Efecto del rango de carbones colombianos y su tecnología de alimentación en la producción de gas natural sustituto, mediante gasificación en lecho arrastrado

RESUMEN: Presenta los resultados de un estudio del efecto del rango del carbón usado (desde subbituminoso hasta semiantracita) y de la tecnología de alimentación (seca o húmeda) sobre el proceso de producción de gas natural sustituto (GNS) en gasificadores de flujo arrastrado. Se analizaron diez carbones provenientes de importantes minas de Colombia. El proceso de producción de GNS a partir de gasificación de carbón se modeló bajo equilibrio termoquímico en Aspen Plus. El rendimiento del proceso se evaluó en términos de parámetros de salida, que incluyen el poder calórico del GNS, el índice de Wobbe, la eficiencia de conversión de carbón, la eficiencia en frío, la eficiencia del proceso, la eficiencia global y la tasa de producción de GNS, entre otros. En orden descendente, el proceso carbón-GNS mejora energéticamente con el uso de carbones con alta relación material volátil/carbón fijo, bajo contenido de ceniza, alta relación C+H/O y alto valor calórico del carbón. La eficiencia energética global para la producción de GNS vía gasificación es 17% mayor para la tecnología de alimentación en húmedo con respecto a la tecnología de alimentación en seco; esto posiblemente se da por la mayor concentración de CH4 en el syngas (alrededor del 7% vol.) cuando se usa alimentación en húmedo. El GNS simulado cumple los estándares de calidad de gas natural (GN) en Colombia; por lo tanto, el combustible gaseoso sustituto podría transportarse directamente por gasoductos. Por lo anterior, es técnicamente viable considerar el proceso carbón-GNS como una alternativa no convencional para la producción de GN.ABSTRACT: The effect of coal rank (from sub-bituminous to semi-anthracite) and type of fuel feeding technology (slurry and dry) on the production of substitute natural gas (SNG) in entrained flow gasifiers is studied. Ten coals from important Colombian mines were selected. The process is modeled under thermochemical equilibrium using Aspen Plus, and its performance is evaluated in function of output parameters that include SNG heating value, Wobbe index, coal conversion efficiency, cold gas efficiency, process efficiency, global efficiency, and SNG production rate, among others. In descending order, the coal-to-SNG process improves energetically with the use of coals with: higher volatile-matter to fixed-carbon ratio, lower ash content, higher C+H/O ratio, and higher coal heating value. The overall energy efficiency of the slurry-feed technology (S-FT) to produce SNG by gasification is 17% higher than the dry-feed technology (D-FT), possibly as a consequence of the higher CH4 concentration in the syngas (around 7 vol. %) when the coal is fed as aqueous slurry. As the simulated SNG meets the natural gas (NG) quality standards in Colombia, the substitute gaseous fuel could be directly transported through pipelines. Therefore, the coal-to-SNG process is a technically feasible and unconventional alternative for NG production

Fighting weeds in mono-cultures of forage peanut(Arachis pintoi)

Este trabajo se realizó con el objetivo de generar información sobre la eficacia de cuatro tratamientos químicos (herbicidas) en el control de malas hierbas, en comparación con la deshierba manual y un tratamiento testigo, todos los tratamientos tuvieron un manejo en rotación con 6,5 Unidades Animales (12 animales de 250 kg por cinco horas), con base en un monocultivo de maní forrajero de una área de 1.080 m2, con un descanso de 30 días. Para la evaluación de las diferentes variables se utilizó un diseño experimental de bloques completos al azar con seis tratamientos y tres repeticiones por tratamiento. Con el fin de determinar la cobertura del cultivo, tolerancia al ingrediente activo, grado de control del tratamiento y cuantificar la composición botánica de la pastura, se llevaron a cabo cuatro evaluaciones; 0, 30, 60 y 90 días de la aplicación de los tratamientos. Previamente a cada muestreo, se hizo un inventario de las malezas presentes en cada una de las parcelas de tratamiento. Con los tratamientos glifosato y limpieza manual se obtuvo la mayor cobertura de maní forrajero. El maní forrajero toleró adecuadamente todos los tratamientos, pero el glifosato y la limpieza manual, respectivamente dieron el mejor control de malezas. La producción de materia seca de las malezas y su porcentaje en la pastura disminuyó con el tiempo de muestreo. La mayor producción y porcentaje de materia seca, se obtuvo con el tratamiento testigo.Fighting weeds in mono-cultures of forage peanut(Arachis pintoi).Weevaluated four chemical treatments(herbicides) used to fight weeds, as compared to manualweed picking and using a witness treatment. All treatmentshad a rotational handling with 6.5 animal units (12 animals of250 kg per five haurs). We used a proteid bank or mono-culture of forage peanut, in an arca of 1080 sq.mt., with a 30days break. In order to evaluate the many variables, we usedan experimen-tal design of complete random blocks, with sixtreatments and tree repetitions per treatment. In order todetermine the coverage of the culture, its tolerance to theactive ingredient and the level of treatment control, wecarried out four evaluations: 0, 30, 60, and 90 days oftreatment application. We found differences (P<0.01)between treatments related to the degree of coverage of theforage peanut plants. With Gliphosate and manual weeding,we obtained a dominant coverage of forage peanut, whilewith the witness treatment the degree of coverage wasinferior. The production of dry matter from the weeds, as wellas their percentage in the pasture, decreased in a significantway (P<0.01), through the sampling process. Observaciones sobre el control de malezas en un banco de proteína de Arachis pintoi

