    The Perception of Migrant Workers About the Psychological Difficulties

    The present study examined migrant workers' perceptions of psychological difficulties in a sample of 689 migrant workers in Binh Duong province,VietNam. Participants' ages ranged from 18 to above 35 years old at several companies in Binh Duong province. This study was analyzed based on a questionnaire that measured the level of psychological difficulty. A three-step data analysis plan was indicated that included: mean and standardize, correlation, and t-test. Research indicated that (1) The factor of internal psychological difficulties of migrant workers more than the factor of external psychological difficulties. (2) There is a correlation between internal psychological needs and external psychological needs. (3) Gender differences in psychological difficulty were observed. In addition, this study shows the perception of migrant workers about psychological difficulties at work

    Synodality as the Listening Church: Pope Francis Continues and Expands Vatican II\u27s Teaching on Collegiality

    At the Ceremony Commemorating the 50th Anniversary of the Institution of the Synod of Bishops, 17 October 2015, Pope Francis affirmed that synodality is an essential dimension of the Church, and it is what the Lord asks the Church in the third millennium. The goal of this thesis is to investigate the origins and history of the concept of synodality in the life and mission of the Church in the light of theology and doctrine. The theoretical intention is to study what is old and what is new in Pope Francis’s idea of synodality and how the old is made new in his vision of the synodal way. In completing the analysis, I want to raise some issues about the limits of his theology: what are to be the parameters and practices of synodality in the global Catholic Church of today

    Pesticide Use and Management in the Mekong Delta and their Residues in Surface and Drinking Water

    Pesticides are essential inputs in agricultural production to control target pests and thus to improve crop yields. Appropriate use and management of these chemicals and reduction of its negative influences on human health and the environment are global concerns. In the Mekong Delta, Vietnam, an area which contributes more than 90% to the country’s rice exports, pesticides have been increasingly applied since the so called Doi Moi (renovation). In this present study, two representative areas were selected to conduct different studies related to 1) pesticide use and management at household level, 2) resulting residue concentrations in surface water in fields and irrigation canals, 3) treatment practices of surface water for the purpose of drinking, and 4) pesticide concentrations in drinking water derived from surface water. One study area is characterized by intensive rice cultivation in Tam Nong District, Dong Thap Province, while the second area was selected as a representative for a peri-urban site mixed agricultural production pattern in Cai Rang District, Can Tho City. Surveys and monitoring campaign were carried out from August 2008 to August 2009. Survey results indicated that a majority of respondent farmers improperly used and managed pesticides. The study found that organochlorine and organophosphorus pesticides were less used while several pesticide groups such as pyrethroid, conazole, biopesticide and amide were being frequently applied. Half of investigated pesticides belong to moderately and slightly hazardous categories according to WHO hazard classification. 12 out of 15 studied pesticides (buprofezin, butachlor, cypermethrin, difenozonazole, α-endosulfan, β-endosulfan, endosulfan-sulfate, fenobucarb, fipronil, hexaconazole, isoprothiolane, pretilachlor, profenofos, propanil and propiconazole) were quantified in surface water in fields and irrigation canals, with average concentrations ranging from 0.02 to 3.34 μg/L and from 0.01 to 0.37 μg/L at the intensive rice cultivation and mixed agricultural production areas, respectively. Monitoring of pesticide residues in drinking water quantified seven out of 15 studied pesticides, with average concentrations ranging from 0.01 to 0.47 μg/L. The study also revealed that aluminium sulfate and boiling practice, frequently applied to treat surface water for drinking by respondent farmers, unfortunately could not remove the most of studied pesticides from drinking water. Consequently, as compared to European Commission guideline values for drinking water local people were exposed to several pesticides which might pose their health at risk. The present study provides and discusses possibly measures in order to improve pesticide management practices as well as to decrease pesticide inputs into water ecosystems and thus reduce the exposure of (rural) people to these potentially harmful chemicals

