Autodeterminación y calidad de vida en personas discapacitadas : experiencia desde un hogar de grupo /

Consultable des del TDXTítol obtingut de la portada digitalitzadaEl trabajo trata de dar a conocer cómo se desarrolla el proceso de autodeterminación en un grupo de jóvenes discapacitados que vive dentro de la comunidad. Desde una experiencia particular como es la de los hogares de grupo se pretende, por un lado, identificar algunos de los elementos fundamentales que condicionan el que las personas puedan asumir y participar en mayor medida de lo que les sucede en sus vidas y, por otro, cuestionar algunas de las decisiones que en los últimos años se han ido adoptando con relación a las personas discapacitadas. En este sentido, se incide en cómo algunas de las decisiones adoptadas recientemente, lejos de lo que podamos pensar, contribuyen a mantener y perpetuar respuestas tradicionalmente ancladas como la lástima, el miedo o el paternalismo. Asimismo, y desde un planteamiento participativo de la investigación, el trabajo incorpora al grupo de jóvenes al proceso de investigación e integra sus puntos de vista. El trabajo incorpora además un CD-Rom en el que se presentan en formato hipermedia algunos de los resultados de la investigación. Su realización responde, en coherencia con todo el trabajo realizado, a la necesidad de devolver a los jóvenes discapacitados que habían participado, algunas de las ideas más importantes y hacerlo a través de un medio que de cualquier otra forma resultaría difícil dar a conocer.This research attempts to show how the self-determination process is developed in a group of young disabled people who live within the community. From a particular experience, like a group-home, this research tries to identify those fundamental elements, which determine the fact that some people may assume or participate in their own lives. It, also, tries to discuss some of the decisions taken in the last few years dealed with disabled people. This way, it is shown how some of the most decisions taken recently, far from what we might think, contribute to keep and perpetuate traditional points of view as compassion, fear or paternalism. In the same way, from participative investigation, this work introduces the group of young people to the process of investigation, as well as it integrates their own points of view. Besides, this project contains a CD-Rom, in which it is shown, in a hipermedia format, some of the results of the research. Its creation, according to the whole research, tries to show young disabled people who had taken part in this project, some of the main ideas developed in the study, that could not have been done in any other way

La violencia: ¿Un problema de salud mental en el Perú? Violence: A problem of mental health in Peru

WHO defines mental health as a condition in which a person is aware of his or her abilities to face the problems of everyday life, performs productively in his or her workplace, and contributes to his or her community. During 2017, according to the Ministry of Health in Peru, 52,611 people were treated on an outpatient basis for mental health among victims of family violence and patients with different mental disorders. The number of victims of family violence was 18,387.La OMS define la salud mental como una condición en la cual la persona es consciente de sus capacidades,puede enfrentar los problemas de la vida diaria, desempeñarse de forma productiva en su centro laboral ycontribuir con su comunidad. Integrating Singular Functions on the Sphere

Inclusive Research and the Use of Visual, Creative and Narrative Strategies in Spain

In recent decades, there have been many works on inclusive research that provide a clear framework on its meaning and the implications it entails. They also highlight the importance of addressing outstanding hallenges, among others, to inquire after research strategies that respond to the diversity of situations in which people with intellectual disabilities find themselves. This article presents a research project carried out in Spain over a period of eighteen months by a team of researchers with and without intellectual disabilities. Specifically, we explore how the construction of enabling relationships, both dialogic and horizontal, requires giving greater emphasis to visual and creative methodological strategies, such as photographs, image-theatre, body-mapping, murals or visual presentations. The findings reported by the researchers and co-researchers have encouraged us to review some methodological premises such as our role as researchers or the type of relationships we establish. They also demonstrate the value of using a variety of collaborative enquiry strategies that recognise the agency of all researchers
