Técnicas de ofensa y defensa a los fallos por corrupción de memoria

Las técnicas de ataque a aplicaciones por corrupción de memoria aprovechanlas debilidades de los programas para obtener ejecución de código arbitrario. Estosfallos de programación han sido utilizados por diferentes ataques desde la década delos ochenta. Este documento presenta las diferentes técnicas que puede utilizar unatacante para lograr su objetivo y las precauciones que debe tener un desarrolladorde aplicaciones, para evitar que su programa esté expuesto a vulnerabilidades quepermitan ejecutar ataques por corrupción de memoria. Los fabricantes de sistemasoperativos y compiladores introdujeron diferentes mecanismos de defensa paraproteger las aplicaciones. Estos mecanismos no son excluyentes y cada uno tiene suspropios objetivos de diseño para añadir nuevas capas de seguridad

Demonstration of multiplexed sensor system combining low coherence interferometry and microwave photonics

[EN] In this work, a multiplexed sensor system is proposed by means of the combination of low coherence interferometry (LCI) and microwave photonics (MWP). Variations of physical magnitudes can be measured in an array of head sensors by monitoring the optical path difference generated by each sensor. In this case, the characterization of the multiplexed sensor system is done through the electrical transfer function corresponding to the MWP-LCI system. Moreover, the effect produced by the mutual interaction among head sensors is analyzed in this work. Plan Departamental de Gestión del Riesgo Nariño 2008-2018

En Colombia, en los últimos cien años, han ocurrido grandes desastres, entre ellos se destacan en los años 80 el terremoto de Popayán (1983) y la erupción del Nevado del Ruiz (1985) que propiciaron la creación de la Ley 046 de 1988, el Decreto 919 de 1989 y la inclusión de la prevención y atención de desastres en la constitución política de 1991. Fundamentado en los anteriores hechos legales, surge el Sistema Nacional para la Prevención y atención de Desastres SNPAD, el cual delega la responsabilidad de los procesos de atención y prevención a las autoridades nacionales, regionales y locales quienes con el apoyo de la sociedad civil, deben entre otros, incorporar el componente de riesgo en los instrumentos de planificación de la gestión para garantizar el desarrollo sostenible de sus poblaciones. Para que esta función se cumpla, son necesarias directrices nacionales, regionales y sobre todo locales, todas ellas debidamente armonizadas entre sí para que desde los objetivos de la gestión ambiental local, sean los actores locales quienes por medio de la construcción de instrumentos de planificación orienten los planes, programas y proyectos de desarrollo contemplando los principios de la Gestión del Riesgo. Por lo anterior y teniendo en cuenta las diferentes amenazas naturales y antrópicas a las que se expone el Departamento de Nariño, se presenta el Plan Departamental de gestión de riesgo de desastres 2008/2018, construido con los actores regionales de la prevención y atención de desastres. El Plan identifica las principales necesidades regionales y particulares, además pretende convertirse en un instrumento de gestión que integre los procesos de desarrollo impulsados en la sociedad, para que se garanticen las condiciones óptimas de seguridad sobretodo en la población, en la infraestructura y principalmente en la inversión publica

Dataset for evaluating the accessibility of the websites of selected Latin American universities

This article presents the process of building a dataset for evaluation of the accessibility of 368 web pages, beginning with Webometrics rankings, the WAVE tool was used in the evaluation of the web pages. The dataset documents data on repeated errors with higher frequency, in such a way that they alert the web developers, supporting them in creating more inclusive and accessible websites for all types of people, including users with disabilities. The data show that university websites have frequent problems related to the lack of alternative text linked to images. Some of the university websites included in this dataset were found to violate web accessibility requirements based on the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.0 and 2.1. Therefore, this data has been shared to allow replication of the experiment, and serve as an input to future studies related to web accessibility. Alicia a través de la pantalla: adaptación, reescritura y mito en medios audiovisuales

A través de infinidad de adaptaciones, versiones y reescrituras, las novelas de Carroll se han perpetuado como dos de los textos más influyentes de la literatura occidental. En este trabajo analizaremos tres ejemplos de reescrituras audiovisuales con el fin de comprender qué efectos tiene la pervivencia de Alicia en aquellas obras que se pueden leer en relación con ella, y cómo afectan diversos medios y enfoques en las posibles transformaciones del material original.[eng]Alice and Wonderland are part of popular culture. Through myriad adaptations, versions and rewrites, Carroll’s novels have established themselves as two of most influential texts in Western Literature. In this work we will analyze three examples of audiovisual rewrites in order to understand the effect that Alicia has on those works that can be read in relation to her, and how different media and approaches affect the possible transformations of the original material

