Celles-ci sont attribuées à deux causes principales : d'une part, le régime hydrologique du Parana qui provoque des modifications de niveau dans le lac et l'inondation de la varzea et, d'autre part, les pluies qui augmentent les apports de carbone organique (composés humiques) et des nutriments par les petits affluents tributaires. Purple dwarfs : New L subdwarfs from UKIDSS and SDSS

Less than ten L subdwarfs been published in the literature to date. Metal-poor ultracool atmospheres has not been well understood. Halo mass function cross substellar limit has not been measured. We used UKIDSS and SDSS to search for L subdwarfs. We have confirmed some new L subdwarfs and are following up more candidates with ground based large telescopes. Measurements of high-energy neutron-induced fission of natPb and 209Bi
EFNUDAT – Measurements and Models of Nuclear ReactionsThe CERN Neutron Time-Of-Flight (n_TOF) facility is well suited to measure low cross sections as those of neutron-induced fission in subactinides. The cross section ratios of natPb and 209Bi relative to 235U and 238U were measured using PPAC detectors and a fragment coincidence method that allows us to identify the fission events. The present experiment provides first results for neutron-induced fission up to 1 GeV. Good agreement is found with previous experimental data below 200 MeV. The comparison with proton-induced fission indicates that the limiting regime where neutron-induced and proton-induced fission reach equal cross sections is close to 1 Ge
Transcriptome analysis of human primary endothelial cells (HUVEC) from umbilical cords of gestational diabetic mothers reveals candidate sites for an epigenetic modulation of specific gene expression.
Within the complex pathological picture associated to diabetes, high glucose (HG) has ". per se" effects on cells and tissues that involve epigenetic reprogramming of gene expression. In fetal tissues, epigenetic changes occur genome-wide and are believed to induce specific long term effects. Human umbilical vein endothelial cells (HUVEC) obtained at delivery from gestational diabetic women were used to study the transcriptomic effects of chronic hyperglycemia in fetal vascular cells using Affymetrix microarrays. In spite of the small number of samples analyzed (n=6), genes related to insulin sensing and extracellular matrix reorganization were found significantly affected by HG. Quantitative PCR analysis of gene promoters identified a significant differential DNA methylation in TGFB2. Use of Ea.hy926 endothelial cells confirms data on HUVEC. Our study corroborates recent evidences suggesting that epigenetic reprogramming of gene expression occurs with persistent HG and provides a background for future investigations addressing genomic consequences of chronic HG. © 2014 Elsevier Inc
Topological aspects of geometrical signatures of phase transitions
Certain geometric properties of submanifolds of configuration space are
numerically investigated for classical lattice phi^4 models in one and two
dimensions. Peculiar behaviors of the computed geometric quantities are found
only in the two-dimensional case, when a phase transition is present. The
observed phenomenology strongly supports, though in an indirect way, a recently
proposed topological conjecture about a topology change of the configuration

Dos elementos religiosos en el teatro de Mira de Amescua
Se han rastreado dos elementos religiosos en seis comedias de Mira de Amescua: la visión de Dios y las voces del cielo. Se detecta una visión dual de Dios: de un lado, el Dios que se asemeja al del Antiguo Testamento, jefe absoluto de los ejércitos, y, de otro, el Dios más cercano, de la paz, el del Nuevo Testamento. Además, se estudia la figura de la Virgen María, así como el resto del elenco celestial. En cuanto a las Voces del cielo se ha tratado de revisar las aportaciones realizadas por Anibal y Krappe. We have studied two religious elements in six comedies by Mira de Amescua: the vision of God and the "voces del cielo". There is a double vision of God in these comedies: on the one hand, God who is like God in the Old Testament, the absolute lord of the armies. On the other hand, God closer to people, the God of peace of the New Testament. Virgin Mary and the rest of heavenly figures are also studied. Referring to the "Voces del cielo" the papers by C.E. Benchmark low-mass objects in Moving Groups
This is an Open Access article distributed under the terms of the Creative Commons Attribution License 2.0, which permits unrestricted use, distribution, and reproduction in any medium, provided the original work is properly cited.In order to compile a sample of ultracool dwarfs that will serve as benchmarks for testing theoretical formation and evolutionary models, we selected low-mass cool (>M7) objects that are potentially members of five known young Moving Groups in the solar neighbourhood. We have studied the kinematics of the sample, finding that 49 targets belong to the young disk area, from which 36 are kinematic member of one of the five moving groups under study. Some of the identified low-mass members have been spectroscopically characterised (T-eff, log g) and confirmed as young members through a detailed study of age indicators
License prices for financially constrained firms
It is often alleged that high auction prices inhibit service deployment. We investigate this claim under the extreme case of financially constrained bidders. If demand is just slightly elastic, auctions maximize consumer surplus if consumer surplus is a convex function of quantity (a common assumption), or if consumer surplus is concave and the proportion of expenditure spent on deployment is greater than one over the elasticity of demand. The latter condition appears to be true for most of the large telecom auctions in the US and Europe. Thus, even if high auction prices inhibit service deployment, auctions appear to be optimal from the consumers’ point of view
Radio-over-fibre technologies arising from the Building the future Optical Network in Europe (BONE) project
[EN] This study describes a wide range of salient radio-over-fibre system issues. Impulse radio and multiband ultra-wideband signal distribution over both single-mode fibre and multi-mode fibre (MMF) implementations are considered. Carrier frequencies ranging from 3.1 to 10.6 GHz, up to 60 GHz, are featured, and the use of microring laser transmitters is discussed. A cost-performance comparative analysis of competing distributed antenna system topologies is presented, and a theoretical approach to understanding the factors underlying radio-over-MMF performance for within-building applications is discussed. Finally, techniques to minimise thermal impacts on performance are described and novel energy-efficient schemes are introduced.