    Toward nonlinear stability of sources via a modified Burgers equation

    Coherent structures are solutions to reaction-diffusion systems that are time-periodic in an appropriate moving frame and spatially asymptotic at x=±∞x=\pm\infty to spatially periodic travelling waves. This paper is concerned with sources which are coherent structures for which the group velocities in the far field point away from the core. Sources actively select wave numbers and therefore often organize the overall dynamics in a spatially extended system. Determining their nonlinear stability properties is challenging as localized perturbations may lead to a non-localized response even on the linear level due to the outward transport. Using a modified Burgers equation as a model problem that captures some of the essential features of coherent structures, we show how this phenomenon can be analysed and nonlinear stability be established in this simpler context.Comment: revised version with some typos fixe

    Application of chitosan solutions for rice production in Vietnam

    Preparing chitosan solutions from shrimp shells for rice production was investigated. The chitosan produced from shrimp shells using dilute acetic acid proved effective in controlling plants infection by microbial agents leading to higher yields. The field data of our studies showed that the yields of rice significantly increased (~31%) after applying chitosan solution.     Determination of dynamic impact factor for continuous girder bridge due to vehicle braking force by finite element method and experimental

    In this study, the finite element method (FEM) is used to investigate the dynamic response of continuous girder bridge due to moving three-axle vehicle . Vertical reaction forces of axles that change with time make bending vibration of girder significantly  increase. The braking in the first span is able to create response in other spans. In addition, the dynamic impact factors are investigated by both FEM and experiment for Hoa Xuan bridge. The results of this study provide an improved understanding of the bridge dynamic behavior and can be used as additional references for bridge codes by practicing engineers

    Co-simulation of self-adjusting fuzzy PI controller for the robot with two-axes system

    This paper presents the co-simulation of the self-adjusting fuzzy PI controller to control a two-axes system. Each axis was driven by a permanent magnet linear synchronous motor (PMLSM). The position and speed controller used the fuzzy PI algorithm with parameters adjusted by a radial basis function neural network (RBFNN). The vector control was applied to the decoupled effect of the PMLSM. The field programmable gate array (FPGA) was used to control both axes of the system. The very high-speed integrated circuit-hardware description language (VHDL) was developed in the Quartus II software environment, provided by Altera, to analyze and synthesize designs. Firstly, the mathematical model of PMLSM and fuzzy PI was introduced. Secondly, the RBFNN adjusted the knowledge base of the fuzzy PI. Thirdly, the motion trajectory was introduced for testing the control algorithm. Fourthly, the implementation of the controller based on FPGA with the FSM method and the structure of co-simulation between Matlab/Simulink and ModelSim were set up. Finally, discussion about the results proved the effectiveness of the control system, determining the exact position and trajectory of the XY axis system. This research was successful in implementing a two-motor controller within one chip

    APPLICATION OF FUZZY LOGIC FOR CONTROLLING MECHANISM OF RELATIVE MANIPULATION ROBOT (MRM ROBOT)

    In robot control, mathematical equations describing dynamic behaviors of robots are usually complicated. Additionally, the components such as inertial and friction parameters appearing in these equations are very difficult to determine exactly. With robots having complex structure such as parallel robots, MRM robots etc., the derivation of dynamic equations becomes more difficult and sometimes cannot obtain analytically. In those cases, controlling robot based on its equations of motion is quite hard. Applying fuzzy logic for robot control can overcome the mentioned drawbacks. This is because fuzzy control algorithm gives favorable condition to deal with the lack of adequation as well as inaccuracy of components in robot’s dynamic equations. Furthermore, the fuzzy rules are created by clauses which based on human logic, so it is easily to understand and implement. This paper discusses the application of fuzzy logic for controlling MRM robots. To compare the results obtained from fuzzy control, this paper are also adressed the use of the computed torque algorithm to control MRM robot

    It deals with preparation, characterization, and catalytic testing of Rh supported catalysts based on MOFs using hydroformylation as a model reaction. The influence of the MOF support on the catalytic performance (Structure-Catalytic Property-Relationships) is emphasized. Different MOF structures and pore sizes were synthesized, Rh immobilized, characterized, and tested. Results show that single site catalysts are achieved. The catalytic performance is affected by the structure, texture, and porosity of the MOF support. The linker orientation is of importance leading to single-file diffusion
