    O termo Economia do Mar é considerado complexo e interdisciplinar, e se refere à ciência que estuda o uso e a riqueza de recursos naturais existentes nos mares e nos oceanos, considerando diversas atividades econômicas. A presente pesquisa consiste em um ensaio teórico, e objetiva levantar discussões relacionadas à Economia do Mar, envolvendo as partes interessadas, associando-a, assim, à Teoria dos Stakeholders, considerando também as abordagens sobre gerenciamento dos stakeholders. Na pesquisa, a Economia do Mar é retratada como um setor constituído por diversas organizações, indústrias e pequenos empreendedores, abordando os principais pontos e relações com a sustentabilidade e com os conflitos entre os stakeholders dos mais diversos segmentos. Constatou-se a importância da participação e do envolvimento das partes interessadas nas discussões, elaborações, e também nas decisões. Foi destacada ainda a importância de se considerar as dimensões sociais, econômicas e ambientais de sustentabilidade na Economia do Mar

    Influence of pyroligneous extract on water quality and productive performance of Penaeus vannamei/ Influência do extrato pirolenhoso na qualidade de água e no desempenho produtivo de Penaeus vannamei

    Water is the main input used in shrimp farming, and the good quality of this natural resource is not only essential for the farmed animals’ welfare, but also for a good profitability at the end of the farming process inaquaculture species. Pyroligneous extract (PE) is a yellow to reddish-brown liquid obtained from the condensation of gases produced by partial wood combustion. This compound has been used for several purposes in different areas, such as in the fertilization of various vegetable crops and in soil conditioning. The objective of the present study was to evaluate the possible benefits of the application of pyroligneous extract on water quality and its consequences on the production performance of Penaeus vannamei. Six 1.0 ha ponds were used, 3 of which were used for the application of pyroligneous extract (WPE) and the other 3 without the extract (wPE) for comparison purposes. The extract was diluted in water and applied directly to the dry soil and after a few hours of reaction the ponds were filled with water and prepared for cultivation. There was a significant difference (p0.05) between the ponds (WPE) and (wPE) in the following water quality parameters: dissolved oxygen, pH, total alkalinity, total hardness, magnesium and silica. However, the values found were within the recommended range for shrimp farming.     Integrando Educação em Saúde como Estratégia-Chave na Prevenção do Câncer de Colo de Útero: Uma Revisão Sistemática

    Introduction: Cervical cancer prevention poses a significant challenge in the global public health arena, as this pathology continues to affect women worldwide. In this context, the integration of health education emerges as a key strategy, playing a crucial role in raising awareness, prevention, and promoting women's health. Methodology: The search was restricted to the last 5 years, considering the timeliness of the information. The applied filters included the requirement for access to the full text, prioritizing systematic reviews as a means to ensure a comprehensive and consolidated analysis of the existing scientific literature. The initial number of identified articles was 33. Results: Promoting proactive attitudes towards cervical cancer prevention goes beyond simple information dissemination. It involves cultivating a preventive mindset, encouraging women to adopt regular care practices and integrate preventive measures into their health routines. Conclusion: When considering patient profiles, risk factors, the importance of educational initiatives, screening, and the use of protective measures, it is possible to develop comprehensive and culturally sensitive approaches. These approaches aim not only to reduce the incidence of cervical cancer but also to promote women's overall health.Introdução: A prevenção do câncer de colo de útero representa um desafio significativo na arena global de saúde pública, uma vez que essa patologia continua a afetar mulheres em todo o mundo. Nesse contexto, a integração da educação em saúde surge como uma estratégia-chave, desempenhando um papel crucial na conscientização, prevenção e promoção da saúde feminina. Metodologia: A busca foi restrita aos últimos 5 anos, considerando a atualidade das informações, e os filtros aplicados incluíram a necessidade de acesso ao texto completo, priorizando revisões sistemáticas como forma de garantir uma análise abrangente e consolidada da literatura científica existente. O número inicial de artigos identificados foi de 33. Resultados: Promover atitudes proativas em relação à prevenção do câncer cervical vai além da simples disseminação de informações. Envolve cultivar uma mentalidade preventiva, encorajando as mulheres a adotarem práticas de cuidado regular e a integrarem medidas preventivas em suas rotinas de saúde Conclusão: Ao considerar o perfil do paciente, os fatores de risco, a importância das ações educativas, do rastreamento e da utilização de preservativos, é possível desenvolver abordagens abrangentes e culturalmente sensíveis, visando não apenas à redução da incidência, mas também à promoção da saúde feminina em sua totalidade.   &nbsp

    Perspectivas atuais sobre o uso de psilocibina no manejo da depressão resistente: revisão sistemática

