    ANTECEDENTS OF BUDGETARY PARTICIPATION: ENHANCING EMPLOYEES’ JOB PERFORMANCE

    his research investigated the antecedent budgetary participation (need for achievement and work attitude), then assess the impact on employees’ job performance. The data were obtained using questionnaires that distributed to respondents. Seventy two respondents were chosen as samples and path analysis was used as techniques to analyze the data. The result of this research showed that need for achievement has significant positive association with budgetary participation. However, the result found that there is no significant association between work attitude and budgetary participation. Furthermore, the researcher found that budgetary participation had a significant positive association with job performance (e.i managerial performance). The researcher concludes that when employees have a higher need for achievement, they will tend to higher participation in budgetary process, and this condition will enhance employees’ job performance. Here, budgetary participation acted as mediating variable between need for achievement and job performance. This final project was written based on the writer’s job training as an English teacher in SMP N 1 Grogol Sukoharjo which was done for a month. The writer took two classes in VII D and VII E as the subject to be observed. This final project discusses the effectiveness of using procedure genre to improve writing skill for VII grade students in junior high school. During the job training, the writer took some activities to collect the data by doing observation in the school and the class, interviewing the English teacher to get more information about the school and the English teaching and learning process. The genre used by the writer to teach writing skill the students was procedure genre. While the type of writing performance used by the writer was guided writing. For teaching writing of procedure genre, the writer asked to the students to make an imperative sentence. It was not too difficult for them because they have been got this material before. Then, the writer gave them a procedure text. After that, the writer explained the generic structure of procedure text. The next activity is the writer was random that procedure text. The writer asked to the students arranged it into a good procedure. To make them attracted, class divided into four groups, each group has a leader. The leader was writing a good procedure in the white board while the rest of the members give instruction to the leader to do the task. After that, the writer asked to the students to make a procedure text individually. Most of the students got the difficulties such as vocabulary use and punctuation use. Grammatically, they did not get any difficulties because they have been gotten imperative sentence before. Overall they can make a simple procedure text. Therefore, the writing skill of the student especially in writing procedure improved. It was proven by looking at the students’ writing in the end of the meeting

    Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengeksplorasi motif apa saja yang melatarbelakangi pemustaka digital natives berkunjung ke ruang perpustakaan, mengetahui apa yang dialami pemustaka digital natives tentang fenomena transformasi ruang perpustakaan, dan mengetahui pemustaka digital natives memaknai pengalamannya terhadap transformasi ruang perpustakaan di Perpustakaan Pusat UGM. Menggunakan perspektif kajian budaya dan media, penelitian ini dilakukan dengan metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan fenomenologi. Teknik pengumpulan data dengan wawancara mendalam, observasi partisipan, dan penelusuran dokumen. Peneliti mengumpulkan data dari dari 3 informan pemustaka digital natives yang menggunakan ruang perpustakaan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa secara textural mengenai apa yang dialami oleh pemustaka digital natives yaitu memiliki beragam motif yang melatarbelakangi berkunjung di ruang Perpustakaan Pusat UGM. Sementara itu, secara structural hasilnya dapat dideskripsikan bahwa berada di ruang perpustakaan serasa di ruang virtual, artinya pemustaka digital natives mengalami fenomena transformasi ruang perpustakaan di Perpustakaan Pusat UGM, seperti adanya perubahan ruang dalam hal fungsi ruang, alokasi ruang virtual, akses koleksi fisik ke koleksi elektronik, serta ruang yang berbasis pengetahuan.     MINAT SISWA KELAS XI TERHADAP KONSELING KARIR DI SMA N 2 BANGUNTAPAN BANTUL Oleh : Fatmawati NIM. 04104244008 ABSTRAK Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk untuk mengetahui minat siswa kelas XI terhadap konseling karir di SMA N 2 Banguntapan Bantul. Subyek penelitian sebanyak 98 orang siswa SMA N 2 Banguntapan Bantul, yang diambil dengan menggunakan teknik simple random sampling. Instrumen yang digunakan untuk mengumpulkan data berupa skala minat. Uji validitas dengan menggunakan rumus product moment, sedangkan uji reliabilitas dengan menggunakan teknik Alpha Cronbach dengan koefisien alpha 0,910. Teknik analisis data dilakukan dengan analisis deskriptif kuantitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa skala minat terhadap konseling karir di SMA N 2 Banguntapan Bantul ini dapat dikategorikan sedang, yaitu sebanyak 51 responden (52,0%), sedangkan yang termasuk dalam kategori tinggi sebanyak 42 responden (42,9%) serta sisanya sebanyak 5 responden (5,1%) termasuk dalam kategori rendah.     Protein expression on Cr resistant microorganism using electrophoresis method

