    Analysis of Transverse Vibration Acceleration of a High-Speed Elevator with Random Parameters under Random Excitation

    The randomness of a high-speed elevator car system’s parameters was caused by manufacturing and installation error. In order to more accurately evaluate the dynamic behavior of the elevator car, the compound vibration problems containing both random excitation and random parameters were studied. The deterministic part and random part of the acceleration response were derived by the perturbation theory, and the vibration image in the time domain and frequency domain were analyzed. The sensitivity expressions of each parameter to the system response were established in the random vibration system. The acceleration standard deviation due to random excitation was calculated by the pseudo excitation method. The acceleration standard deviation due to the random parameters was obtained according to the displacement response covariance matrix and random parameters covariance matrix. The discrete degree of random excitation and random parameters on the transverse acceleration of the car was analyzed in an example, and the influence degree of each parameter on acceleration responses was quantitatively described by calculating the response sensitivity of random parameters. This paper provides an effective method for the analysis of the vibration characteristics of the high speed elevator car system

    TLS-bridged co-prediction of tree-level multifarious stem structure variables from worldview-2 panchromatic imagery: a case study of the boreal forest

    In forest ecosystem studies, tree stem structure variables (SSVs) proved to be an essential kind of parameters, and now simultaneously deriving SSVs of as many kinds as possible at large scales is preferred for enhancing the frontier studies on marcoecosystem ecology and global carbon cycle. For this newly emerging task, satellite imagery such as WorldView-2 panchromatic images (WPIs) is used as a potential solution for co-prediction of tree-level multifarious SSVs, with static terrestrial laser scanning (TLS) assumed as a ‘bridge’. The specific operation is to pursue the allometric relationships between TLS-derived SSVs and WPI-derived feature parameters, and regression analyses with one or multiple explanatory variables are applied to deduce the prediction models (termed as Model1s and Model2s). In the case of Picea abies, Pinus sylvestris, Populus tremul and Quercus robur in a boreal forest, tests showed that Model1s and Model2s for different tree species can be derived (e.g. the maximum R2 = 0.574 for Q. robur). Overall, this study basically validated the algorithm proposed for co-prediction of multifarious SSVs, and the contribution is equivalent to developing a viable solution for SSV-estimation upscaling, which is useful for large-scale investigations of forest understory, macroecosystem ecology, global vegetation dynamics and global carbon cycle.This work was financially supported in part by the National Natural Science Foundation of China [grant numbers 41471281 and 31670718] and in part by the SRF for ROCS, SEM, China.     Population structure analysis and genome-wide association study of a hexaploid oat landrace and cultivar collection

    IntroductionOat (Avena sativa L.) is an important cereal crop grown worldwide for grain and forage, owing to its high adaptability to diverse environments. However, the genetic and genomics research of oat is lagging behind that of other staple cereal crops. MethodsIn this study, a collection of 288 oat lines originating worldwide was evaluated using 2,213 single nucleotide polymorphism (SNP) markers obtained from an oat iSelect 6K-beadchip array to study its genetic diversity, population structure, and linkage disequilibrium (LD) as well as the genotype–phenotype association for hullessness and lemma color.ResultsThe average gene diversity and polymorphic information content (PIC) were 0.324 and 0.262, respectively. The first three principal components (PCs) accounted for 30.33% of the genetic variation, indicating that the population structure of this panel of oat lines was stronger than that reported in most previous studies. In addition, accessions could be classified into two subpopulations using a Bayesian clustering approach, and the clustering pattern of accessions was closely associated with their region of origin. Additionally, evaluation of LD decay using 2,143 mapped markers revealed that the intrachromosomal whole-genome LD decayed rapidly to a critical r2 value of 0.156 for marker pairs separated by a genetic distance of 1.41 cM. Genome-wide association study (GWAS) detected six significant associations with the hullessness trait. Four of these six markers were located on the Mrg21 linkage group between 194.0 and 205.7 cM, while the other two significant markers mapped to Mrg05 and Mrg09. Three significant SNPs, showing strong association with lemma color, were located on linkage groups Mrg17, Mrg18, and Mrg20.DiscussionOur results discerned relevant patterns of genetic diversity, population structure, and LD among members of a worldwide collection of oat landraces and cultivars proposed to be ‘typical’ of the Qinghai-Tibetan Plateau. These results have important implications for further studies on association mapping and practical breeding in high-altitude oat

    Analysis of Changes in Precipitation and Drought in Aksu River Basin, Northwest China

