates that it is highly reliable. The consolidation of this research showed with its results that the administrative staff engages in visionary leadership in the Guapan Educational Unit. The opinion of the instructional staff, however, shows just the opposite, judging that the administrators show weakness in visionary leadership. For this reason, guidelines are offered to the administrators of the state-funded private school located in the Cañar province, Azogues district, Guapan parishPeer Reviewe

Thermography and Sonic Anemometry to Analyze Air Heaters in Mediterranean Greenhouses

    Get PDF
The present work has developed a methodology based on thermography and sonic anemometry for studying the microclimate in Mediterranean greenhouses equipped with air heaters and polyethylene distribution ducts to distribute the warm air. Sonic anemometry allows us to identify the airflow pattern generated by the heaters and to analyze the temperature distribution inside the greenhouse, while thermography provides accurate crop temperature data. Air distribution by means of perforated polyethylene ducts at ground level, widely used in Mediterranean-type greenhouses, can generate heterogeneous temperature distributions inside the greenhouse when the system is not correctly designed. The system analyzed in this work used a polyethylene duct with a row of hot air outlet holes (all of equal diameter) that expel warm air toward the ground to avoid plant damage. We have observed that this design (the most widely used in Almería’s greenhouses) produces stagnation of hot air in the highest part of the structure, reducing the heating of the crop zone. Using 88 kW heating power (146.7 W∙m−2) the temperature inside the greenhouse is maintained 7.2 to 11.2 °C above the outside temperature. The crop temperature (17.6 to 19.9 °C) was maintained above the minimum recommended value of 10 °C

This paper establishes the stratigraphic, chronological, and functional sequence of a suburban settlement located in the surroundings of the Roman town of Lucentum in order to outline the productive evolution of its periurban ager. The site shows four main phases, covering a long period, constructions from the Late Republican period (phase I, 2nd-1st centuries BC), an urban and road restructuring from Augustan period (phase II), the construction of a villa with structures of commercial transformation, dated from the late Julian or Flavian period (phase III) and finally the major restructuring of the villa in the Early Roman Empire (phase IV, 4th-5th centuries AD).Investigación desarrollada en el marco de los proyectos de investigación del MINECO, Ministerio de Economía y Competitividad (HAR2012-37003-C03-02 y HAR2012-32881), Ministerio de Cultura (IPCE/PERUSA 07-11) y Universidad de Alicante (ACIE08-07)
