[Abstract] Pelvic floor hypertonicity and narrowing of the levator ani hiatus is traditionally assumed in women with dyspareunia and considered a therapeutical target by physical therapists. However, accurate pre-treatment assessment of pelvic floor muscles is difficult to perform in clinical sites. In addition, the abdominal musculature has not been evaluated in this population, despite its relationship with pelvic floor disfunctions. The purpose of this study was to determine the existence of differences in the length of the anteroposterior diameter of the levator ani hiatus (APDH), the thickness of the abdominal wall musculature and the interrecti distance (IRD) in subjects with dyspareunia compared to a control group. A cross-sectional observational study was designed using ultrasound imaging to measure the APH, the thickness of the abdominal musculature—rectus abdominis (RA), transverse abdominis (TrAb), internal oblique (IO), external oblique (EO)—and IRD at rest and during contraction. Thirty-two women were recruited through advertising and social webs and divided into two groups: dyspareunia (n = 16) and no dyspareunia (n = 16). There were no statistically significant differences (p < 0.05) in RA, TrAb, OI and OE muscle thickness. No differences in APH or in supraumbilical and infraumbilical IRD were found. The findings of this study suggest that the relationship between the abdominal structure/levator ani hypertonia and dyspareunia remains uncertain

Research in Human Sciences does not consist only in giving an account of significant experiences of people, but in finding new concepts that make reality better understood. In this research, we present experiences of people who are victims of the conflict; they give an account of their fears, of how the armed conflict devastated their daily lives. We found that the perception of their own life bordered on the null value of it (naked lives). In the same way, we discovered that such fear, and that absence of value, was the entrance to redefine existence and put it in an orbit of a re-elaboration of the vital symbolic horizon. There is a mobilization to unthinkable places of self-understanding, but also the desire not to stay in the same place of enunciation, which has led them to resignify their historical evolution and the place of the conflict in personal and collective history.

Strategies and evaluation procedures in mathematics change over time adapting to new needs of both teaching and assessment, which is why there is a need for skills assessment which is characterized by its didactic, deductive and application context. Determine the adequacy of knowledge through attitudes and skills as the result of a complex set of teaching-learning process in certain situations is the ability to apply disciplinary knowledge and expertise; (Q Diaz, Veronica Poblete L, Alvaro, 2009) "Similarly, competition is associated with competency frameworks contexts math teacher, consisting of mathematical objects as teaching both transverse and evolving content, the teacher places at stake in their actions in the classroom”. Problem solving has been a constant activity in the area of mathematics which involves the application of knowledge and reasoning as new strategies and concepts acquired, in addition to the child's first experiences with math takes place through solving problems, which is why the development of this research project, to take place in the third grade students of elementary school education; For purposes of this study it will be based on the teaching strategies implemented in both the educational process teaching mathematical content and its assessment of learning through competences. Microplastics (MPs) have been detected in all environmental locations, including the atmosphere. However, few studies have investigated the presence of airborne MPs in the human respiratory system. Our research purpose was to investigate these pollutants in the lower human airways of 44 adult European citizens, using bronchoalveolar lavage fluid (BALF) collection as a minimally invasive method, that enables the detection of these pollutants in living patients. We studied the relationship between the patients’ life habits and physiological parameters, based on background information and medical and occupational history, and the concentration of MPs isolated from their respiratory systems. Our results indicate that most MPs were in the form of microfibers (MFs) (97.06%), with an average concentration of 9.18 ± 2.45 items/100 mL BALF, and only 5.88% (0.57 ± 0.27 items/100 mL BALF) were particulate MPs, without a significant relationship with environmental, physiological, or clinical factors. The average size was 1.73 ± 0.15 mm, with the longest dimension (9.96 mm) corresponding to a polyacrylic fiber. Taken together, the results demonstrated the occurrence of MPs in the lower human airway, although more studies are necessary to elucidate the negative effects these pollutants could induce in the human respiratory system and its associated diseases. We wish to express our sincere appreciation to José V. Navarro for safe BALF samples transportation form HGUE to UPCT and back, as well as to the HGUE Pneumology Service, particularly to Sandra Ruiz, Lucía Zamora, Maria José Soler, Asunción Guillén, and Carmen María Vidal for their help in BALF samples collection and investigation support.
