Simple and practical optimization approach based to solve a truck load and delivery problem at long haul distances with heterogenous products

This paper proposes an optimization based approach for solving the logistic processes of deliveries scheduling and product accommodation during loading with a heterogeneous fleet of vehicles. The approach focuses on the case of products with “low density values” and high heterogeneous volume and weight, and with traveling large distances to different zones, in which transportation costs constitute a important proportion of total logistic costs. The proposed approach consists of a two-phase strategy: The first uses a “Cutting Stock Problem” formulation to define utilization areas inside trucks assigned to each product family. This task is achieved by minimizing the long-haul transportation costs as a function of the vehicle size, considering a set of predefined solutions for feasible and efficient loading obtained as a result of the accumulated experience. The second phase consists of Bin Packing Problem version with a known number of bins, which were previously determined in the first phase of the approach. In this phase, different orders from a set of customers are assigned to each truck by obeying the predefined utilization areas per product category obtained in the first phase while minimizing the number of visits of each truck. The results show that the model addresses the analyzed problem in an efficient manner, which is reflected in reasonable resolution times and costs from a practical implementation perspective. Additionally, it is observed that long-haul delivery costs and vehicle utilization tend to improve with the increase of the utilized number of patterns even when the execution time is incremented.MaestríaMagister en Ingeniería Civi

Integración de instrumentos técnicos y conceptuales en la enseñanza de la geometría. Una propuesta para la formación inicial de maestros

Este trabajo describe el diseño de una secuencia formativa para el aprendizaje de contenidos de geometría, dirigida a estudiantes para maestros de primaria del Programa Nacional de Formación de Educadores de la Universidad Bolivariana de Venezuela. El diseño busca favorecer el uso de un software de geometría dinámica (Cabri-Géomètre) y de información teórica necesaria para la interpretación del aprendizaje y de la enseñanza de la geometría en la realización de tareas profesionales específicas. La propuesta ha sido organizada en tres temas vinculados entre sí. Para cada tema, se describen los objetivos de aprendizaje, las tareas a ser realizadas por los estudiantes para maestro, la metodología y los recursos. Two extensions of consumer surplus

We study consumer surplus in a single market when (a) there is a lower bound in the consumption of the outside good and (b) the weights in the social welfare function given to consumers and firms are different. We assume quasilinear utility. When the lower bound constraint on the consumption of the outside good is binding, income effects arise in demand. In some cases, Cournot equilibrium output is below equilibrium output without this constraint because the constraint makes demand less elastic.When the weights given to consumers and firms are not identical, social welfare is not necessarily concave and profits might be negative at the unrestricted optimum. We characterize social welfare optimum with a bound on maximum losses in a class of utility functions. We offer a formula to find the percentage of welfare losses due to oligopoly in this case

Evaluación de la enseñanza problematizada sobre la luz y la visión en la educación secundaria obligatoria

Después de la planificación de la enseñanza problematizada sobre la luz y la visión para la ESO (12-16 años) y haber obtenido pruebas empíricas de su relevancia didáctica potencial (Osuna et al., 2007), en este nuevo trabajo presentamos los resultados de la puesta en práctica de una secuencia de enseñanza diseñada según las indicaciones de esa planificación. En concreto, mostramos que su aplicación en el aula produce mejoras en los niveles de comprensión del modelo de visión de Kepler, considerado el objetivo clave de la enseñanza de la óptica geométrica en este nivel educativo. Aunque el tema resulta dificultoso, los estudiantes mejoran los indicadores de apropiación (orientación, implicación y actitud favorable).Following the planning of problem-based teaching about light and vision for ESO (12-16 years) and obtaining empirical evidence of its potential educational relevance (Osuna el al., 2007), this new work presents the results of the implementation of a teaching sequence designed according to that planning. In particular, we show that its implementation in the classroom leads to an improved understanding of Kepler's vision model, which is considered a key objective in the teaching of geometrical optics at this level. El Código Técnico de la Edificación. Los avances técnicos reglamentarios sobre "Seguridad en caso de incendio"

[EN] The aim to reduce to acceptable limits the risk that the users of a building suffer damages derived from an accidental fire, as a consequence of the characteristics of the project and construction of the building, as well as of its maintenance and use, will remain reflected in the new Spanish regulation – the Technical Building Code (CTE)– and in the Basic Document "Security in case of Fire", in which parameters and procedures are specified to satisfy basic requirements and to reach minimal levels of quality in buildings in case of fire. To guarantee the fulfillment of the basic requirements checking methods and accepted solutions are proposed in the Basic Document in different fields like compartmentation, reaction to fire of materials, smoke control or fire resistance of structures.[ES] El objetivo de reducir a límites aceptables el riesgo de que los usuarios de un edificio sufran daños derivados de un incendio de origen accidental, como consecuencia de las características del proyecto y construcción del edificio, así como de su mantenimiento y uso, quedará reflejado en la nueva reglamentación española –el Código Técnico de la Edificación (CTE)– y en concreto en el Documento Básico "Seguridad en caso de Incendio". En él se especifican parámetros y procedimientos cuyo cumplimiento asegura la satisfacción de las exigencias básicas y la superación de los niveles mínimos de calidad en la edificación en caso de incendio. Hate speech and consequences in LGTBI+ collective