    A depressão resistente ao tratamento é um desafio global, impactando negativamente a qualidade de vida dos pacientes. Nesse contexto, a psilocibina, um composto psicodélico presente em certos cogumelos, desperta interesse como possível intervenção terapêutica. Seu potencial para influenciar positivamente o humor e a cognição, através da ativação dos receptores de serotonina no cérebro, sugere uma nova abordagem no tratamento da depressão resistente. Este estudo busca analisar as perspectivas atuais sobre o uso da psilocibina nesse contexto, destacando a necessidade de mais pesquisas sobre seus efeitos e segurança para sua integração clínica. Este estudo, baseado em uma revisão sistemática da literatura científica, abrange o período de 2016 a 2024, utilizando as bases de dados PubMed (Medline), Cochrane Library e Scientific Electronic Library Online (SciELO). No primeiro estudo, os efeitos agudos da psilocibina foram detectáveis de 30 a 60 minutos após a administração, atingindo o pico em 2 a 3 horas e diminuindo após pelo menos 6 horas. A substância foi bem tolerada, com eventos adversos leves e transitórios. Houve uma redução significativa nos sintomas depressivos, ansiedade e anedonia após o tratamento com doses altas. O segundo estudo envolveu 233 participantes distribuídos em grupos de doses diferentes. Houve uma redução significativa nos sintomas depressivos após o tratamento, com doses mais altas apresentando uma diferença estatisticamente maior em comparação com a dose mais baixa e o grupo de controle. Eventos adversos, como dor de cabeça e náusea, foram comuns entre os participantes. O terceiro estudo abordou as perspectivas futuras para o tratamento com psilocibina para depressão resistente. Recomendações incluíram equilibrar o tempo dos pacientes e terapeutas, aumentar gradualmente a intensidade das sessões e integrar a terapia sustentada ao tratamento. O envolvimento de pacientes experientes e estudos naturalísticos adicionais foi destacado como importante para abordagens mais personalizadas. Em resumo, a psilocibina mostra potencial como tratamento para a depressão resistente, com redução significativa dos sintomas depressivos e boa tolerabilidade. No entanto, são necessárias mais pesquisas para confirmar sua eficácia e segurança, destacando a importância de estudos adicionais e ensaios clínicos controlados

    Biodiversity loss is one of the main challenges of our time,1,2 and attempts to address it require a clear un derstanding of how ecological communities respond to environmental change across time and space.3,4 While the increasing availability of global databases on ecological communities has advanced our knowledge of biodiversity sensitivity to environmental changes,5–7 vast areas of the tropics remain understudied.8–11 In the American tropics, Amazonia stands out as the world’s most diverse rainforest and the primary source of Neotropical biodiversity,12 but it remains among the least known forests in America and is often underrepre sented in biodiversity databases.13–15 To worsen this situation, human-induced modifications16,17 may elim inate pieces of the Amazon’s biodiversity puzzle before we can use them to understand how ecological com munities are responding. To increase generalization and applicability of biodiversity knowledge,18,19 it is thus crucial to reduce biases in ecological research, particularly in regions projected to face the most pronounced environmental changes. We integrate ecological community metadata of 7,694 sampling sites for multiple or ganism groups in a machine learning model framework to map the research probability across the Brazilian Amazonia, while identifying the region’s vulnerability to environmental change. 15%–18% of the most ne glected areas in ecological research are expected to experience severe climate or land use changes by 2050.     Prevalence, associated factors and outcomes of pressure injuries in adult intensive care unit patients: the DecubICUs study

Epidemiologic data is however unavailable. We aimed to provide an international picture of the extent of pressure injuries and factors associated with ICU-acquired pressure injuries in adult ICU patients. Methods: International 1-day point-prevalence study; follow-up for outcome assessment until hospital discharge (maximum 12 weeks). Factors associated with ICU-acquired pressure injury and hospital mortality were assessed by generalised linear mixed-effects regression analysis. Results: Data from 13,254 patients in 1117 ICUs (90 countries) revealed 6747 pressure injuries; 3997 (59.2%) were ICU-acquired. Overall prevalence was 26.6% (95% confidence interval [CI] 25.9–27.3). ICU-acquired prevalence was 16.2% (95% CI 15.6–16.8). Sacrum (37%) and heels (19.5%) were most affected. Factors independently associated with ICU-acquired pressure injuries were older age, male sex, being underweight, emergency surgery, higher Simplified Acute Physiology Score II, Braden score 3 days, comorbidities (chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, immunodeficiency), organ support (renal replacement, mechanical ventilation on ICU admission), and being in a low or lower-middle income-economy. Gradually increasing associations with mortality were identified for increasing severity of pressure injury: stage I (odds ratio [OR] 1.5; 95% CI 1.2–1.8), stage II (OR 1.6; 95% CI 1.4–1.9), and stage III or worse (OR 2.8; 95% CI 2.3–3.3). Conclusion: Pressure injuries are common in adult ICU patients. ICU-acquired pressure injuries are associated with mainly intrinsic factors and mortality. Optimal care standards, increased awareness, appropriate resource allocation, and further research into optimal prevention are pivotal to tackle this important patient safety threat