High performance low coherence interferometry using SSB modulation

[EN] Low coherence interferometry (LCI) is an optical measurement technique that has attracted the interest for relevant fields like medicine or sensing. With the objective of improving LCI capabilities, microwave photonics (MWP) arises as an innovative technology to enhance LCI possibilities. In this letter, a novel MWP-LCI approach is proposed and experimentally demonstrated to measure the optical path difference (OPD) of a sample. The operation principle of the technique is based on the analysis of the interference pattern through a dispersive element to retrieve its visibility using a vector network analyzer. Different capabilities of the system in terms of sensitivity, resolution, and SNR have been proved. In this case, the proposal is able to avoid carrier-suppression effect leading to a sensitivity improvement of 20 dB in comparison with previous structures for certain values of the OPD. Moreover, the OPD range has been extended up to 10 mm achieving an invariant resolution over all operation range. Finally, the improvement of the SNR of the system has been experimentally demonstrated by controlling properly the RF resonance profile through the adjustment of the optical source power distribution. Harmonic distortion in microwave photonic filters

Far from the conventional condition of low modulation index commonly used to neglect high-order terms, we have analyzed the harmonic distortion involved in microwave photonic structures with periodic and non-periodic frequency responses. Beckett, "Molloy": lenguaje del silencio

In his German Letter (1937), Beckett wrote about the meaningless of English, his mother tongue: “my own language seems to me more and more like a veil that has to be torn”. To break that veil the autor exposes what will be his literary program point by point. I pretend to use him to understand in depth his first novel: Molloy (1951). At the same time, I would say that the journey cannot be done in one direction: the reading of Molloy from German Letter is parallel to the reading of German Letter from Molloy. En su Carta alemana (1937), Beckett escribió acerca de lo “carente de sentido” que le resultaba el inglés, su lengua materna: “mi propia lengua cada vez se me antoja más un velo que ha de rasgarse para acceder a las cosas —o a la Nada— que haya tras él”. Para rasgar ese velo el autor expone el que será su programa literario (y de pensamiento) punto por punto. De él pretendo servirme para comprender en profundidad su primera novela: Molloy (1951). Al mismo tiempo, diría que el recorrido no puede hacerse en una sola dirección: la lectura de Molloy desde Carta alemana se da paralela a la lectura de Carta alemana desde Molloy.&nbsp

Concordancia entre los cursos iniciales de matemática a nivel universitario y el programa de estudios preuniversitario: Una mirada desde los contenidos y el rendimiento académico universitario

This article reports data about academic achievement in introductory university level mathematics courses taught by the Department of Mathematics at the Universidad Nacional de Costa Rica and the concordance between the contents of these courses and those of pre-university (secondary education) programs. Information was collected by analyzing grades from introductory university mathematics courses for all programs of study in the period 2011-2016, the courses offered, and the program of studies in mathematics in secondary education. This was done to determine academic performance and to make comparisons between introductory mathematics courses at university level and the program of mathematics studies in secondary education, to stimulate revision and updating of the courses and generate recommendations. The results show that there are high failure and dropout rates in most introductory university-level mathematics courses, and that there are differences between the content that students study in secondary education and the content of introductory mathematics courses offered by the Universidad Nacional; prior knowledge is therefore relevant for academic achievement in introductory university mathematics courses. In addition, the data collected on content and aspects of methodology and evaluation show important differences in the way mathematical contents are addressed at each level. This implies that analysis of the contents of these courses should be carried out and strategies should be created, to guarantee a minimum level of prior knowledge in students when beginning the study of these subjects at university level.En este artículo se reportan datos sobre el rendimiento académico en los cursos iniciales de matemática, a nivel universitario, que imparte Escuela de Matemática en la Universidad Nacional de Costa Rica y la concordancia entre los contenidos de estos y el programa de estudios preuniversitario que se desarrolla en la educación secundaria. La información se recabó por medio del análisis de las actas de notas de los cursos iniciales en el área, para todas las carreras en el periodo 2011-2016, los programas de los cursos ofertados y el programa de estudios de matemática para la educación secundaria. Lo anterior con el fin de determinar el rendimiento académico y realizar comparaciones entre los cursos iniciales de matemática a nivel universitario y el programa de estudios de secundaria, con el fin de generar argumentos para incentivar una revisión y actualización de los programas de los cursos y generar recomendaciones al respecto. Los resultados muestran que en la mayoría de los cursos iniciales del área a nivel universitario se presentan altos porcentajes de reprobación y deserción, existen diferencias entre los contenidos que el alumnado estudia en secundaria y los que se consideran como repaso o base en los cursos iniciales del área que oferta la Universidad Nacional, por lo que el conocimiento previo es un hecho que ha resultado relevante. Además, los datos recolectados respecto a contenidos y algunos aspectos sobre metodología y evaluación, ofrecen indicadores que permiten señalar importantes diferencias en la forma en que se abordan los contenidos matemáticos en ambos niveles. Esto implica que se debe realizar un análisis respecto a la temática de dichos cursos y crear estrategias para garantizar un conocimiento mínimo en el estudiantado para el estudio de las temáticas a nivel universitario
