    Get PDF
The Textile Industry of Pakistan is considered as life line of country’s economy. It accounts around 55% share of total economy. Major exports from textiles are yarns, raw and finished fabrics and also limited quantity of value added textile items. However from last one decade textile industry is facing lot of problems in terms of getting and maintaining export orders. Most of customers globally now giving preferences to other regional competitors. Due to this Pakistani Textile Industry losing its competitiveness day by day which resulted loss in millions of US Dollars per years. The raw woven fabric manufacturing sector that lies almost in middle of supply line having sharing of 8% in world exports. The performance of this value added product responsible also overall performance of sector. The literature review on internal factors specifically related to this sector still in gap which author tries to cover up. The literature review delineated accordingly with respect to internal factors such as product types, innovations, energy cost, inventory and green textile concepts which gives effect on export performance of weaving industry

There are very less studies carried out on this hot issue especially in context of Pakistan. There is contextual gap exist in the literature review on external factors. In this Paper author made literature review on six external factors such as exchange rate, GDP, FDI, Quota, Technology and political instability and their impact found discussed on various studies

Re-Thinking Vygotsky: Applying Social Constructivism to Asynchronous Online Courses utilizing the Power of Crowdsourcing

    Get PDF
Web 2.0 technologies have dramatically changed the way businesses communicate today and the rise of crowdsourcing is largely seen as an online, distributed model for problem-solving across industries. The maturity of web 2.0 technologies has also increased learners’ interest in online courses. However, the results obtained from online courses are highly debatable in terms of motivation, course completion rates and actual learning that occur. This paper is a call to apply social constructivism approach to online courses, using the power of crowdsourcing to collect educational resources around online courses and using crowd workers as More Knowledgeable Others (MKO’s) in online one-on-one settings to maximize learner’s satisfaction and learning

Impact of Financial Risk on Financial Performance of Banks in Pakistan; the Mediating Role of Capital Adequacy Ratio

    Get PDF
Financial risks, cover credit, liquidity and operational risks, are the risks which banks face during their operations and all these risks have severe impact on the profitability of banks. The Basel Committee for Banking Supervision (BCBS) introduces Capital Adequacy Ratio (CAR) to overcome uncertainties and possible losses (Risk) to the banks. In this context, the aim in this study is to identify impact of financial risk on financial performance of banks in Pakistan with mediating role of Capital Adequacy Ratio (CAR). The findings show that credit and liquidity risks have negative relationship with financial performance, whereas operational risk has a positive relationship with financial performance and capital adequacy ratio of banks in Pakistan. This study is useful in devising the rules and regulations by the regulators (Basel Committee and State Bank of Pakistan) for risk measurement and management by the banking sector.&nbsp

One of the most critical issues of the mortality rate in the medical field in current times is breast cancer. Nowadays, a large number of men and women is facing cancer-related deaths due to the lack of early diagnosis systems and proper treatment per year. To tackle the issue, various data mining approaches have been analyzed to build an effective model that helps to identify the different stages of deadly cancers. The study successfully proposes an early cancer disease model based on five different supervised algorithms such as logistic regression (henceforth LR), decision tree (henceforth DT), random forest (henceforth RF), Support vector machine (henceforth SVM), and K-nearest neighbor (henceforth KNN). After an appropriate preprocessing of the dataset, least absolute shrinkage and selection operator (LASSO) was used for feature selection (FS) using a 10-fold cross-validation (CV) approach. Employing LASSO with 10-fold cross-validation has been a novel steps introduced in this research. Afterwards, different performance evaluation metrics were measured to show accurate predictions based on the proposed algorithms. The result indicated top accuracy was received from RF classifier, approximately 99.41% with the integration of LASSO. Finally, a comprehensive comparison was carried out on Wisconsin breast cancer (diagnostic) dataset (WBCD) together with some current works containing all features

IN-VITRO THROMBOLYTIC ACTIVITY OF HERBAL ANTI-ARTHEROSCLEROSIS FORMULATION

In recent study, the Herbal Anti-atherosclerosis Formulation comprising of Lemon, Garlic, Ginger and Apple fruit extract vinegar have been generally recognized as agents for prevention and treatment of cardiovascular and other metabolic ailments, atherosclerosis, hyperlipidemia, thrombosis, hypertension and diabetes and cholesterol bringing down impact. Accordingly, the present study was intended to investigate thrombolytic properties of Herbal Anti-atherosclerosis Formulation. Natural Antiatherosclerosis Formulation of demonstrated exceptionally huge (P <0.001) clot lytic properties in different blood samples. The percent clot lytic activity was compared with negative control (water) and standard enzyme positive control (streptokinase). The mean % of clot lysis for water and streptokinase was discovered 4.71% and 86.21% individually. Then again the mean percent clot lytic activity of Herbal Anti-atherosclerosis Formulation was discovered 29.51%, which is huge contrast and the positive and negative control. The present research recommends that Herbal Anti-atherosclerosis Formulation has significant thrombolytic action. Consequently the detailing may be a wellspring of powerful natural medication

    Get PDF
With the popularity of Internet of Things (IoT) technology, the security of the IoT network has become an important issue. Traditional intrusion detection systems have their limitations when applied to the IoT network due to resource constraints and the complexity. This research focusses on the design, implementation and testing of an intrusion detection system which uses a hybrid placement strategy based on a multi-agent system, blockchain and deep learning algorithms. The system consists of the following modules: data collection, data management, analysis, and response. The National security lab–knowledge discovery and data mining NSL-KDD dataset is used to test the system. The results demonstrate the efficiency of deep learning algorithms when detecting attacks from the transport layer. The experiment indicates that deep learning algorithms are suitable for intrusion detection in IoT network environment
