Competencia social y autoestima: una revisión sistemática

This systematic review aimed to analyze the relationship between social competence and self-esteem in any type of population. The inclusion criteria selected were: (i) studies with results of the relationship between social competence and self-esteem; (ii) experimental and observational empirical studies; (iii) original full-text scientific journal articles written in English. Exclusion criteria referred to studies that could not be included in the inclusion criteria. The search platforms were ProQuest and the meta-search engines SCOPUS and Web of Science. The risk of bias was assessed with the Q-SSP quality checklist and the method of summary of the results was performed with a Microsoft Excel table. The results of the selected studies revealed a correlation between social competence and self-esteem indirectly, so it is concluded that social competence is positively related to self-esteem. Limitations are recognized in terms of the low number of studies found and the restricted variety of experimental designs.Esta revisión sistemática tuvo como objetivo analizar la relación entre la competencia social y la autoestima en cualquier tipo de población. Los criterios de inclusión seleccionados fueron: (i) estudios con resultados de la relación entre competencia social y autoestima; (ii) estudios empíricos experimentales y observacionales; (iii) artículos originales de revistas científicas a texto completo escritos en inglés. Los criterios de exclusión se referían a los estudios que no podían incluirse en los criterios de inclusión. Las plataformas de búsqueda fueron ProQuest y los metabuscadores SCOPUS y Web of Science. El riesgo de sesgo se evaluó con la lista de control de calidad Q-SSP y el método de resumen de los resultados se realizó con una tabla de Microsoft Excel. Los resultados de los estudios seleccionados revelaron una correlación entre la competencia social y la autoestima de forma indirecta, por lo que se concluye que la competencia social se relaciona positivamente con la autoestima. Se reconocen limitaciones en cuanto al bajo número de estudios encontrados y la restringida variedad de diseños experimentales.&nbsp

Long‐Term Storing of Frozen Semen at −196°C does not Affect the Post-Thaw Sperm Quality of Bull Semen

Today, it is theoretically assumed that frozen storage of semen doses in liquid nitrogen guarantees sperm functionality indefinitely. However, there are few studies that objectively evaluate the effects of long‐term storage on sperm quality parameters. In this study, we show a freezability analysis of bull semen stored for 1, 10, 25, 40 and 45 years at −196°C. Sperm viability and full sperm motility were analyzed by CASA system, and acrosome integrity was assessed with Coomassie blue staining. Our results showed that sperm viability and total sperm motility were not affected by long‐term cryopreservation at −196°C. Specifically, we did not find any significant differences (p > 0.05) associated between different long‐time storing analyzed; both parameters showed optimal values of sperm viability and total sperm motility (both over 60%). Additionally, the acrosomal integrity parameter was not affected, showing an optimal range (87±1.6 - 95±0.5%). We conclude that the sperm quality of bovine semen is not affected by long-term storage at −196°C. However, future field trials will be necessary in order to validate that both fertility and embryo viability are maintained for the times analyzed

An approach to automated videogame beta testing

Videogames developed in the 1970s and 1980s were modest programs created in a couple of months by a single person, who played the roles of designer, artist and programmer. Since then, videogames have evolved to become a multi-million dollar industry. Today, AAA game development involves hundreds of people working together over several years. Management and engineering requirements have changed at the same pace. Although many of the processes have been adapted over time, this is not quite true for quality assurance tasks, which are still done mainly manually by human beta testers due to the specific peculiarities of videogames. Does the wording of article 178 of the Penal Code convey what the lawmaker really wanted to?