Desde hace años, la tendencia creciente del discurso del odio en el mundo que nace en la política se ha trasladado a la sociedad de todos los países del panorama mundial. Actualmente, se observa un crecimiento exponencial de los partidos que defienden aquellas tesis más extremistas en el ámbito social, afectando de pleno a la discriminación y la inquina de parte de la sociedad con los grupos más vulnerables. Este es el caso del colectivo LGTBI+, que siempre ha sido un sector de la población que se ha enfrentado y sigue enfrentándose a situaciones discriminatorias. En este reportaje a modo de podcast, tratamos los motivos que han causado este aumento de los delitos de odio y las agresiones, y analizamos la protección que tienen las personas del colectivo en determinados ámbitos. Un recorrido por el Parlamento Europeo, por las asociaciones LGTBI+, por las aulas de los institutos y universidades o por las discotecas y locales de ocio nocturno de la capital española, dará una visión completa sobre cómo viven las personas LGTBI+ su día a día. Además, permitirá analizar cuáles son los puntos débiles de una sociedad que, no protege a todos sus ciudadanos y ciudadanas en la misma medida.For years, the growing trend of hate speech in the world that is born in politics has moved to the society of all countries on the world scene. Currently, there is an exponential growth of the parties that defend the most extremist theses in the social sphere, fully affecting discrimination and resentment on the part of society with the most vulnerable groups. This is the case of the LGTBI+ collective, which has always been a sector of the population that has faced and continues to face discriminatory situations. In this podcast-like report, we deal with the reasons that have caused this increase in hate crimes and attacks, and we analyse the protection that members of the group have in certain areas. A tour of the European Parliament, through the LGTBI+ associations, through the classrooms of institutes and universities or through the discos and nightlife venues of the Spanish capital, will give a complete vision of how LGTBI+ people live their day to day. In addition, it will allow analysing the weak points of a society that does not protect all its citizens to the same extent

Construcción de un albergue en madera en el P.N. de la Font Roja

[ES] El presente trabajo tiene como objeto la construcción de un albergue rural en la zona del Parque Natural del Carrascal de la Font Roja, en la localidad de Alcoi (Alicante), en suelo edificado catalogado como rural protegido. El Parque Natural de la Font Roja se encuentra situado en la sierra del Menetjador (comarca de l¿Alcoià) entre los términos municipales de Alcoi e Ibi; con una superficie de 2.298 hectáreas por las que realizar senderismo a través de multitud de rutas habilitadas por frondosos bosques de carrascas únicos en la Comunitat Valenciana. Además, dentro del área natural se localizan la cumbre del Menetjador (1.356 msnm) y el alto de la Teixereta (1.339 msnm) que, junto con el santuario neoclásico de la Font Roja y su centro de interpretación, conforman un Parque Natural con un alto valor ecológico y paisajístico de gran demanda turística. El diseño del albergue cumple los requisitos establecidos por el Decreto 75/2015, de 15 de mayo, del Consell, regulador de los establecimientos hoteleros de la Comunitat Valenciana. [2015/4640]; está constituido por dos plantas de 280 metros cuadrados cada una, con cubierta a dos aguas y pretende dar alojamiento a un total de 34 huéspedes. La totalidad de la estructura está compuesta madera maciza de clase resistente C27, y el conjunto de cálculos de esta y la metodología empleada para llevarla a cabo se basa en el CTE SE-M y en el CTE SE-AE. Con la utilización de madera como elemento estructural se pretende promover el uso de elementos de baja huella de carbono y de carácter renovable; además de promocionar la aplicación de elementos constructivos con un grado de integración adecuado para espacios naturales como es el de la Font Roja. En el documento se plantean los aspectos formales y contenidos mínimos requeridos por la Escuela Técnica Superior de Ingeniería Agronómica y del Medio Rural, por lo que se establece en primer lugar una memoria, donde son incluidos los anejos que contendrán los cálculos para la creación de la estructura en madera. En el dimensionamiento de la estructura se verificará que cumple las condiciones de resistencia y de pandeo realizando los pertinentes cálculos con ayuda del programa SAP2000. A su vez, se elaboran los cálculos necesarios para la realización de la instalación de fontanería, y el resto de documentos del conjunto del proyecto como planos, pliego de condiciones y presupuesto.[EN] The following project has as objective the building of a rural hostel in the Natural Park at the Carrascal de la Font Roja, in the locality of Alcoy (Alicante), build up in rural protected land. The use of wood as a structural element is meant to promote the use of low carbon footprint and renewable elements; in addition to support the application of construction elements with a suitable integration with natural spaces such as the Font Roja. This document includes the formal aspects and the minimum contents required by the Superior Technical School of Agronomic Engineering and Rural Areas. Firstly, it is introduced a report with the attached documents, that includes the calculations needed for the wood structure. Acute Effects of Different Postactivation Potentiation Protocols on Traditional Rowing Performance

Postactivation potentiation (PAP) describes an initial muscular activation with a submaximal or maximal load intensity that produces acute improvements in muscle power and performance in subsequent explosive activities. The objective of this study was to compare the effect of different PAP protocols in rowing performance. A crossover design involving seven rowers was used, in which two different PAP protocols were applied: PAP of maximal conditioning contractions (PAP MCC) on a rowing ergometer to provide greater transferability and, thus, enhance the magnitude of PAP stimuli on subsequent rowing performance; and PAP of maximal strength contractions (PAP MSC) in half squat and bench pull exercises, similar to the main exercises in rowing strength training, to perform a 20 s “all-out” test simulating a competition start. Student’s t-test was used to compare means of the variables (p < 0.05). Effect size statistics were calculated using Cohen’s d. The PAP MCC protocol resulted in significant differences, with an extremely large effect size in average power output (p = 0.034, d = 0.98) in the first 3 (p = 0.019, d = 1.15) and first 5 (p = 0.036, d = 0.91) strokes. This group also reached a greater number of strokes (p = 0.049, d = 2.29) and strokes per minute (p = 0.046, d = 1.15). PAP with maximal conditioning contractions in rowing warm-up enhanced subsequent rowing sprint and is an advisable strategy to potentiate performance at the start of rowing competitions and sprint regattas
