[EN] Gender stereotypes are beliefs and social guidelines that people internalise and assimilate from the momento they are born. These beliefs can develop a series of discriminatory aspects regarding the figure of women and men that sometines generate inequality in some áreas of daily life. It is therefore important to work on these beliefs in order to detect and eliminate them at any stage of human life. In this case, the aim is to create an intervention proposal on gender stereotypes aimed at the adolescent stage. This is a very complex stage where these young people experience a series of personal and physical changes that, if managed incorrectly, can generate future complications such as gender violence in relationships. For this reason, an educational intervention proposal has been designed, called Lysistrata, aimed at adolescents to work on gender stereotypes through art as an educational tool for social change in the compulsory secondary school of the municipality of Fuentesauco. In this way, the aim is to eliminate these beliefs internalised by various socialising agents and to develop attriutes and characteristics free of gender stereotypes

The class of all 3-valued natural conditional variants of RM3 that are Plumwood Algebras

Valerie Plumwood introduced in "Some false laws of logic" a series of arguments on how the rules Exported Syllogism, Disjunctive Syllogism, Commutation, and Exportation are not acceptable. Based on this we define the class of Plumwood algebras - logical matrices that do not verify any of these theses. Afterwards we provide conditional variants of the characteristic matrix of the logic RM3 that are also Plumwood algebras. These matrices are given an axiomatization based on First Degree Entailment and are endowed with Belnap-Dunn Semantics. Finally we provide results of Soundness and Completeness in the strong sense for each of the defined variants

[EN] In order to monitor the ripeness and composition of wine grape berries and establish an optimal harvest date, the determination of °Brix and pH is vital. This research includes the study of two wine grapes harvests seasons of Cabernet Sauvignon variety: 2017 and 2018. Field data was periodically taken, allowing to follow the phenological state of the vine. Incorporating technological solutions to the fruit sampling process, such as Sentinel-2 images, permits optimizing a handcrafted procedure and gives the possibility of having a more detailed view of the plots. From the images, 12 variables were obtained, composed of 8 bands and 4 spectral indices, which were related to variables extracted from field samples. The °Brix modeling presents an R2 of 69% and 73% in the 2017 and 2018 seasons, respectively. In pH modeling, the 2017 season had low R2 results, reaching 43%, which then improves considerably in the 2018 season, reaching 63,8%. By choosing a model that allows defining the variability of the plot and the possible early or late ripening areas of the vineyard, is not only very useful but also very valuable to reach a constant improvement in production and hence in the wine quality.[ES] Con el fin de monitorear la madurez y composición de las bayas de uva vinífera y determinar una fecha óptima de cosecha, es vital la determinación de °Brix y pH. Producción CientíficaTwo new polymer-based stationary phases; DCpak PBT (poly(butylene terephthalate)) and DCpak P4VP(poly(4-vinylpirydine)) were evaluated for the analysis of polyphenols using supercritical fluid chro-matography (SFC). The compounds studied included phenolic acids and flavonoids. The different variablesthat influence the chromatographic separation, such as type and percentage of organic modifier, additive, pressure and temperature were examined. Using the DCpak P4VP column the retention was exception-ally high, obtaining better results with the DCpak PBT column. The separation of nine polyphenols wasachieved using a gradient of modifier (methanol with 0.1% trifluoroacetic acid) from 5 to 50%, a pressureof 150 bar, a temperature of 35◦C and a flow-rate of 2 mL/min. The use of additives was necessary in orderto obtain good peak shapes and efficiencies, achieving the best results with trifluoroacetic acid. LODs andLOQs values were lower than 5 g/mL in all the cases; meanwhile, the %RSD values for method repeatabil-ity and inter-day reproducibility were lower than 3% and 10% respectively. Finally, the proposed methodwas successfully applied to the analysis of polyphenols in commercial bee pollen; four compounds, namely cinnamic acid, p-coumaric acid, catechin and quercetin were identified and quantified

Relational semantics for the 4-valued relevant logics BN4 and E4

    Get PDF
The logic BN4 was defined by R.T. Brady in 1982. It can be considered as the 4-valued logic of the relevant conditional. E4 is a variant of BN4 that can be considered as the 4-valued logic of (relevant) entailment. The aim of this paper is to define reduced general Routley-Meyer semantics for BN4 and E4. It is proved that BN4 and E4 are strongly sound and complete w.r.t. their respective semantics

    Get PDF
Background: Long COVID patients suffer a negative impact on their quality of life, as well as their functioning, productivity or socialization. There is a need to better understand the individual experience and circumstances surrounding these patients. Objective: To characterize clinical picture of Long COVID patients and to identify factors associated with quality of life. Methods: A secondary data analysis from a randomized clinical trial (RCT) was carried out with 100 Long COVID patients treated by Primary Health Care and residents in the territory of Aragon (northeast of Spain). The main variable of the study was quality of life, evaluated using the SF-36 Questionnaire, in relation to socio-demographic and clinical variables. In addition, ten validated scales were used that contemplated their cognitive, affective, functional and social status, as well as personal constructs. Correlation statistics and linear regression model were calculated. Results: Long COVID patients suffer a decrease in their levels of physical and mental health. On the one hand, the higher number of persistent symptoms (b = -0.900, p = 0.008), worse physical functioning (b = 1.587, p = 0.002) and sleep quality (b = -0.538, p = 0.035) are predictors of worse quality of life, physical subscale. On the other hand, higher educational level (b = 13.167, p = 0.017), lower number of persistent symptoms (b = -0.621, p = 0.057) and higher affective affectation (b = -1.402, p<0.001) are predictors of worse quality of life, mental subscale. Conclusion: It is necessary to design rehabilitation programs that consider both the physical and mental health of these patients, thus obtaining an improvement in their quality of life

    Get PDF

Comparison of three short-course rifamycin-based regimens for the prevention of tuberculosis in patients with end-stage kidney disease: Study protocol for a randomised clinical trial (RIFAKiD-TB trial)

Background and purpose Screening for and treatment of latent tuberculosis (TB) in patients with end-stage kidney disease (ESKD) are recommended. However, there is limited evidence on safety and treatment completion in this population. The objective of the study is to evaluate three short-course rifamycin-based regimens for the treatment of latent TB in ESKD patients. Methods Study design and setting. This is a prospective, open label, randomized clinical trial, that will be conducted at seven teaching hospitals in Spain. Study population, randomization, and interventions. Consecutive adult patients with ESKD requiring treatment for a latent TB infection will be randomly allocated (1:1:1) to receive one of the three treatment regimens of the study: three months of daily isoniazid plus rifampicin (3HR); three months of once-weekly isoniazid plus rifapentine (3HP); or four months of daily rifampicin (4R). Participants will be followed regularly through pre-established visits and a blood test schedule from enrolment to a month after finishing the assigned treatment. Outcomes. The primary outcome will be treatment completion, while the secondary outcomes will be discontinuation of the assigned treatment due to adverse events, related or unrelated to the study treatment; definitive discontinuation of the assigned treatment because of adverse events related to the treatment of the study, and death. Sample size. Two hundred and twenty-five subjects (75 per arm) will be enrolled, which will enable the demonstration, if it exists, of an increase of 0.16 in treatment completion rates either in the 3HP or 4R arm with respect to the 3HR arm. Discussion Results of this clinical trial will contribute to evidence-based recommendations on the management of latent TB infection in ESKD patients
