Pandemic of Covid-19 has resulted in a multi-dimensional crisis that has no impact on the education sector as one of the sectors most severely affected by the crisis. Currently, it is estimated that 60 million students from all levels of education from play group to senior high school in Indonesia study from home. TK ABA 43 is still applying the rules for studying at home for students accompanied by parents. The activities of monitoring children's growth and development, which are usually carried out regularly in schools, are currently unable to be carried out. The school asked parents to weigh and measure height and monitor the child's development and then report the data to the school. The accuracy data reported by the parents is an activity carried out to improve the ability of parents to grow through training in monitoring the growth and development of children. This activity was directly attended by 12 parents and 7 teachers, parents and teachers who were given direct training by being given the material first then given an example of an evaluation carried out by providing opportunities for parents to measure the growth of children directly and the teacher was able to understand and do independent measurement of growth.ABSTRAKPandemi Covid-19 mengakibatkan krisis multi-dimensi tidak terkecuali sektor pendidikan sebagai salah satu sektor yang paling parah terdampak. The promotion of the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI), a major China-led development and cooperation project launched in 2013, features among the centrepieces of China’s current political discourse and is one of the most closely-followed topics by both China’s and international audiences. The organization of the first Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation (BRF) held in Beijing on May 14-15 2017 generated a considerable mediatic echo in which Xinhua News Agency played a relevant role. This paper focuses on the website “Yi Dai Yi Lu” pindao (“一带一路”频道), the online space dedicated to the BRI by the state-subordinated agency. The examination offers a comparative analysis of a selection of news titles published over the period of the BRF in the Chinese and English editions of this website. The aim is to examine the narrative constructed therein by offering a two-fold examination of how and to what extent: (1) Xinhua’s institutional and entrepreneurial identity influences its news production; and (2) the nature of different audiences affects the representations of the BRI and BRF in discourses targeted by the same producer to a Chinese-speaking or English-speaking audience.

In the dissemination of Chinese political discourse outside of China, editorial or political cartoons are considered innovative and creative tools to achieve a better publicity effect. After placing the analysis within the framework of the study of visual forms of political communication, the paper examines a selection of editorial cartoons on foreign affairs published throughout 2021 by the China Daily and disseminated through its website and Facebook page. Drawing on the methodological tools of visual analysis and multimodal critical discourse analysis, the study focuses on the use of visual and visual-verbal metaphors and metonymies in the depiction of social actors and events. Considering the potential role of editorial cartoons in creating narratives and counter-narratives, the paper looks at the degree by which the cartoons analyzed convey China’s positions in relation to the identified issues and act as vehicles of persuasion. The aim is to explore the potential of the China Daily’s editorial cartoons in representing the status of great power sought after by the PRC and measure the projection of this image globally

Chapter The languages of wine: negotiating intercultural exchanges through translation

    Get PDF
This paper discusses the cultural and linguistic mediation strategies involved in the compilation of a terminological tool aimed at facilitating the intercultural exchanges between Italy and China in the field of oenology, by taking the Dictionary of Italian wines and grape varieties (Italian - Chinese) (Bosc et al. 2019) as a case study. The main objectives of the dictionary compilation were the popularization of specialized wine language, the standardization of the names of Italian wines and grape varieties, and the translation of the Italian lexicographical definitions in Chinese. For this process to be effective in terms of intercultural communication and mediation, the negotiation of standardization and translation strategies needed to take into account the differences between the two cultures and languages involved as well as the constraints of the lexicographical genre. After delineating the historical background and presenting the purpose of the dictionary from the lexicographical perspective, the paper delves into the choices made in the compilation of the Chinese text

Aim: To develop a pharmacovigilance program of calcineurin inhibitors used in pediatric renal and liver transplant patients at Hospital de Pediatría JP Garrahan, Argentina. Methods: Adverse drug reactions (ADRs) of pediatric patients with kidney and liver transplantation treated with calcineurin inhibitors (cyclosporine and tacrolimus) were evaluated by retrospective review of medical records of patients transplanted between 2010 and 2011. In addition, we carried out active pharmacovigilance since March, 2011. ADRs were reported to the National Health Authority. Results: A total of 59 patients, 28 kidney transplant and 31 liver tarnsplant patients were analyzed. In both transplants, 60 ADRs to cyclosporine were reported including (number of cases), hypertension (19) and nephrotoxicity (6). In addition, 46 ADRs to tacrolimus were registered as hypomagnesemia (25), hypertension (7) and nephrotoxicity (5). A total of 95% and 96% of the adverse events to cyclosporine and tacrolimus, respectively, were defined as probable or definitive. Lastly, 70% and 98% of the events to cyclosporine and tacrolimus respectively, have been moderately severe or severe. Conclusions: This is the first study in Latin America that developed an intensive qualitative and quantitative analysis of the ADRs to calcineruin inhibitors in pediatric kidney and liver transplant patients. Spontaneous reporting should be motivated as well as monitoring ADRs should continue in the medium and long term for improving patient's quality of life.Fil: Riva, Natalia. A self-assembled organic/metal junction for water photo-oxidation

