Festival Tabot Bengkulu is one of the main culture tourist attraction in Bengkulu, last for 10 days from 1 to 10 Muharram in Islamic. Tabot Bengkulu is a form of an art contains rich full meanings and philosophy of life. Many attraction events were hold during the ceremony, Traditional Tabot dance competition, Percussion music completion Dol, and exhibition stands. Tabot Bengkulu considered as the biggest local Fancy fair, however the problems were still found during the event, and before the event. Financial problem is still the major issues since it requires great mounts of funds and also technical problem during the events. This event involving several groups consist of KKT as the main in heritage family Tabot which brought to Bengkulu by Iran Syeikh name Burhanudin or known as SyeikhSenggolo for local people, Culture and Tourism Office Bengkulu Province, and Culture and Tourism Office of Bengkulu City. The management of cultural attraction required solid team work from those who are involved directly or undirectly in order to create successful main cultural attraction in Bengkulu

Screening for type 1 diabetes in the general population: A status report and perspective.

    No full text
Most screening programs to identify individuals at risk for type 1 diabetes have targeted relatives of people living with the disease to improve yield and feasibility. However, ∼90% of those who develop type 1 diabetes do not have a family history. Recent successes in disease-modifying therapies to impact the course of early-stage disease have ignited the consideration of the need for and feasibility of population screening to identify those at increased risk. Existing population screening programs rely on genetic or autoantibody screening, and these have yielded significant information about disease progression and approaches for timing for screening in clinical practice. At the March 2021 Type 1 Diabetes TrialNet Steering Committee meeting, a session was held in which ongoing efforts for screening in the general population were discussed. This report reviews the background of these efforts and the details of those programs. Additionally, we present hurdles that need to be addressed for successful implementation of population screening and provide initial recommendations for individuals with positive screens so that standardized guidelines for monitoring and follow-up can be established

Phytotoxicity of the extracts of Lonchocarpus muehlbergianus Hassl. (Fabaceae) leaflets and galls on seed germination and early development of lettuce

Galls induced by Euphalerus ostreoides (Hemiptera: Psyllidae) cause structural and chemical alterations on Lonchocarpus muehlbergianus leaflets. Healthy and galled leaflet tissues of this plant species are rich in secondary metabolites with potential allelopathic effects. This research compares the allelopathic effects of the aqueous extracts of L. muehlbergianus leaflets and galls on seeds and seedlings of Lactuta sativa, and evaluates the chemical impact produced by a gall-inducing insect on the other trophic levels associated with it. The extracts were obtained through static maceration in distilled water (5% p/v). The treatments consisted of aqueous crude extracts and those previously filtered in polyvinylpirrolidone (PVP). After seven days, seedling height was measured, and the radicles were fixed in FAA50 for anatomical analyses. Healthy leaflet and gall aqueous extracts, and those filtered in PVP, significantly inhibited seed germination, with no significant differences between the two groups. Treatments with aqueous extracts reduced seed germination speed and vegetative axis length. Plant tissue alterations confirm the phytotoxicity of allelochemical substances present in the extracts. The differences among the treatments indicated that gall formation altered L. muehlbergianus leaflet metabolism, and this could influence the other trophic levels associated with this gall inducing-host plant system

Diagnosis of Chronic Brucellar Meningitis And Meningoencephalitis: The Results Of The Istanbul-2 Study

No detailed data exist in the literature on the accurate diagnosis of chronic brucellar meningitis or meningoencephalitis. A multicentre retrospective chart review was performed at 19 health centres to determine sensitivities of the diagnostic tests. This study included 177 patients. The mean values of CSF biochemical test results were as follows: CSF protein, 330.64 +/- 493.28mg/dL; CSF/ blood-glucose ratio, 0.35 +/- 0.16; CSF sodium, 140.61 +/- 8.14mMt; CSF leucocyte count, 215.99 +/- 306.87. The sensitivities of the tests were as follows: serum standard tube agglutination (STA), 94%; cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) STA, 78%; serum Rose Bengal test (RBT), 96%; CSF RBT, 71%; automated blood culture, 37%; automated CSF culture, 25%; conventional CSF culture, 9%. The clinician should use every possible means to diagnose chronic neurobrucellosis. The high seropositivitiy in brucellar blood tests must facilitate the use of blood serology. Although STA should be preferred over RBT in CSF in probable neurobrucellosis other than the acute form of the disease, RBT is not as weak as expected. Moreover, automated culture systems should be applied when CSF culture is needed.WoSScopu

Central Nervous System Infections In The Absence Of Cerebrospinal Fluid Pleocytosis

    Get PDF
Previous multicenter/multinational studies were evaluated to determine the frequency of the absence of cerebrospinal fluid pleocytosis in patients with central nervous system infections, as well as the clinical impact of this condition. It was found that 18% of neurosyphilis, 7.9% of herpetic meningoencephalitis, 3% of tuberculous meningitis, 1.7% of Brucella meningitis, and 0.2% of pneumococcal meningitis cases did not display cerebrospinal fluid pleocytosis. Most patients were not immunosuppressed. Patients without pleocytosis had a high rate of unfavorable outcomes and thus this condition should not be underestimated.Scopu
