With the rapid growth of the importance of business analytics in recent years, academics and experts have been thinking about ways in which they can incorporate the changes these technologies bring to their competitive strategy. The framework builds on previous empirical work on Business Analytics for competitive advantage in companies from 2017 to 2021. The information-gathering strategy identified 177,678 articles from digital libraries such as IEEE Xplore, ARDI, Taylor & Francis Online, ScienceDirect, Microsoft Academic, IOPscience, Google Scholar, ACM Digital Library, Scopus and ProQuest, of which 71 articles based on exclusion criteria were considered. Therefore, this article aims to provide a systematic review of the literature that can determine the state of the art about experimental research carried out on Business Analytics (BA) and its effectiveness in the Competitive Advantage of Organizations. To this end, 71 articles of great relevance were identified and reviewed; This allowed us to answer each of the questions planned in the investigation

The Multiple Origins of Roe Deer Populations in Western Iberia and Their Relevance for Conservation

    Get PDF
The roe deer (Capreolus capreolus) is native and widespread in Europe and its phylogeography has been clarified in the last decades. Southern peninsulas are considered as reservoirs of genetic diversity and the source for the recolonization of Europe after the last glacial maximum. Even though roe deer populations have been genetically characterized, there is a major knowledge gap about the populations at the western edge of its distribution. To fill this caveat, and based on mitochondrial and nuclear DNA data, we aim to: (i) characterize the genetic diversity and structure of roe deer in western Iberia; (ii) clarify the origins and phylogeographical affinities of these populations, namely the relict population from Peneda Gerês National Park (PNPG, Portugal) and the likely allochthonous populations from central and south (CS) Portugal; (iii) discuss the implications of our findings for the management and conservation of the roe deer. Three major genetic clusters were inferred based on nuclear genotypes and were structured in a similar way as the three major mtDNA clades present in Iberia. Patterns inferred with nuclear markers confirmed PNPG as a relict population. Roe deer from CS Portugal share haplotypes with Central Europe rather than with other western Iberian populations, confirming its mainly allochthonous origin. Our results highlight western Iberia as a diversity hotspot for roe deer. We highlight the role of intraspecific genetic diversity as a source of resilience against ongoing global changes; the need for transboundary management and the importance of genetic data to inform management and conservation. When considered, repopulation or translocation measures should follow the IUCN Law of Reintroductions and meticulously conducted in order to preserve the genetic heritage of the species

NO Oxidation on Lanthanum-Doped Ceria Nanoparticles with Controlled Morphology

    Get PDF
The present work aims to assess the impact of morphology and reducibility on lanthanum-doped ceria nanocatalysts with controlled morphology on the NO oxidation reaction. Specifically, samples were prepared using a hydrothermal method incorporating lanthanum at varying molar concentrations (0, 5, 10, and 15 mol.%) into ceria with a controlled morphology (nanocubes and nanorods). The structural, compositional, and redox characterization of these catalysts has been performed via scanning transmission electron microscopy (STEM), X-ray diffraction (XRD), X-ray energy dispersive spectroscopy (X-EDS), inductively coupled plasma (ICP), hydrogen temperature-programmed reduction (H2-TPR), and oxygen storage capacity (OSC). NO oxidation catalytic tests were conducted, and the results were compared with estimated curves (obtained by considering the proportions of the corresponding components), which revealed the presence of a synergistic effect between lanthanum and ceria. The degree of enhancement was found to depend on both the morphology and the amount of lanthanum incorporated into CeO2. These findings may facilitate the optimization of features concerning ceria-based nanocatalysts for the removal of NOx emissions from exhaust gases. This research was funded by Generalitat Valenciana (CIPROM/2021/070 project), the Spanish Ministry of Science and Innovation/Research Spanish Agency (PID2019-105542RB-I00/AEI/10.13039/501100011033, PID2020-113006RB-I00/AEI/10.13039/501100011033 and PID2020-113809RB-C33 projects), and UE-FEDER funding

