In this text we show some of the tranformatios in the labour relations in the agroindustry sector that ocurred in the small rural family properties, located in the west of Santa Catarina's State and that are vinculated to Sadia's sistem of integration. Analise in particular the maintenance of the unequal sexual division of labour in the small poultry familiar productive unity. We underline yet some elements in the social‑sexual division of labour in this sector and indicate some challenges for the social service.

THE SOCIOSEXUAL AND RACIAL DIVISION OF WORK IN THE EPIDEMIC SCENARIO OF COVID-19: considerations from Heleieth SaffiotiIn this article we aim to analyze the impacts of the COVID-19 virus pandemic on the socio-sexual and racial division of labor in the Brazilian scenario. Based on the research carried out by the authors on women’s work, it was sought to highlight domestic and care work, understanding that it is performed mainly by black and poor women. In this way, the text is divided into two parts: the first where we propose to dialogue with HeleiethSaffioti – pioneer for the understanding of the social place of women in capitalism – on the sociosexual and racial division of labor and its expressions in contemporary society, and the second, we questioned the effects of the COVID-19 epidemic on the Brazilian labor market, emphasizing black women and female domestic work and wage care. Keywords: Work. Pequeno produtor rural familiar. Sistema de integração. Precarização. SMALL FAMILY-RUN POULTRY-RAISING AND THE INTEGRATION SYSTEM IN WESTERN SANTA CATARINA STATE: “an open-door prison” Claudia Mazzei Nogueira Edivane de Jesus This text is part of a study on the division of labor between sexes in small family-run poultry businesses, linked to the Integration System of the agro-industries, within the context of production restructuring. In order to do so, the text analyzes the aforementioned system in poultry-raising in western Santa Catarina State, contemplating some elements of the changes that have been occurring in the world of work and how these changes have intensified the precarious situation of small family farmers who raise poultry. KEY WORDS: Agro-Industry. Labor relations. Small Family Farmer. Integration System. Precariousness. Petit producteur rural familial. Système d’intégration. Précarisation. Pervasive gaps in Amazonian ecological research

Biodiversity loss is one of the main challenges of our time,1,2 and attempts to address it require a clear un derstanding of how ecological communities respond to environmental change across time and space.3,4 While the increasing availability of global databases on ecological communities has advanced our knowledge of biodiversity sensitivity to environmental changes,5–7 vast areas of the tropics remain understudied.8–11 In the American tropics, Amazonia stands out as the world’s most diverse rainforest and the primary source of Neotropical biodiversity,12 but it remains among the least known forests in America and is often underrepre sented in biodiversity databases.13–15 To worsen this situation, human-induced modifications16,17 may elim inate pieces of the Amazon’s biodiversity puzzle before we can use them to understand how ecological com munities are responding. To increase generalization and applicability of biodiversity knowledge,18,19 it is thus crucial to reduce biases in ecological research, particularly in regions projected to face the most pronounced environmental changes. We integrate ecological community metadata of 7,694 sampling sites for multiple or ganism groups in a machine learning model framework to map the research probability across the Brazilian Amazonia, while identifying the region’s vulnerability to environmental change. 15%–18% of the most ne glected areas in ecological research are expected to experience severe climate or land use changes by 2050. This means that unless we take immediate action, we will not be able to establish their current status, much less monitor how it is changing and what is being lostinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersio
