    Usporedno s razvojem turizma razvijale su se i turističke agencije. Njegovim omasovljenjem došlo je do promjene u ponašanju i potrebama turista. Slijedom toga, turističke agencije su kroz vrijeme prilagođavale svoje poslovanje i vlastitu ulogu na tržištu potrebama potražnje. Pojavom informacijskih tehnologija i Interneta turizam doživljava još brži rast, a samim time i turističke agencije kao neizostavni čimbenici ponude nailaze na velike promjene. Tehnologija i korištenje Interneta postali su standard bez kojih se suvremeno poslovanje ne može zamisliti. Upravo zbog gore navedenoga, razvijeni su channel manager sustavi kao efikasno sredstvo upravljanja rezervacijama kako bi turističkim agencijama olakšali poslovanje i učinili ih konkurentnijima na sve zahtjevnijem turističkom tržištu.Alongside the development of tourism travel agencies deweloped their own role. It's massive scale has changed the behavior and needs of tourist. Consequently, travel agencies have adapted their business and their own role in the market according the needs of demand. With the emergence of information technology and the Internet, tourism is experiencing an even faster growth, and in this way tourism agencies as an indispensable factor in the market supply are faced with major changes. The technology and use of Intenet have become standard without which modern business can not be imagined. Precisely because of the above, channel manager systems have been developed as efficient tool of managing reservations to make travel agencies easier to operate and make them more competitive on an increasingly demanding tourist market

    Effective cancer treatment has been precluded by the presence of various forms of intratumoral complexity that drive treatment resistance and metastasis. Recent single-cell sequencing technologies are significantly facilitating the characterization of tumor internal architecture during disease progression. New applications and advances occurring at a fast pace predict an imminent broad application of these technologies in many research areas. As occurred with next-generation sequencing (NGS) technologies, once applied to clinical samples across tumor types, single-cell sequencing technologies could trigger an exponential increase in knowledge of the molecular pathways involved in cancer progression and contribute to the improvement of cancer treatment

    Ageing compromises mouse thymus function and remodels epithelial cell differentiation.

    Ageing is characterised by cellular senescence, leading to imbalanced tissue maintenance, cell death and compromised organ function. This is first observed in the thymus, the primary lymphoid organ that generates and selects T cells. However, the molecular and cellular mechanisms underpinning these ageing processes remain unclear. Here, we show that mouse ageing leads to less efficient T cell selection, decreased self-antigen representation and increased T cell receptor repertoire diversity. Using a combination of single-cell RNA-seq and lineage-tracing, we find that progenitor cells are the principal targets of ageing, whereas the function of individual mature thymic epithelial cells is compromised only modestly. Specifically, an early-life precursor cell population, retained in the mouse cortex postnatally, is virtually extinguished at puberty. Concomitantly, a medullary precursor cell quiesces, thereby impairing maintenance of the medullary epithelium. Thus, ageing disrupts thymic progenitor differentiation and impairs the core immunological functions of the thymus

    Enhancing Solubility and Bioavailability of Adefovir Dipivoxil to Treat Viral Infections

    Hepatitis B virus is known to cause hepatocellular carcinoma in humans. HBV infection affects more than 250 million individuals globally and approximately 1.25 million individuals in the USA. Adefovir dipivoxil is a reverse transcriptase inhibitor, which is currently approved for the oral treatment of chronic HBV infection. The current oral bioavailability of adefovir is 59%% meaning only 59% of the orally administered adefovir dipivoxil is efficacious. While adefovir dipivoxil is clinically effective for the treatment of HBV, severe nephrotoxicity is one of the major side effects associated with adefovir dipivoxil. The improvement in the oral bioavailability of adefovir dipivoxil is expected to reduce the therapeutic dose of adefovir dipivoxil, which will, in turn, reduce the dose-related nephrotoxicity of adefovir dipivoxil. The development of oral formulations that are capable of enhancing oral bioavailability of adefovir dipivoxil, will reduce the required therapeutic dose of adefovir dipivoxil and the dose-related nephrotoxicity. The project involved pharmaceutical characterization of adefovir dipivoxil, its analysis by the UV-Vis spectrophotometry. Furthermore, the project will include studies to ascertain the feasibility of developing adefovir dipivoxil-cyclodextrin complexes and solid dispersions. The adefovir dipivoxil-cyclodextrin complexes and solid dispersions will be characterized by several methods to ensure the complexation such as phase solubility studies and in vitro dissolution. This project may significantly reduce the adverse effects associated with chronic hepatitis B treatment with orally administered adefovir dipivoxil. In the grand scheme of things, the successful completion of this project will lead to the development of adefovir dipivoxil-cyclodextrin complex or solid dispersions, which can be further transformed into pharmaceutically acceptable dosage forms such as tablets or ophthalmic formulations.MHIRT progra
