    Multi-wavelength study of the star-formation in the S237 H II region

    We present a detailed multi-wavelength study of observations from X-ray, near-infrared to centimeter wavelengths to probe the star formation processes in the S237 region. Multi-wavelength images trace an almost sphere-like shell morphology of the region, which is filled with the 0.5--2 keV X-ray emission. The region contains two distinct environments - a bell-shaped cavity-like structure containing the peak of 1.4 GHz emission at center, and elongated filamentary features without any radio detection at edges of the sphere-like shell - where {\it Herschel} clumps are detected. Using the 1.4 GHz continuum and 12^{12}CO line data, the S237 region is found to be excited by a radio spectral type of B0.5V star and is associated with an expanding H{\sc ii} region. The photoionized gas appears to be responsible for the origin of the bell-shaped structure. The majority of molecular gas is distributed toward a massive {\it Herschel} clump (Mclump_{clump} \sim260 M_{\odot}), which contains the filamentary features and has a noticeable velocity gradient. The photometric analysis traces the clusters of young stellar objects (YSOs) mainly toward the bell-shaped structure and the filamentary features. Considering the lower dynamical age of the H\,{\sc ii} region (i.e. 0.2-0.8 Myr), these clusters are unlikely to be formed by the expansion of the H\,{\sc ii} region. Our results also show the existence of a cluster of YSOs and a massive clump at the intersection of filamentary features, indicating that the collisions of these features may have triggered cluster formation, similar to those found in Serpens South region.Comment: 21 pages, 14 figures, 1 table, Accepted for publication in The Astrophysical Journa

    Validity of abundances derived from spaxel spectra of the MaNGA survey

    We measured the emission lines in the spaxel spectra of MaNGA galaxies in order to determine the abundance distributions therein. It has been suggested that the strength of the low-ionization lines, R_2, N_2, and S_2 may be increased (relative to Balmer lines) in (some) spaxel spectra of the MaNGA survey due to a contribution of the radiation of the diffuse ionized gas. Consequently, the abundances derived from the spaxel spectra through strong-line methods may suffer from large errors. We examined this expectation by comparing the behaviour of the line intensities and the abundances estimated through different calibrations for slit spectra of HII regions in nearby galaxies, for fibre spectra from the SDSS, and for spaxel spectra of the MaNGA survey. We found that the S_2 strength is increased significantly in the fibre and spaxel spectra. The mean enhancement changes with metallicity and can be as large as a factor of 2. The mean distortion of R_2 and N_2 is less than a factor of 1.3. This suggests that Kaufmann et al.'s demarcation line between AGNs and HII regions in the BPT diagram is a useful criterion to reject spectra with significantly distorted strengths of the N_2 and R_2 lines. We find that the three-dimensional R calibration, which uses the N_2 and R_2 lines, produces reliable abundances in the MaNGA galaxies. The one-dimensional N2 calibration produces either reliable or wrong abundances depending on whether excitation and N/O abundance ratio in the target region (spaxel) are close to or differ from those parameters in the calibrating points located close to the calibration relation. We then determined abundance distributions within the optical radii in the discs of 47 MaNGA galaxies.     Study of the filamentary infrared dark cloud G192.76+00.10 in the S254-S258 OB complex

    We present results of a high resolution study of the filamentary infrared dark cloud G192.76+00.10 in the S254-S258 OB complex in several molecular species tracing different physical conditions. These include three isotopologues of carbon monoxide (CO), ammonia (NH3_3), carbon monosulfide (CS). The aim of this work is to study the general structure and kinematics of the filamentary cloud, its fragmentation and physical parameters. The gas temperature is derived from the NH3_3 (J,K)=(1,1),(2,2)(J,K) = (1,1), (2,2) and 12^{12}CO(2--1) lines and the 13^{13}CO(1--0), 13^{13}CO(2--1) emission is used to investigate the overall gas distribution and kinematics. Several dense clumps are identified from the CS(2--1) data. Values of the gas temperature lie in the ranges 103510-35 K, column density N(H2)N(\mathrm{H}_2) reaches the value 5.1 1022^{22} cm2^{-2}. The width of the filament is of order 1 pc. The masses of the dense clumps range from 30 \sim 30 M_\odot to 160 \sim 160 M_\odot. They appear to be gravitationally unstable. The molecular emission shows a gas dynamical coherence along the filament.     In this article, the author outlines results of the 2016 Russian Census of Agriculture (VSHP-2016) and goes in detail reviewing questions related to the micro censuses of agriculture that in line with the Federal Law № 411-FZ from 1 December 2014 are conducted five years after a decennial agricultural census. This type of sample federal statistical survey of individual agricultural census items will require at least 30 percent of them to be selected.The article explores various ways to solve technical issues of conducting micro census. There is an alternative approach to conducting an agricultural micro census that focuses not on selecting individual census items but rather on municipal districts (urban districts), in which it is recommended to conduct a complete survey. Results of such sufficiently informative and less costly survey can, in the author’s opinion, without large sampling errors help identify new trends and structural shifts in the development of agriculture in the constituent entities of theRussian Federation, including their municipal units. It also allows for getting information on the size, composition and dynamics of its resources amidst the transition of all categories of farms to market relations and implementation of state target programs.В статье кратко характеризуются итоги Всероссийской сельскохозяйственной переписи 2016 года (ВСХП - 2016) и достаточно подробно рассматриваются вопросы, имеющие отношение к сельскохозяйственной микропереписи, которые в соответствии с федеральным законом № 411-ФЗ от 1 декабря 2014 г. проводятся через пять лет после основной сельскохозяйственной переписи с десятилетней периодичностью. Автор обращает внимание на то, что такое выборочное федеральное статистическое наблюдение предусматривает отбор не менее 30% объектов генеральной совокупности. Анализируются различные варианты решения методических вопросов проведения микропереписи. Предлагается альтернативный подход при проведении сельскохозяйственной микропереписин, ориентированный не на отбор отдельных объектов переписи, а на отбор муниципальных районов (городских округов), внутри которых рекомендуется провести сплошное обследование. По показателям такого, достаточно информативного и менее затратного, по мнению автора, обследования без больших ошибок выборки можно выявить новые тенденции и структурные сдвиги в развитии сельского хозяйства субъектов Российской Федерации, включая их муниципальные образования, получить сведения о размерах, составе и динамике его ресурсов в условиях перехода всех категорий хозяйств на рыночные отношения и реализации целевых государственных программ

    40 YEARS EXPERIENCE OF INTERLOCKING INTRAMEDULLARY METALLIC-POLYMERIC OSTEOSYNTHESIS IN TREATMENT OF 1200 PATIENTS WITH SHAFT FRACTURES

    The article comprises the main principles of interlocking intramedullary metallic-polymeric nailing (IIMPN) and the experience of its implementation in 1200 cases of shaft fractures during the period of 40 years. Three generations of metallic-polymeric nails and techniques for closed, semi-closed and open IIMPN were designed. The nails can successfully be interlocked with proximal and distal bone fragments without an intraoperative X-ray control. Therefore, the operation can be made in any hospital capable of surgical treatment of fractures. Unlike interlocking metallic nailing, the dynamic variant of IIMPN makes the additional operation of dynamization unnecessary. CMPN-3 and CMPN-2 nails have options of intraoperative axial and lateromedial compression between fragments, which is impossible in interlocking metallic nailing. The carving conjunction between screws and polymer, which flexibility is close to that of the bone, excludes critical concentration of tensions and considerable dynamic loadings, and therefore prevents fractures of the interlocking screws.     The disk-outflow system in the S255IR area of high mass star formation

    We report the results of our observations of the S255IR area with the SMA at 1.3 mm in the very extended configuration and at 0.8 mm in the compact configuration as well as with the IRAM-30m at 0.8 mm. The best achieved angular resolution is about 0.4 arcsec. The dust continuum emission and several tens of molecular spectral lines are observed. The majority of the lines is detected only towards the S255IR-SMA1 clump, which represents a rotating structure (probably disk) around the young massive star. The achieved angular resolution is still insufficient for conclusions about Keplerian or non-Keplerian character of the rotation. The temperature of the molecular gas reaches 130-180 K. The size of the clump is about 500 AU. The clump is strongly fragmented as follows from the low beam filling factor. The mass of the hot gas is significantly lower than the mass of the central star. A strong DCN emission near the center of the hot core most probably indicates a presence of a relatively cold (80\lesssim 80 K) and rather massive clump there. High velocity emission is observed in the CO line as well as in lines of high density tracers HCN, HCO+, CS and other molecules. The outflow morphology obtained from combination of the SMA and IRAM-30m data is significantly different from that derived from the SMA data alone. The CO emission detected with the SMA traces only one boundary of the outflow. The outflow is most probably driven by jet bow shocks created by episodic ejections from the center. We detected a dense high velocity clump associated apparently with one of the bow shocks.     Molecular abundance ratios as a tracer of accelerated collapse in regions of high mass star formation?

    Recent observations suggest that the behaviour of tracer species such as N_2H+ and CS is significantly different in regions of high and low mass star formation. In the latter, N_2H+ is a good tracer of mass, while CS is not. Observations show the reverse to be true in high-mass star formation regions. We use a computational chemical model to show that the abundances of these and other species may be significantly altered by a period of accelerated collapse in high mass star forming regions.     Deficient auditory emotion processing but intact emotional multisensory integration in alexithymia

    Alexithymia has been associated with emotion recognition deficits in both auditory and visual domains. Although emotions are inherently multimodal in daily life, little is known regarding abnormalities of emotional multisensory integration (eMSI) in relation to alexithymia. Here, we employed an emotional Stroop-like audiovisual task while recording event-related potentials (ERPs) in individuals with high alexithymia levels (HA) and low alexithymia levels (LA). During the task, participants had to indicate whether a voice was spoken in a sad or angry prosody while ignoring the simultaneously presented static face which could be either emotionally congruent or incongruent to the human voice. We found that HA performed worse and showed higher P2 amplitudes than LA independent of emotion congruency. Furthermore, difficulties in identifying and describing feelings were positively correlated with the P2 component, and P2 correlated negatively with behavioral performance. Bayesian statistics showed no group differences in eMSI and classical integration-related ERP components (N1 and N2). Although individuals with alexithymia indeed showed deficits in auditory emotion recognition as indexed by decreased performance and higher P2 amplitudes, the present findings suggest an intact capacity to integrate emotional information from multiple channels in alexithymia. Our work provides valuable insights into the relationship between alexithymia and neuropsychological mechanisms of emotional multisensory integration
