    Active filter to improve the energetic efficiency in electric installations.

    The Department of Electrical Engineering of the University Carlos III of Madrid has developed a prototype of active filter to compensate the disturbances that a nonlinear load produces. The active filters appears like the dynamic solution that best fits to the needs of compensation of electrical disturbances in industrial facilities. This active filter allows correcting the power factor of the installation. With this improvement, electrical consumes are reduced, which results in significant cost savings

Las pinturas de San Martin se inscriben dentro del período en que la sociedad chilena experimentó los cambios provenientes del proceso de modernización, los cuales estaban tramados con la tensión entre civilización y barbarie. A partir de la comprensión de la figura del niño como metáfora de la joven república, estas obras muestran la modernización de nuestra sociedad, el progreso de las ciudades, la importancia asignada a la instrucción para alcanzar un nivel de país avanzado, el camino por el cual transitar, en otras palabras, desde la barbarie a la civilización.The following article proposes to analyze the representation of childhood in the work of Chilean painter Cosme San Martin. San Martin’s paintings were made in the time when Chilean society was facing the changes associated with the arriving of modernity and are related to the tension between civilization and barbarianism.     En este artículo, se analizan biografías lectoras de alumnado del Grado en Maestro de Educación Infantil, es decir, relatos de la experiencia de vida relacionada directamente con el proceso de alfabetización o de lectura. Esta narrativa se plantea desde una perspectiva personal que contempla las emociones positivas y negativas en relación con la literatura. De este análisis, se extrae una serie de estrategias de animación a la lectura comunes como la dramatización, la creación personal, los debates sobre el libro, etc. Estas experiencias confluyen en la necesidad de una lectura mediada más allá de la etapa infantil, la lectura colectiva, la relación de las temáticas de la lectura con los gustos e intereses del lector/a, y la participación del alumno/a en el acto creador

    Teachers of Secondary School as democracy coaches: study of their conceptions during their initial formation

    This study has been developed within the framework of a European Erasmus + project called ELEF†. The aim of this project is to develop, implement, evaluate and replicate innovative democratic learning environments. With this purpose, the Democracy Coaches are trained as agents of citizen participation and generators of democracy, both in educational centres and in informal educational settings. In this context, and during various training sessions, the Democracy Coaches work with the knowledge and skills they need to acquire. This paper focuses on the study and analysis carried out on the concepts expressed by these teachers of secondary education during their training. In order for them to become democracy coaches in the formal educational field, we address concepts such as democracy, citizenship and the most appropriate teaching-learning methodology for illustrating these concepts and competences, bearing in mind that they should educate citizens with full awareness of their rights and duties
