Le industrie dei trasporti marittimi fra i primi anni '80 e l'inizio del 2000

Nello scritto, gli sviluppi, le alternanze di andamento, i cambiamenti più importanti di composizione, del commercio via mare, del naviglio mercantile esistente nel mondo e nell'attività e localizzazione dell'industria delle costruzioni navali, intervenuti nel periodo sotto osservazione, vengono considerati congiuntamente alla evoluzione sia della innovatività, sia delle figure ed istituzioni operative caratterizzanti il sistema dei settori produttivi presi in esame, nonché alla contemporanea evoluzione della politica marittima e degli ordinamento e modelli di gestione portuale. Lo svolgimento del lavoro, specialmente nella parte concernente gli elementi di carattere quantitativo, risente, come si vedrà, della circostanza che la disponibilità dei dati fino al1998 e 1999, per ragioni facilmente comprensibili, è sensibilmente diversa e più ampia, rispetto a quella degli ultimi uno-due anni. Nel corso dei quali sono altresì sopravvenuti fattori generali di cambiamento della situazione in cui operano i traffici e le industrie dei trasporti marittimi, di ben notevole significato, dall' accentuarsi di tendenze recessive dell'economia negli USA, in Europa e in Estremo Oriente, alle tragiche vicende del settembre 2001 negli Stati Uniti e al conseguente peggioramento degli orizzonti politici internazionali

The shape modulation of osteoblast–osteocytetransformation and its correlationwith the fibrillar organization in secondary osteons: A SEM study employing the graded osmic maceration technique

Cortex fractured surface and graded osmic maceration techniques were used to study the secretory activity of osteoblasts, the transformation of osteoblast to osteocytes, and the structural organization of the matrix around the cells with scanning electron microscopy (SEM). A specialized membrane differentiation at the base of the cell was observed with finger-like, flattened processes which formed a diffuse meshwork. These findings suggested that this membrane differentiation below the cells had not only functioned in transporting collagen through the membrane but also in orienting the fibrils once assembled. Thin ramifications arose from the large and flat membrane foldings oriented perpendicular to the plane of the osteoblasts. This meshwork of fine filaments could not be visualized with SEM because they were obscured within the matrix substance. Their 3-D structure, however, should be similar to the canalicular system. The meshwork of large, flattened processes was no more evident in the cells which had completed their transformation into osteocytes

Search for new particles in events with energetic jets and large missing transverse momentum in proton-proton collisions at root s=13 TeV

A search is presented for new particles produced at the LHC in proton-proton collisions at root s = 13 TeV, using events with energetic jets and large missing transverse momentum. The analysis is based on a data sample corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 101 fb(-1), collected in 2017-2018 with the CMS detector. Machine learning techniques are used to define separate categories for events with narrow jets from initial-state radiation and events with large-radius jets consistent with a hadronic decay of a W or Z boson. A statistical combination is made with an earlier search based on a data sample of 36 fb(-1), collected in 2016. No significant excess of events is observed with respect to the standard model background expectation determined from control samples in data. The results are interpreted in terms of limits on the branching fraction of an invisible decay of the Higgs boson, as well as constraints on simplified models of dark matter, on first-generation scalar leptoquarks decaying to quarks and neutrinos, and on models with large extra dimensions. Several of the new limits, specifically for spin-1 dark matter mediators, pseudoscalar mediators, colored mediators, and leptoquarks, are the most restrictive to date.Peer reviewe

Funzione economica e politica fiscale del "Registro internazionale" italiano di immatricolazione navale

La competizione economica globale – come si dice sovente in Economia Regionale ai giorni nostri – è destinata sempre meno ad essere una concorrenza fra singole unità produttive, sia pure ancorate al territorio ds una normale scelta locativa, e sempre più una concorrenza fra sistemi economici a base territoriale. Il registro bis può rappresentare lo strumento adatto per sfruttare la chance storica che al Paese si presenta per l’industria armatoriale e la marina mercantile. Ma perché lo strumento sia efficace in vista delle finalità da conseguire, è indispensabile che l’”immagine” e la “qualità” delle condizioni offerte dall’Italia con il registro internazionale siano tali da provocare la convergenza dell’attenzione degli ambienti marittimi internazionali, specialmente dei più importanti e influenti a scala mondiale; e non da indurli a considerare la scelta che la riguarda, come “da non prendere in considerazione”. E siano altresì tali da mettere l’industria armatoriale del Paese in condizione di trattare con successo alleanze, concentrazioni, combinazioni e collaborazioni con chi, nelle misure più rilevanti, rappresenta tale mondo e tale insieme di ambienti

The paper aims at pointing out the role of maritime and port industries of European Countries. A particular attention is paid to Italy within the global economic competition context. Moreover, the paper stresses the importance for merchant fleets in running intermodal ports and terminals. In Italy, the lack of an important fleet is the reason why almost all terminals containers are run by foreign company (e.g. Genoa, Trieste and Taranto). In this context, the recent law that establishes an off-shore register seems to result rather ineffective due to the choice of a fiscal discount based on taxable income and not on a more objective base (for all actors playing the global competition) such as the registered tonnage
