"Secretum" de Antonio Prieto. La novela de una canción
Antonio Prieto´s novel Secretum is seen in these lines as a poetic biography where the author rewrites Petrarch´s Canzoniere in a dialogue among many voices and within a science fiction novel pattern. The same way that Petrarch in his Canzoniere talks to Saint Augustine as he himself did with God in his Confessions. It is indeed the same dialogue that every reader holds with the books he reads. This novel is therefore analyzed as the mythical fusion between Antonio Prieto and Petrarch in an attempt to rescue and save the past (as the author himself states through one of his characters) and in so doing Antonio Prieto becomes a modern interlocutor laden with memory.
Validation of stellar population and kinematical analysis of galaxies
3D spectroscopy produces hundreds of spectra from which maps of the
characteristics of stellar populations (age-metallicity) and internal
kinematics of galaxies can be derived. We carried on simulations to assess the
reliability of inversion methods and to define the requirements for future
observations. We quantify the biases and show that to minimize the errors on
the kinematics, age and metallicity (in a given observing time) the size of the
spatial elements and the spectral dispersion should be chosen to obtain an
instrumental velocity dispersion comparable to the physical dispersion.Comment: 5 pages, 3 figures, extended version of a poster proceeding to appear

Questionnaire to measure Educational Technologies Acceptance in Moroccan Public Universities
[EN]The project “Support to the Higher Education system in Morocco within the framework of a
rapprochement with the European Higher Education Area” (Appui au Système de
l'Enseignement supérieur au Maroc dans le cadre d'un rapprochement avec l'Espace
européen de l'Enseignem), is an European Project whose general objective is accompanying,
assisting and promoting the reform of the Moroccan higher education system within the
framework of its strategic vision 2015-2030 and its approach to the European Higher
Education Area in order to improve the employability of graduates and the governance of the
university system. The project is organized into 6 components that involve different Spanish
institutions.
In the development of Component 3 (Mission 3.1), Diversification des modalités
d’enseignement (stratégie e-learning), it is important to know the perception and opinion of
teachers from Moroccan public universities related to the state, use and prospection of
educational technologies (García-Peñalvo, 2018; García-Peñalvo & Seoane-Pardo, 2015; Gros
& García-Peñalvo, 2016) in their teaching activity. To achieve this objective, a questionnaire
based on the extended (Huang, Teo, Sánchez-Prieto, García-Peñalvo, & Olmos-Migueláñez,
2019; Sánchez-Prieto, 2018; Sánchez-Prieto, Hernández-García, García-Peñalvo, Chaparro-
Peláez, & Olmos-Migueláñez, 2019; Sánchez-Prieto, Olmos-Migueláñez, & García-Peñalvo,
2016a, 2016b, 2017; Venkatesh & Bala, 2008) TAM model has been designed (Technology
Acceptance Model). Thus, an evaluation model is proposed in which, in addition to evaluating
the 3 usual dimensions of the TAM models (perceived utility, perceived facility, behavioural
intention), 7 external dimensions are included related to social influence (Subjective norm;
Social image), the professional context (Voluntariness, relevance, results of use, external
control of the tool) and the personal context (Anxiety)

Ant collectives and their fluctuations
Treballs Finals de Grau de Física, Facultat de Física, Universitat de Barcelona, Curs: 2021, Tutors: Alberto Fernández-Nieves, Ramon PlanetWe know a lot about the behaviour of matter on equilibrium. In particular, we know fluctuations follow the central limit theorem. In contrast, only recently have we began to really understand how out of equilibrium active matter behaves. Here, we use fire ants and explore the relationship between ant number fluctuations and system size. We do this for two distinct ant states: a collective active state and a preferentially non-active state. We find that while fluctuations in the predominantly non-active state are similar to fluctuations in equilibrium systems, in the collective active there are giant number fluctuation
On the origin of fluorine in the Milky Way
The main astrophysical factories of fluorine (19F) are thought to be Type II
supernovae, Wolf-Rayet stars, and the asymptotic giant branch (AGB) of
intermediate mass stars. We present a model for the chemical evolution of
fluorine in the Milky Way using a semi-analytic multi-zone chemical evolution
model. For the first time, we demonstrate quantitatively the impact of fluorine
nucleosynthesis in Wolf-Rayet and AGB stars. The inclusion of these latter two
fluorine production sites provides a possible solution to the long-standing
discrepancy between model predictions and the fluorine abundances observed in
Milky Way giants. Finally, fluorine is discussed as a possible probe of the
role of supernovae and intermediate mass stars in the chemical evolution
history of the globular cluster omega Centauri.Comment: 7 pages, 4 figures. MNRAS in pres

Use of 3D body motion to freeform surface design
This paper presents a novel surface modelling approach by utilising a 3D motion capture system. For designing a large-sized surface, a network of splines is initially set up. Artists or designers wearing motion markers on their hands can then change shapes of the splines with their hands. Literarily they can move their bodies freely to any positions to perform their tasks. They can also move their hands in 3D free space to detail surface characteristics by their gestures. All their design motions are recorded in the motion capturing system and transferred into 3D curves and surfaces correspondingly. This paper reports this novel surface design method and some case studies
The Pristine Survey
In this talk I will describe the PRISTINE project to identify extremely metal-poor stars. I will also set the bases for expanding the search using J-PLUS data and show some preliminary results based on the EDR data set