    Abstrak. Fatmawati U, Suranto, Sajidan. 2009. Ekspresi protein pada mikroorganisme resisten Cr dengan metode elektroforesis. Nusantara Bioscience 1: 31-37. Krom heksavalen (Cr(VI)) dikenal sebagai logam berat beracun, sehingga perlu direduksi menjadi Cr(III) yang lebih rendah toksisitasnya. Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Pseudomonas putida, Klebsiella pneumoniae, Pantoea sp. dan Saccharomyces cerevisiae adalah mikroorganisme resisten dan mampu mereduksi Cr(VI). Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mengetahui kemampuan mikroorganisme dalam mengurangi Cr(VI) dan mengetahui pola pita protein antara mikroorganisme resisten Cr(VI) dan mikroorganisme tidak resisten yang diinokulasi pada medium kaldu LB. SDS-PAGE digunakan untuk mengetahui ekspresi protein, sementara konsentrasi Cr(VI) diidentifikasi dengan metode 1,5 difenilkarbazid. Data kuantitatif dianalisis dengan ANAVA dua faktorial dilanjutkan dengan uji jarak berganda Duncan pada taraf 1%. Data kualitatif yaitu ekspresi protein dianalisis dengan mobilitas relatif (Rf). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kemampuan mikroorganisme dalam mereduksi Cr(VI) pada konsentrasi awal 0.5 ppm, 1 ppm, 5 ppm dan 10 ppm berbeda-beda, persentase rata-rata kemampuan masing-masing mikroorganisme dalam mereduksi Cr(VI) adalah: P. putida (65%) > S. cerevisiae (64,45%) > P. aeruginosa (60,73%) > Pantoea sp. (50,22%) > K. pneumoniae (47,82%) > tanpa mikroorganisme (34,25%). Penambahan mikroorganisme secara nyata mempengaruhi reduksi Cr(VI). SDS-PAGE menunjukkan bahwa ekspresi protein antara mikroorganisme resisten dan tidak resisten tidak berbeda, tetapi mikroorganisme resisten memiliki lebih banyak protein (pita protein lebih tebal). The research method used experimental method using a static group comparison. The sampling technique used purposive sampling technique. The research samples are 64 students and based on the table determining the number of samples, they are only 55 students. With a composition of 27 students of class X I Accounting 2, which uses discussion method and 28 students of class XI Accounting 3, which uses lecture variatif. Data obtained using an instrument is a form of questionnaire with likert scale for the variable (Critical Thinking). Where the variable X of 43 statements that have been calibrated validity, a valid statement as many as 36 items are valid and 7 items are drop. Then reliability process using Cronbach alpha formula. The results of the X variable reliability of 0.93. This proves that the instrument is valid and reliable. The data analysis technique used is the test of the difference between two average (t-test). Test data requirements done liliefors normality test data, test data homogeneity of test F. The results of the normality of the data for the variable X , generating Lvalue (Lo) of 0.158667 compared to Ltable (Lt) at the 0.05 significance level by the number of 27 samples is 0.170511, then the Lo < Lt. It means that the data were normally distributed variable X 1 1 . While normality test data for variable X , produces Lvalue (Lo) of 0.1476 compared to Ltable (Lt) at the 0.05 level by the number of 26 samples is 0.16743, then the Lo < Lt. It means that the data were normally distributed variable X . The results of homogeneity test data is Ftables 1.91 and Fvalue is 1,04. So 2 Fvalue < F table. It means that both the data have a homogeneous variance. Then test the difference between two average count obtained T-value 5.08 and T-Table is 1.67 then T-value > T-Table. The results of these calculations can provide the conclusions of this study that there is a difference in critical thinking between students who uses the discussion method and using lecturer variatif