Arachis pintoi se utiliza en asociacibn con gramfneas o como banco de proteína para la alimentación de animales. Cuando se siembra como banco es frecuente la invasion de malezas que perjudican su desarrollo y, por lo tanto, es necesario controlarlas. Sun exposure and knowledge about skin care of physical educators

El propósito del estudio fue identificar los hábitos de exposición solar y conocimientos del cuidado de la piel de profesionales de la educación física en México. Fue un estudio descriptivo transversal probabilístico por selección al azar con un margen de error del 7%, con una muestra de 131 docentes (98 hombres y 33 mujeres). El instrumento para el levantamiento de datos fue un cuestionario autogestivo validado dividido en tres categorías: sociodemográficas, hábitos de exposición solar y conocimientos del cuidado de la piel. Entre los principales hallazgos se constata los deficientes hábitos de cuidado de la piel de los educadores físicos, aun conociendo el riesgo y los peligros de la exposición, no utilizan la indumentaria básica y las cremas de protección solar recomendada por los organismos internacionales. Se concluye considerar a este grupo profesional en alta vulnerabilidad por su contante exposición al sol, así como, promover campañas de información integrales que fomenten la revisión médica constante de la piel, el uso adecuado de la ropa y las cremas de protección solar.The study aimed to identify the sun exposure habits and knowledge of Physical Education professionals in Mexico. A cross-sectional descriptive study by random selection with a margin of error of 7%, was designed on a sample of 131 teachers (98 men and 33 women). Participants answered a validated self-completed questionnaire divided into sociodemographic categories, sun exposure habits, and skin care knowledge. The findings suggest the poor skin care habits of physical education professionals even knowing the risk and dangers of exposure. They not using the essential clothing recommended by international organizations, using very few and misapply it sunscreen creams. It is concluded to this professional group is considered highly vulnerable and promote comprehensive information campaigns that encourage constant medical review of the skin and proper use of clothing and sun protection creams

Mapping of social initiatives as a model of local development against depopulation in rural areas. The Valle del Genal case (Andalusia, Spain)

The cultural heritage of many rural areas, such as the villages of Valle del Genal in Andalusia, is endangered. Factors such as the depopulation suffered in the last 25 years have prevented the knowledge transfer from the elderly to the young. This paper focuses on mapping the social, economic and habitat resources as a preliminary step to the implementation of measures and policies against the abandonment of these areas. The aim is to create a map regarding the cultural identity and idiosyncrasy of each village in the valley. The mapping of these local entities is carried out through a combination of participatory work with the communities in the area and the data tracking from geo-positioning and social networks applications. During the identification and inventory process, the relationship between different citizen initiatives and social groups are analysed. The neurobiology of splitbrain crayfish

Background: They crayfish brain is segmented into two symmetrical hemiganglia. Normally both hemiganglia are in direct communication through a series of well-defined neural bridges that cross de midline to form reciprocal cross connections.Methods: An original study was carried out in the Department of Physiology of the Faculty of Medicine, UNAM during the period from August 2019 to August 2020. 13 Crayfish Procambarus clarkii weighing between 1g to 30g were used. Each eyestalk of the animals was tied to a displacement transducer coupled with a polygraph so that optomotor or electrical activity was bilaterally recorded. The separation of the right from the left hemiganglia from the cerebral or supraesophageal ganglion was performed with a sagittal section, splitbrain (SB).Results: The normal photo motor reflex in crayfish eye is measured as a gradual decrease in the ERG amplitude. During tactile stimulation, the visual activation of both eyestalks in normal crayfish leads to a highly regular bilateral activity. The regular activity can only be altered by disturbing the mechanoreceptors located in the shell surrounding the eyestalks.Conclusions: The procedure presented in this article provides unique characteristics for the study of the nervous system such as a detailed response of the bilateral optomotor reflex

En 2018, Treinta y nueve estudiantes femeninas del X ciclo del periodo 2018-1 de la escuela de Psicología de una universidad particular del cono norte de Lima, ellas han descrito el romance de su personas cercanas a ellas. Se analizaron los 266 casos de parejas de enamorados estaban el rango de 17 a 25 años. El instrumento que se usó fue una CUESTIONARIO CUPIDO que es una escala nominal de conductas donde las estudiantes de psicología clasificaban los comportamientos en categorías preestablecidas, claramente definidas y mutuamente excluyentes. La conclusión más importante del estudio observacional fue que las parejas analizadas en un 64.4 % la mujer ero atrajo al varón y después el varón emo conectó con la mujer. También han observado otro estilo de romance cuando el varón ero atrajo a la mujer por su cuerpo atracción y después la mujer fue la que emo conectó con el varón y observaron este hecho en un 35.6 % de los casos
