Relativistic free-particle quantization on the light-front: New aspects

We use the light-front machinery to study the behavior of a relativistic free particle and obtain the quantum commutation relations from the classical Poisson brackets. We use the light front ``machinery'' to study the behavior of a relativistic free particle and obtain the quantum commutation relations from the classical Poisson brackets. We argue that their usual projection onto the light-front coordinates from the covariant commutation relations show that there is an inconsistency in the expected correlation between canonically conjugate variables ``time'' and ``energy''. Moreover we show that this incompatibility originates from the very definition of the Poisson brackets that is employed and present a simple remedy to this problem and envisages a profound physical implication on the whole process of quantization.Comment: 13 page

Es un estudio descriptivo-interpretativo de casos. Considerando el carácter social, didáctico, semiótico, comunicativo y multimodal de las clases de ciencias, seleccionamos el referente teórico aportado por Ogborn (1996). HUNK Phosphorylates Rubicon to Support Autophagy

Background: Autophagy is a catabolic cellular recycling pathway that is essential for maintaining intracellular homeostasis. Autophagosome formation is achieved via the coordination of the Beclin-1 protein complex. Rubicon is a Beclin-1 associated protein that suppresses autophagy by impairing the activity of the class III PI3K, Vps34. However, very little is known about the molecular mechanisms that regulate Rubicon function. Methods: In this study, co-immunoprecipitation and kinase assays were used to investigate the ability of Hormonally Upregulated Neu-associated Kinase (HUNK) to bind to and phosphorylate Rubicon. LC3B was monitored by immunofluorescence and immunoblotting to determine whether phosphorylation of Rubicon by HUNK controls the autophagy suppressive function of Rubicon. Results: Findings from this study identify Rubicon as a novel substrate of HUNK and show that phosphorylation of Rubicon inhibits its function, promoting autophagy

Development of a Woven-Grid Quasi-Bipolar Battery

This report describes an analytical and experimental investigation of AeroVironment's Quasi-Bipolar battery concept. The modelling/battery design part of the study demonstrates that there is a trade-off between thermal and specified electrical performance. Even so, quasi-bipolar batteries can be designed, with ten times better thermal uniformity, that meet or exceed current state-of-the-art hybrid-electric vehicle battery pack performance, even using the same active materials. The thermal uniformity, power, and energy for these quasi-bipolar battery packs is projected to be very good. The experimental part of the investigation demonstrates the concept of the quasi-bipolar plate applied to a lead foil current collector wrapping around two sides of an inexpensive plastic film core. Approximately 50 quasi-biplate samples were fabricated using a hot laminating press. Hot lamination with "texture" between the plastic and lead shows some promise as a low cost method for fabricating the plates. Five of these plates were assembled into two cells plus one two-cell battery. Data from these test cells were compared with existing data for similar true bipolar batteries. The positive side of the plates exhibited corrosion where not protected by the active material

Effect of the Addition of Soy Protein (Glycine Max Merryl) on the Composition of Cooked Ham

The present study aimed to assess the bromatological composition when soy protein was added in the preparation of cooked ham. An experimental approach was used. There were three treatments in which 2.50% (T1), 5.00% (T2) and 7.50% (T3) soy protein was added; these were compared to a control treatment (T0). A randomized design was applied and means were analyzed according to Tukey at 5%. The following laboratory tests were carried out in the ham finished product: bromatological analysis, microbiological analysis and sensory analysis. The results obtained were as follows: fiber: 2.27%; humidity: 63.53%; fat: 7.47%; protein: 20.23%; ash: 1.83%; and carbohydrates: 4.68%. Significant differences were found between the addition of 7.50% of soy protein compared to the 0% control treatment. It can be concluded from the results that the addition of soy protein to ham increases the content of fiber, fat, protein, ash and carbohydrates, and the best treatment without affecting the characteristics of the finished product is the addition of 7.50% soy protein. Keywords: meat products, ham, soy protein. RESUMEN El presente estudio tiene como objetivo adicionar proteína de soya en la elaboración de jamón cocido y valorar la composición bromatológica. El método utilizado en la investigación es experimental manejando tres tratamientos en los cuales se añadió proteína de soya en 2,50 (T1), 5,00 (T2) y 7,50 (T3)%, que se los comparó a un tratamiento control (T0), se aplicó un diseño completamente al azar y separación de medias según Tukey al 5%, en el jamón como producto terminado, se realizaron las siguientes pruebas de laboratorio; análisis bromatológico, análisis sensorial.  Los resultados obtenidos de fibra (2,27%), humedad (63,53%), grasa (7,47%), proteína (20,23%), ceniza (1,83%) y carbohidratos (4,68%), se encontró diferencias significativas entre la adición de 7,50% de proteína de soya frente al tratamiento control 0%. Con los resultados se puede aludir que las formulaciones de jamón con adición de proteína de soya, aumenta los contenido de fibra, grasa, proteína, ceniza y carbohidratos  en relación a un tratamiento control, se puede establecer  que el mejor tratamiento es con la adición del 7,50% de proteína de soya sin que afecte las características del producto terminado Palabras claves: productos cárnicos, jamón, proteína de soya

Valoración epistémica del proceso de formación y desarrollo de competencias directivas

This article presents the problem of defining the concept of “competence”, due to it being an integral and complex term that has been applied in many domains as well as in a more general sense for everyday life. However, no doubt, a competence can only be tested and valuated in the practice, and it is a person who becomes competent in a context for a certain function. This is why there are many different conceptions in the literature regarding this issue; it’s a consequence of its imprecise, variable character. However, the position profiles (mainly in educational entities) and the acceptation/ graduation profiles are being more and more frequently established in terms of competences. This paper intends to check what has been valuated and written about the managerial competences training and development regarding the educational field, in order to obtain conclusions regarding its dimension in the school level.En el artículo se expresa la problemática acerca de la definición del concepto de competencia debido, en parte, a que es un término integral y complejo, y a que se ha aplicado en diversos ámbitos, así como en sentido general, para la vida. Pero, sin lugar a dudas, ella solo puede comprobarse en la acción, y es la persona quien se vuelve competente en contexto para una determinada función. De ahí que en la literatura se observen concepciones diferentes en torno a esta problemática, lo cual se deriva de su carácter impreciso y variable. Sin embargo, cada vez con mayor asiduidad, los perfiles de puesto (sobre todo en entidades educativas) y los de ingreso/egreso son establecidos en términos de competencias.