    The analysis of the spatiotemporal trends of precipitation and drought is relevant for the future development and sustainable management of water resources in a given region. In this study, precipitation and Standardized Precipitation Index (SPI) trends were analyzed through applying linear regression, Mann-Kendall, and Spearman's Rho tests at the 5% significance level. For this goal, meteorological data from 9 meteorological stations in and around Aksu Basin during the period 1960-2010 was used, and two main annual drought periods were detected (1978-1979 and 1983-1986), while the extremely dry years were recorded in 1975 and 1985 at almost all of the stations. The monthly analysis of precipitation series indicates that all stations had increasing trend in July, October, and December, while both increasing and decreasing trends were found in other months. For the seasonal scale, precipitation series had increasing trends in summer and winter. 33% of the stations had the decreasing trend on precipitation in the spring series, and it was 11% in the autumn. At the same time, the SPI-12 values of all stations had the increasing trend. The significant trends were detected at Aheqi, Baicheng, Keping, and Kuche stations

    Changes in Cortical Thickness in Patients With Early Parkinson’s Disease at Different Hoehn and Yahr Stages

    Objectives: This study was designed to explore changes in cortical thickness in patients with early Parkinson’s disease (PD) at different Hoehn and Yahr (H-Y) stages and to demonstrate the association of abnormally altered brain regions with part III of the Unified Parkinson’s Disease Rating Scale (UPDRS-III).Materials and Methods: Sixty early PD patients and 29 age- and gender-matched healthy controls (HCs) were enrolled in this study. All PD patients underwent comprehensive clinical and neuropsychological evaluations and 3.0 T magnetic resonance scanning. Patients with H-Y stage ≤1.5 were included in the mild group, and all other patients were included in the moderate group. FreeSurfer software was used to calculate cortical thickness. We assessed the relationship between UPDRS-III and regional changes in cortical thinning, including the bilateral fusiform and the temporal lobe.Results: The average cortical thickness of the temporal pole, fusiform gyrus, insula of the left hemisphere and fusiform gyrus, isthmus cingulate cortex, inferior temporal gyrus, middle temporal cortex and posterior cingulate cortex of the right hemisphere exhibited significant decreasing trends in HCs group and PD groups (i.e., the mild group and moderate group). After controlling for the effects of age, gender, and disease duration, the UPDRS-III scores in patients with early PD were correlated with the cortical thickness of the left and right fusiform gyrus and the left temporal pole (p < 0.05).Conclusion: The average cortical thickness of specific brain regions reduced with increasing disease severity in early PD patients at different H-Y stages, and the UPDRS-III scores of early PD patients were correlated with cortical thickness of the bilateral fusiform gyrus and the left temporal pole

    The correlation of αα\alpha\alpha was probed via measuring the transverse momentum pTp_{T} and width δpT\delta p_{T} of one α\alpha, for the first time, which represents the spatial and dynamical essentialities of the initial coupling state in 8^{8}Be nucleus. The weighted interaction vertex of 3α\alpha reflected by the magnitudes of their relative momentums and relative emission angles proves the isosceles triangle configuration for 3α\alpha at the high excited energy analogous Hoyle states.Comment: 8 pages, 9 figure

    Variation of Tensor Force due to Nuclear Medium Effect

    The enhancement of Jπ(T)J^{\pi}(T)=3+^{+}(0) state with isospin T=0T=0 excited by the tensor force in the free 6^{6}Li nucleus has been observed, for the first time, relative to a shrinkable excitation in the 6^{6}Li cluster component inside its host nucleus. Comparatively, the excitation of Jπ(T)J^{\pi}(T)=0+^{+}(1) state with isospin T=1T=1 for these two 6^{6}Li formations take on an approximately equal excitation strength. The mechanism of such tensor force effect was proposed due to the intensive nuclear medium role on isospin TT=0 state.Comment: 6 pages, 4 figure

    Multi-alpha Boson Gas state in Fusion Evaporation Reaction and Three-body Force

    The experimental evidence for the α\alpha Boson gas state in the 11^{11}C+12^{12}C\rightarrow23^{23}Mg^{\ast} fusion evaporation reaction is presented. By measuring the α\alpha emission spectrum with multiplicity 2 and 3, we provide insight into the existence of a three-body force among α\alpha particles. The observed spectrum exhibited distinct tails corresponding to α\alpha particles emitted in pairs and triplets consistent well with the model-calculations of AV18-UX and chiral effective field theory of NV2-3-la*, indicating the formation of α\alpha clusters with three-body force in the Boson gas state.Comment: 7 pages, 6 figure
