Penerapan Business Continuity Pada Bank Central Asia
Banks are financial institutions that have a major impact on the economic system and can affect people\u27s lives. Hence, regulators concerned in organizing business continuity of the banking industries. PT. Bank Central Asia, Tbk. (BCA) represents businesses in the banking sector that can not escape from the natural and man threats which can interfere the bank\u27s business. This case study presents a glimpse of how the business continuity run in BCA. Moreover, business continuity in banking can not be generalized because each bank has a different strategy. Some disasters have been handled properly for their business continuity plan in BCA are catastrophic floods that hit Jakarta in 2013 and fires at several branch offices of BCA. BCA awares of the business continuity planning as an endless process that need to be refined over time. This case study described the roadmap to the awareness of business continuity planning in BCA and how the business continuity planning methodology is run in BCA

Ejection mechanisms in the sublayer of a turbulent channel
A possible model for the inception of vorticity ejections in the viscous sublayer of a turbulent rectangular channel is presented. It was shown that this part of the flow is dominated by protruding strong shear layers of z-vorticity, and it was proposed as a mechanism for their maintenance and reproduction which is essentially equivalent to that responsible for the instability of 2-D Tollmien-Schlichting waves. The efforts to isolate computationally a single structure for its study have failed up to now, since it appears that single structures decay in the absence of external forcing, but a convenient computation model was identified in the form of a long and narrow periodic computational box containing at each moment only a few structures. Evaluation of minor pathogen intramammary infection, susceptibility parameters, and somatic cell counts on the development of new intramammary infections with major mastitis pathogens
Major mastitis pathogens such as Staphylococcus aureus, Streptococcus uberis, Streptococcus dysgalactiae, and coliforms are usually considered more virulent and damaging to the udder than minor mastitis pathogens such as Corynebacterium spp. and coagulase-negative staphylococci (CNS). The current literature comprises several studies (n=38) detailing analyses with conflicting results as to whether intramammary infections (IMI) with the minor pathogens decrease, increase, or have no effect on the risk of a quarter acquiring a new IMI (NIMI) with a major pathogen. The Canadian Bovine Mastitis Research Network has a large mastitis database derived from a 2-yr data collection on a national cohort of dairy farms, and data from this initiative were used to further investigate the effect of IMI with minor pathogens on the acquisition of new major pathogen infections (defined as a culture-positive quarter sample in a quarter that had been free of that major pathogen in previous samples in the sampling period). Longitudinal milk samplings of clinically normal udders taken over several 6-wk periods as well as samples from cows pre-dry-off and postcalving were used to this end (n=80,397 quarter milk samples). The effects of CNS and Corynebacterium spp. on the major mastitis pathogens Staph. aureus, Strep. uberis, Strep. dysgalactiae, and coliform bacteria (Escherichia coli and Klebsiella spp.) were investigated using risk ratio analyses and multilevel logistic regression models. Quarter-, cow- and herd-level susceptibility parameters were also evaluated and were able to account for the increased susceptibility that exists within herds, cows and quarters, removing it from estimates for the effects of the minor pathogens. Increased quarter-level susceptibility was associated with increased risk of major pathogen NIMI for all pathogens except the coliforms. Increased somatic cell count was consistently associated with elevated risk of new major pathogen infections, but this was assumed to be a result of low sensitivity of bacteriology to diagnose major pathogen NIMI expediently and accurately. The presence of CNS in the sample 2 samplings before the occurrence of a NIMI increased the odds of experiencing a Staph. aureus NIMI 2.0 times, making the presence of CNS a risk factor for acquiring a Staph. aureus NIMI. Even with this extensive data set, power was insufficient to make a definitive statement about the effect of minor pathogen IMI on the acquisition of major pathogen NIMI. Definitively answering questions of this nature are likely to require an extremely large data set dedicated particularly to minor pathogen presence and NIMI with major pathogens.Source type: Electronic(1
Protecting superconducting qubits from external sources of loss and heat
We characterize a superconducting qubit before and after embedding it along
with its package in an absorptive medium. We observe a drastic improvement in
the effective qubit temperature and over a tenfold improvement in the
relaxation time up to 5.7 s. Our results suggest the presence of external
radiation inside the cryogenic apparatus can be a limiting factor for both
qubit initialization and coherence. We infer from simple calculations that
relaxation is not limited by thermal photons in the sample prior to embedding,
but by dissipation arising from quasiparticle generation.Comment: 3 figure
Entanglement of two superconducting qubits in a waveguide cavity via monochromatic two-photon excitation
We report a system where fixed interactions between non-computational levels
make bright the otherwise forbidden two-photon 00 --> 11 transition. The system
is formed by hand selection and assembly of two discrete component
transmon-style superconducting qubits inside a rectangular microwave cavity.
The application of a monochromatic drive tuned to this transition induces
two-photon Rabi-like oscillations between the ground and doubly-excited states
via the Bell basis. The system therefore allows all-microwave two-qubit
universal control with the same techniques and hardware required for single
qubit control. We report Ramsey-like and spin echo sequences with the generated
Bell states, and measure a two-qubit gate fidelity of 90% (unconstrained) and

A simple all-microwave entangling gate for fixed-frequency superconducting qubits
We demonstrate an all-microwave two-qubit gate on superconducting qubits
which are fixed in frequency at optimal bias points. The gate requires no
additional subcircuitry and is tunable via the amplitude of microwave
irradiation on one qubit at the transition frequency of the other. We use the
gate to generate entangled states with a maximal extracted concurrence of 0.88
and quantum process tomography reveals a gate fidelity of 81%
Pain Coping Skills Training for Patients Who Catastrophize About Pain Prior to Knee Arthroplasty: A Multisite Randomized Clinical Trial
BACKGROUND:
Pain catastrophizing has been identified as a prognostic indicator of poor outcome following knee arthroplasty. Interventions to address pain catastrophizing, to our knowledge, have not been tested in patients undergoing knee arthroplasty. The purpose of this study was to determine whether pain coping skills training in persons with moderate to high pain catastrophizing undergoing knee arthroplasty improves outcomes 12 months postoperatively compared with usual care or arthritis education.
METHODS:
A multicenter, 3-arm, single-blinded, randomized comparative effectiveness trial was performed involving 5 university-based medical centers in the United States. There were 402 randomized participants. The primary outcome was the Western Ontario and McMaster Universities Osteoarthritis Index (WOMAC) Pain Scale, measured at baseline, 2 months, 6 months, and 12 months following the surgical procedure.
RESULTS:
Participants were recruited from January 2013 to June 2016. In 402 participants, 66% were women and the mean age of the participants (and standard deviation) was 63.2 ± 8.0 years. Three hundred and forty-six participants (90% of those who underwent a surgical procedure) completed a 12-month follow-up. All 3 treatment groups had large improvements in 12-month WOMAC pain scores with no significant differences (p > 0.05) among the 3 treatment arms. No differences were found between WOMAC pain scores at 12 months for the pain coping skills and arthritis education groups (adjusted mean difference, 0.3 [95% confidence interval (CI), -0.9 to 1.5]) or between the pain coping and usual-care groups (adjusted mean difference, 0.4 [95% CI, -0.7 to 1.5]). Secondary outcomes also showed no significant differences (p > 0.05) among the 3 groups.
CONCLUSIONS:
Among adults with pain catastrophizing undergoing knee arthroplasty, cognitive behaviorally based pain coping skills training did not confer pain or functional benefit beyond the large improvements achieved with usual surgical and postoperative care. Future research should develop interventions for the approximately 20% of patients undergoing knee arthroplasty who experience persistent function-limiting pain.
