Typologically similar Languages: Learning Vocabulary.

Second language learning research has proved the importance of L1 as a constant point of reference in hypotheses on L2. This is specially the case when dealing with the acquisition of vocabulary, when the connection between words and concepts is done through L1, especially in the first stages of the learning process. In this paper we will analyse some of the problems related to the acquisition of the vocabulary of Romance languages, especially Italian and Spanish, in two stages of the process: comprehension and production. In comprehension the inter-linguistic similarity between languages allows to activate quite rapidly the high level processes, oriented towards concepts, although sometimes they are hindered due to cases of tricking resemblance (false friends). In lexical production, the interference of linguistic similarities is greater. The risk of fossilization suggests an adequate contrastive approach in the teaching practice, based on the comparison of semantic and formal features, which will allow to keep the two languages distinct from one another. In the last part of this paper, some examples of hispanicisms in present-day Italian will be presented, in which we may observe the humorous connotation of the contact due to proximity and transparency, and almost exclusively linked to the leisure time domain (travelling, sport, music, gastronomy): an aspect to be valued adequately for an intercultural approach to L2 teaching

Translation and lexicography: a necessary dialogue

Firstly, the fields of Translation and Lexicography are compared and their similarities and differences are brought to the fore. Later, a review of the (slightly scarce) literature on the topic shows that most of the work has focused on how translators use dictionaries, how useful they are, and which kinds of dictionaries are preferred, among other similar issues. It is highlighted that lexicographers show little interest in the field of translation, at least as a source for dictionary building. A few potential avenues of research are defined, which could be beneficial for translators and lexicographers alike.Se comparan en primer lugar los campos de la Traducción y de la Lexicografía, poniendo de relieve las coincidencias y diferencias de tipo general que hay entre ambas disciplinas. A continuación se hace un repaso de la bibliografía (no demasiado extensa) sobre el tema, destacando que la mayoría de los trabajos se han centrado en el uso de los diccionarios por parte de los traductores, su utilidad, qué tipo de diccionarios prefieren estos y otros aspectos relacionados. Spanish and Italian in the second generation of Spanish-speaking migrants in Italy

A partir d'un corpus de 30 entrevistes sociolingüístiques semi-estructurades en llengua espanyola a joves migrants de diverses procedències llatinoamericanes (sobretot peruans i equatorians), aquest treball es proposa d'analitzar: 1) les principals línies de tendència relatives als usos i a les actituds lingüístiques, amb especial atenció a la percepció del contacte; 2) alguns exemples de la penetració de l'italià en l'espanyol, sobretot d'àmbit morfosintàctic i lèxic. Des d'una perspectiva discursiva, els fenòmens propis del contacte lingüístic (per ex. manlleus i canvi de codi) es tractaran com a estratègia que el parlant fa servir en una determinada situació comunicativa per afirmar la pròpia identitat plural

Oralización y polifonía en la lengua del turismo 2.0 : El caso de las plataformas de reserva hotelera

Tras unas breves reflexiones sobre los conceptos de oralización y de coloquialización (Briz 2013), este estudio se plantea enfocar algunas de las principales modalidades de oralización que caracterizan al discurso actual del turismo, y esbozar los rasgos de un género emergente, la plataforma de reserva hotelera (Booking, Atrápalo, Trivago, etc.), caracterizada por la inserción sistemática de los comentarios de los turistas en el discurso profesional. En el marco de la teoría de la argumentación (Anscombre y Ducrot, 1983; Fuentes Rodríguez y Alcaide Lara, 2002; Maingueneau, 2012) y de la teoría de la valoración (Kaplan, 2004; Martin y White, 2005; Thompson y Alba-Juez, 2014), el análisis se centrará en algunos fenómenos discursivos, con especial atención por la polifonía y la actitud.