    Model of Continuous Cheese Whey Fermentation by Candida Pseudotropicalis

    The utilization of cheese whey as a fermentation substrate to produce bio-ethanol is an effort to supply bio-ethanol demand as a renewable energy. Like other process systems, modeling is also required for fermentation process design, optimization and plant operation. This research aims to study the fermentation process of cheese whey by applying mathematics and fundamental concept in chemical engineering, and to investigate the characteristic of the cheese whey fermentation process. Steady state simulation results for inlet substrate concentration of 50, 100 and 150 g/l, and various values of hydraulic retention time, showed that the ethanol productivity maximum values were 0.1091, 0.3163 and 0.5639 g/l.h respectively. Those values were achieved at hydraulic retention time of 20 hours, which was the minimum value used in this modeling. This showed that operating reactor at low hydraulic retention time was favorable. Model of bio-ethanol production from cheese whey will enhance the understanding of what really happen in the fermentation process

    PENGARUH KEMANDIRIAN BELAJAR DAN KEMAMPUAN MENYELESAIKAN KESULITAN BELAJAR TERHADAP PRESTASI BELAJAR PADA MAHASISWA JURUSAN AKUNTANSI FKIP UMS ANGKATAN 2004

    Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kemandirian mahasiswa dalam belajar, bagaimana mahasiswa menyelesaikan kesulitannya dalam belajar, dan prestasi belajar mahasiswa jurusan pendidikan akuntansi FKIP UMS tahun angkatan 2004. Dengan metode penelitian kuantitatif dengan populasi 129, sampel sebanyak 97 orang. Teknik pengambilan sampel proportional random sampling menggunakan angket tertutup. Hasil pengujian dan analisis terhadap model regresi linier berganda didapatkan: y = 2,335 + 0,013x1 + 0,015x2. Koefisien regresi x1 sebesar 0,013 menunjukkan hubungan positip untuk kemandirian belajar sebesar 0,013 terhadap perubahan y secara individu, demikian juga untuk koefisien regresi x2 sebesar 0,015 menunjukkan hubungan positip untuk kemampuan menyelesaikan kesulitan belajar mahasiswa sebesar 0,015 terhadap y secara individu. Sedangkan konstanta 2,335 menunjukkan perubahan y jika kedua variabel x1 dan x2 dianggap nol atau tidak ada. Dengan demikian apabila kemandirian belajar mahasiswa ditingkatkan, atau kemampuan menyelesaikan kesulitan belajar mahasiswa ditingkatkan atau kedua-duanya ditingkatkan, maka akan meningkatkan prestasi belajar mahasiswa. Hal ini dibuktikan dengan hasil uji-t yang didapatkan yaitu t-hitung untuk kemandirian belajar mahasiswa sebesar 2,873 signifikan pada taraf signifikansi 5% dan t-hitung untuk kemampuan menyelesaikan kesulitan belajar mahasiswa sebesar 2,984 signifikan pada taraf signifikansi 5%. Sedangkan pengaruh kedua variabel tersebut dengan prestasi belajar mahasiswa dibuktikan dengan hasil uji-F dengan nilai F-hitung sebesar 15,535 signifikan pada taraf signifikansi 5%. Dengan demikian hipotesis yang diajukan dalam penelitian ini teruji. Sedangkan variabel yang dominan pengaruhnya terhadap prestasi belajar mahasiswa adalah kemampuan menyelesaikan kesulitan belajar mahasiswa dengan ditunjukkan oleh koefisien regresi sebesar 0,015. SE% untuk kemandirian belajar mahasiswa sebesar 58,035%, sedangkan SR% untuk kemampuan menyelesaikan kesulitan belajar mahasiswa sebesar 66,96% terhadap prestasi belajar mahasiswa. SE% untuk kemandirian belajar mahasiswa sebesar 21,41%, sedangkan SE% untuk kemampuan menyelesaikan kesulitan belajar mahasiswa sebesar 24,70% terhadap prestasi belajar mahasiswa

    Differences of Attachment Styles to Fathers Between Early Adolescent Male and Female

    Many opinions state that girls have a tendency to be closer to their fathers than boys. This is because fathers usually reveal a soft attitude and a kind way of talking toward their daughter. In addition, fathers also succumb to the demands of his daughter. Conversely, with his son, fathers are usually much more 'rough and tough. So, girls feel more secure with their fathers than boys. The objective of this study was to determine the differences of attachment style to fathers between early adolescent males and females in seventh-grade classes of Junior High School 19 Banda Aceh. The number of samples taken was 60 students. A rating scale was used for collecting data, namely Adult Attachment Scale (AAS). The result obtained from the T-Tests showed there were no significant differences of attachment style to fathers between early adolescents male and female in seventh-grade classes of Junior High School 19 Banda Aceh.