    Get PDF
We report the in situ self-assembly of TTF, TTF ·+ , and BF 4 - or PF 6 - into p-type semiconductors on the surface of Pt microparticles dispersed in water/acetonitrile mixtures. The visible light photoactivation of these self-assemblies leads to water oxidation forming O 2 and H + , with an efficiency of 100% with respect to the initial concentration of TTF ·+ . TTF ·+ is then completely reduced to TTF upon photoreduction with water. The Pt microparticles act as floating microelectrodes whose Fermi level is imposed by the different redox species in solution; here predominantly TTF, TTF ·+ , and HTTF + , which furthermore showed no signs of decomposition in solution.Fil: Olaya, Astrid J.. Mental performance in 8-year-old children fed reduced protein content formula during the 1st year of life: safety analysis of a randomised clinical trial

    Get PDF
In humans, maximum brain development occurs between the third trimester of gestation and 2 years of life. Nutrition during these critical windows of rapid brain development might be essential for later cognitive functioning and behaviour. In the last few years, trends on protein recommendations during infancy and childhood have tended to be lower than that in the past. It remains to be demonstrated that lower protein intakes among healthy infants, a part of being able to reduce obesity risk, is safe in terms of mental performance achievement. Secondary analyses of the EU CHOP, a clinical trial in which infants from five European countries were randomised to be fed a higher or a lower protein content formula during the 1st year of life. Children were assessed at the age of 8 years with a neuropsychological battery of tests that included assessments of memory (visual and verbal), attention (visual, selective, focused and sustained), visual-perceptual integration, processing speed, visual-motor coordination, verbal fluency and comprehension, impulsivity/inhibition, flexibility/shifting, working memory, reasoning, visual-spatial skills and decision making. Internalising, externalising and total behaviour problems were assessed using the Child Behaviour Checklist 4\u201318. Adjusted analyses considering factors that could influence neurodevelopment, such as parental education level, maternal smoking, child\u2019s gestational age at birth and head circumference, showed no differences between feeding groups in any of the assessed neuropsychological domains and behaviour. In summary, herewith we report on the safety of lower protein content in infant formulae (closer to the content of human milk) according to long-term mental performance

Identification of Factors Affecting Tacrolimus Trough Levels in Latin American Pediatric Liver Transplant Patients

    Get PDF
Tacrolimus is the cornerstone in pediatric liver transplant immunosuppression. Despite close monitoring, fluctuations in tacrolimus blood levels affect safety and efficacy of immunosuppressive treatments. Identifying the factors related to the variability in tacrolimus exposure may be helpful in tailoring the dose. The aim of the present study was to characterize the clinical, pharmacological, and genetic variables associated with systemic tacrolimus exposure in pediatric liver transplant patients. De novo transplant patients with a survival of more than 1 month were considered for inclusion and were genotyped for cytochrome P450 3A5 (CYP3A5). Peritransplant clinical factors and laboratory covariates were recorded retrospectively between 1 month and 2 years after transplant, including alanine aminotransferase (ALT), aspartate aminotransferase, hematocrit, and tacrolimus predose steady-state blood concentrations collected 12 hours after tacrolimus dosing. A linear mixed effect (LME) model was used to assess the association of these factors and the log-transformed tacrolimus dose-normalized trough concentration (logC0/D) levels. Bootstrapping was used to internally validate the final model. External validation was performed in an independent group of patients who matched the original population. The developed LME model described that logC0/D increases with increases in time after transplant (β = 0.019, 95% confidence interval [CI], 0.010-0.028) and ALT values (β = 0.00030, 95% CI, 0.00002-0.00056), whereas logC0/D is significantly lower in graft CYP3A5 expressers compared with nonexpressers (β = −0.349, 95% CI, −0.631 to −0.062). In conclusion, donor CYP3A5 genotype, time after transplant, and ALT values are associated with tacrolimus disposition between 1 month and 2 years after transplant. A better understanding of tacrolimus exposure is essential to minimize the occurrence of an out-of-range therapeutic window that may lead to adverse drug reactions or acute rejection.Fil: Riva, Natalia.