La redacción del tipo penal de las agresiones sexuales ha sufrido importantes reformas desde 1989. La interpretación literal de los apartados 1 y 4 del artículo 178 del Código Penal no son del todo claros y podrían no reflejar la voluntad del legislador, además de crear cierta confusión taxonómica. Ello es así por tres motivos: El primero es que, aunque no cabe la agresión sexual si hay consentimiento, el texto deja abierta esa posibilidad al utilizar, en una misma oración, el verbo “atentar” y el sintagma nominal “sin su consentimiento”. El segundo radica en que se utiliza la expresión “libertad sexual” tanto como bien jurídico protegido en el tipo de las agresiones sexuales, como para denominar a todos los tipos que integran el Título VIII. El tercero es que el apartado 4 omite un adverbio de negación necesario para respetar la coherencia con el resto del texto normativo.The wording of the criminal offense of sexual assault has undergone important reforms since 1989. The literal interpretation of paragraphs 1 and 4 of article 178 of the Penal Code is not entirely clear and may not reflect the will of the legislator, in addition to creating some taxonomic confusion. This is so for three reasons: The first is that, although sexual assault is not possible if there is consent, the text leaves that possibility open by using, in the same sentence, the verb “assault” and the noun phrase “without consent.” . The second is that the expression “sexual freedom” is used both as a protected legal good in the type of sexual assaults and to refer to all the types that make up Title VIII. Educational Warehouse: Modular, Private and Secure Cloudable Architecture System for Educational Data Storage, Analysis and Access

[Abstract] Data in the educational context are becoming increasingly important in decision-making and teaching-learning processes. Similar to the industrial context, educational institutions are adopting data-processing technologies at all levels. To achieve representative results, the processes of extraction, transformation and uploading of educational data should be ubiquitous because, without useful data, either internal or external, it is difficult to perform a proper analysis and to obtain unbiased educational results. It should be noted that the source and type of data are heterogeneous and that the analytical processes can be so diverse that it opens up a practical problem of management and access to the data generated. At the same time, ensuring the privacy, identity, confidentiality and security of students and their data is a “sine qua non” condition for complying with the legal issues involved while achieving the required ethical premises. This work proposes a modular and scalable data system architecture that solves the complexity of data management and access. On the one hand, it allows educational institutions to collect any data generated in both the teaching-learning and management processes. Continuamos en este número de la revista con la sección: Investigaciones en la Universidad Autónoma de Madrid, con la que se pretende dar a conocer investigaciones relacionadas con diversas disciplinas científicas que se han desarrollado o se están llevando a cabo en la UAM, con el fin de describir de una forma simple y didáctica tales trabajos, y con ello los contenidos de diversas ramas del conocimiento, y cumplir así con la finalidad inherente a esta revista de divulgar la ciencia así como de contribuir al surgimiento de posibles ideas o iniciativas para posteriores investigaciones por parte de los jóvenes científicos, o de estudiantes universitarios de grado o posgrado que están en disposición y voluntad de llegar a serlo. Recovery and characterization of a Citrus clementina Hort. ex Tan. 'Clemenules' haploid plant selected to establish the reference whole Citrus genome sequence

<p>Abstract</p> <p>Background</p> <p>In recent years, the development of structural genomics has generated a growing interest in obtaining haploid plants. The use of homozygous lines presents a significant advantage for the accomplishment of sequencing projects. Commercial citrus species are characterized by high heterozygosity, making it difficult to assemble large genome sequences. Thus, the International Citrus Genomic Consortium (ICGC) decided to establish a reference whole citrus genome sequence from a homozygous plant. Due to the existence of important molecular resources and previous success in obtaining haploid clementine plants, haploid clementine was selected as the target for the implementation of the reference whole genome citrus sequence.</p> <p>Results</p> <p>To obtain haploid clementine lines we used the technique of <it>in situ </it>gynogenesis induced by irradiated pollen. Flow cytometry, chromosome counts and SSR marker (Simple Sequence Repeats) analysis facilitated the identification of six different haploid lines (2<it>n </it>= <it>x </it>= 9), one aneuploid line (2<it>n </it>= 2<it>x</it>+4 = 22) and one doubled haploid plant (2<it>n </it>= 2<it>x </it>= 18) of 'Clemenules' clementine. One of the haploids, obtained directly from an original haploid embryo, grew vigorously and produced flowers after four years. This is the first haploid plant of clementine that has bloomed and we have, for the first time, characterized the histology of haploid and diploid flowers of clementine. Additionally a double haploid plant was obtained spontaneously from this haploid line.</p> <p>Conclusion</p> <p>The first haploid plant of 'Clemenules' clementine produced directly by germination of a haploid embryo, which grew vigorously and produced flowers, has been obtained in this work. This haploid line has been selected and it is being used by the ICGC to establish the reference sequence of the nuclear genome of citrus.</p
