The aim of this thesis was to create a program for visualization of artificial neural networks. The first part contains definition of artificial neural networks, comparison with biological neural networks and comparison with processors used in personal computers. Also contains brief description of their function and advantages/disadvantages of artificial neural networks. The second part contains brief explanation of deep learning. There are described methods and models used for learning. The third part contains introduction to Caffe framework and summary of the most frequently occuring layers in neural networks, that are created by using Caffe. Next part contains brief analysis of created program as well as detailed description of classes, that program contains.

Design and development of a Multicultural Competence Scale in Helping-Profession Students

    Get PDF
The study focuses on designing a Multicultural Competence Scale in Helping-Profession Students. The aim was to create an assessment tool of multicultural competence in students of helping professions as such a tool has been non-existent so far in the Central Europe. The scale construction was inspired by the four following instruments: CBMCS, MAKSS, MSPCCS and IIMCS. Through content validation, exploratory factor analysis and confirmatory factor analysis, the original 58 scales were reduced to a 20-item final version of the MCSHPS, which includes scales of the following five factors: Knowledge, Understanding of terms, Activity, Awareness and Communication skills. © the author(s)

The aim of the thesis was to create a tool for time-series prediction based on deep learning. The first part of the work is a brief description of deep learning and its comparison to classical machine learning. In the next section contains brief analysis of some tools, that are already used for time-series forecasting. The last part is focused on the analysis of the problem as well as on the actual creation of the program.

Listy, čtvrtletník pro umění a filosofii 1946-1948 (The History and Development of the Review, bibliography)

    Get PDF
The present thesis deals with three volumes of Listy, review for arts and philosophy, edited by Jindřich Chalupecký and, subsequently, co-edited by Jan Grossman and the undisclosed editorial board, published in 1946-48 first as a quarterly, later as a monthly. The main focus of the thesis is on the description of single issues, their analysis, outline of the articles and general depiction of the goals the editorial board attempted to fulfill. Furthermore, the thesis analyzes the contemporary literary context and the place of Listy within it. The thesis also includes the review's annotated bibliography with the author and subject indexes.Department of Czech and Comparative LiteratureÚstav české literatury a komparatistikyFaculty of ArtsFilozofická fakult

Clock Math — a System for Solving SLEs Exactly

    Get PDF
In this paper, we present a GPU-accelerated hybrid system that solves ill-conditioned systems of linear equations exactly. Exactly means without rounding errors due to using integer arithmetics. First, we scale floating-point numbers up to integers, then we solve dozens of SLEs within different modular arithmetics and then we assemble sub-solutions back using the Chinese remainder theorem. This approach effectively bypasses current CPU floating-point limitations. The system is capable of solving Hilbert’s matrix without losing a single bit of precision, and with a significant speedup compared to existing CPU solvers

Analiza porównawcza postaw czeskich i angielskich nauczycieli odnoszących się do kompetencji wielokulturowych

The study is a research probe into attitudes of Czech and English teachers regarding multicultural competence. The authors delineate theoretical foundations which defi ne multicultural competence and its possible further division. The aim of the empirical part of the study is to present the results of a comparative research probe aimed at identifying the importance attributed to particular multicultural competences by Czech and English teachers. The authors use a methodological approach in the interface of qualitative and quantitative research strategies, namely the Q-methodology. ANOVA was used to determine differences in attitudes toward multicultural subcompetencies between Czech and English teachers. Furthermore, the Pearson correlation coeffi cient was used to analyse correlations between the groups of teachers

Students' self-regulation in relation to perceived risk behavior

    Get PDF
The paper deals with the issue of students' self-regulation depending on their perceptions of risk behavior. A low level of self-regulation is often associated with risk behavior and is often investigated in environments where children are at risk. In our research, we focused on students at primary and secondary schools (N = 2,652) and investigated how self-regulation occurred in cognitive, emotional, and behavioral areas. We also examined how self-efficacy, school achievement, economic status, and perceived influence from others contributed to self-regulation. The results suggest that the level of self-regulation was lower in students with perceived risk behavior, but, at the same time, it did not differ from perceived efficacy. In both monitored groups (depending on perceived risk behavior), perceived self-efficacy influenced the degree of self-regulation. School achievement and economic status also contributed to self-regulation in pupils without perceived risk behavior. The perceived influence of friends was a strong predictor for self-regulation in pupils with perceived risk behavior. © 2018 Masaryk University, Faculty of Arts. All rights reserved

The social and personal context of intercultural learning among secondary school students

    Get PDF
The present study examines research on the social and personal context of intercultural learning among secondary school students. In our first empirical study, we focused on identifying influences which affect intercultural learning. In the second empirical study, we identified five factors of the social context of intercultural learning: School, Family, Peers, Media, and Reference group. We also identified one factor of the personal context: Motivation–Experience. The factors that appeared to be the most relevant for intercultural learning among secondary school students included Motivation–Experience and Media. Our findings show that it can be expected that Peers, School, Family and Reference group have an interactive effect on intercultural learning. Media act rather independently of the other factors of social context. The relationship between social and personal context exists in two variants: congruence and incongruence. © 2018 Masaryk University Faculty of Arts. All rights reserved