The objective of this work was to study the influence of different levels of thermal stress from the environment, including comfort levels (25 °C), heat stress (28 °C), moderate heat(31 °C), high heat (34 °C) and severe heat (37 °C), on the performance of broilers in the late growth (22-42 days), housed in environmental chambers. It has been determined the physiological and behavioral parameters of chickens (weight gain (WG), day weight gain (DWG), feed intake (FI), feed conversion ratio (FC), mortality (MORT), percentage of carcass of age as body weight (BW), carcass (CAR), breast (Bre), drumstick (Drum), wings (Win)), according the specific ranges of temperature; and was calculated the Temperature Index Black Globe Humidity (BGHI), for control and evaluation of the thermal environment of the treatments. In general, birds kept in temperature between 25-28 °C, during the three last week of life, performed better than those exposed to other situations, and indicating this would be the ambient temperature to the desired setting for birds in its final phase, compared with the other treatments, including those who remained at recommended temperature as thermal comfort throughout the experimental period.

    Get PDF
Background. the vaccine efficacy (VE) of 1 or 2 doses of AS03-adjuvanted influenza A(H1N1) vaccine relative to that of 2 doses of nonadjuvanted influenza A(H1N1) vaccine in children 6 months to <10 years of age in a multinational study conducted during 2010-2011.Methods. A total of 6145 children were randomly assigned at a ratio of 1: 1: 1 to receive 2 injections 21 days apart of A/California/7/2009(H1N1)-AS03 vaccine at dose 1 and saline placebo at dose 2, 2 doses 21 days apart of A/California/7/2009(H1N1)-AS03 vaccine (the Ad2 group), or 2 doses 21 days apart of nonadjuvanted A/California/7/2009(H1N1) vaccine (the NAd2 group). Active surveillance for influenza-like illnesses continued from days 14 to 385. Nose and throat samples obtained during influenza-like illnesses were tested for A/California/7/2009 (H1N1), using reverse-transcriptase polymerase chain reaction. Immunogenicity, reactogenicity, and safety were assessed.Results. There were 23 cases of confirmed 2009 pandemic influenza A(H1N1) (A[H1N1]pdm09) infection for the primary relative VE analysis. the VE in the Ad2 group relative to that in the NAd2 group was 76.8% (95% confidence interval, 18.5%-93.4%). the benefit of the AS03 adjuvant was demonstrated in terms of the greater immunogenicity observed in the Ad2 group, compared with the NAd2 group.Conclusion. the 4-8-fold antigen-sparing adjuvanted pandemic influenza vaccine demonstrated superior and clinically important prevention of A(H1N1)pdm09 infection, compared with nonadjuvanted vaccine, with no observed increase in medically attended or serious adverse events. These data support the use of adjuvanted influenza vaccines during influenza pandemics.GlaxoSmithKline BiologicalsUniv Melbourne, Murdoch Childrens Res Inst, Carlton, Vic 3010, AustraliaUniv Melbourne, Melbourne Sch Populat & Global Hlth, Carlton, Vic 3010, AustraliaGlaxoSmithKline Vaccines, King of Prussia, PA USANovavax, Rockville, MD USAMary Chiles Gen Hosp, Dept Pediat, Manila, PhilippinesDe La Salle Hlth Sci Inst, Dept Pediat, Dasmarinas City, PhilippinesRes Inst Trop Med, Dept Hlth, Muntinlupa, PhilippinesUniversidade Federal de São Paulo, Dept Pediat, São Paulo, BrazilFac Ciencias Med Santa Casa São Paulo, Dept Pediat, São Paulo, BrazilAssoc Fundo Incent Pesquisa, São Paulo, BrazilInst Costarricense Invest Clin, San Jose, Costa RicaNatl Inst Publ Hlth Mexico, Cuernavaca, Morelos, MexicoUniv Autonoma Nuevo Leon, Serv Med, Monterrey, MexicoInst Nacl Pediat Mexico, Mexico City, DF, MexicoHosp Gen Durango, Durango, MexicoPhramongkutklao Hosp, Infect Dis Unit, Dept Pediat, Bangkok, ThailandKhon Kaen Univ, Dept Pediat, Fac Med, Khon Kaen, ThailandNatl Healthcare Grp Polyclin, Singapore, SingaporeCtr Estudios Infect Pediat, Cali, ColombiaGlaxoSmithKline Vaccines, Wavre, BelgiumGlaxoSmithKline Vaccines, Rixensart, BelgiumUniversidade Federal de São Paulo, Dept Pediat, São Paulo, BrazilWeb of Scienc
