Students’ experiences of university social responsibility and perceptions of satisfaction and quality of service
The principal aim of this paper is to identify the factors that define students’ perceptions of university social responsibility (USR) in a Spanish university, and analyse the impact of that view on their perceptions of satisfaction and quality of service. Particularly, it is hypothesized that the overall perception of university social responsibility has a positive effect on students’ experiences of satisfaction, partially mediated by the assessment regarding the quality of university services. In doing that, a self-report study was conducted with a total sample of 400 undergraduate students of the University of León, in Spain. Structural equation modeling with PLS was used to test the students’ overall perception of USR in order to achieve higher standards of quality of service and satisfaction. Results supported a structure of six factors explaining students’ views regarding university social responsibility, of which only internal management affects the overall perception. Likewise, quality of service and satisfaction are strongly correlated among them. Implications of these findings for marketing in university settings are discussed. Keywords: University social responsibility, public marketing, higher education, satisfaction, quality of service, Spain</p
DNA expansions generated by human Polμ on iterative sequences
Polm is the only DNA polymerase equipped with
template-directed and terminal transferase
activities. Polm is also able to accept distortions in
both primer and template strands, resulting in
misinsertions and extension of realigned mismatched
primer terminus. In this study, we
propose a model for human Polm-mediated dinucleotide
expansion as a function of the
sequence context. In this model, Polm requires an
initial dislocation, that must be subsequently
stabilized, to generate large sequence expansions
at different 50-P-containing DNA substrates,
including those that mimic non-homologous endjoining
(NHEJ) intermediates. Our mechanistic
studies point at human Polm residues His329 and
Arg387 as responsible for regulating nucleotide expansions
occurring during DNA repair transactions,
either promoting or blocking, respectively, iterative
polymerization. This is reminiscent of the role of
both residues in the mechanism of terminal transferase
activity. The iterative synthesis performed by
Polm at various contexts may lead to frameshift
mutations producing DNA damage and instability,
which may end in different human disorders,
including cancer or congenital abnormalitiesMinisterio de Ciencia y Tecnologia [BFU2009-10085 and

Regional differences in AIDS and non-AIDS related mortality in HIV-positive individuals across Europe and Argentina: the EuroSIDA study
BACKGROUND
Differences in access to care and treatment have been reported in Eastern Europe, a region with one of the fastest growing HIV epidemics, compared to the rest of Europe. This analysis aimed to establish whether there are regional differences in the mortality rate of HIV-positive individuals across Europe, and Argentina.
METHODS
13,310 individuals under follow-up were included in the analysis. Poisson regression investigated factors associated with the risk of death.
FINDINGS
During 82,212 person years of follow-up (PYFU) 1,147 individuals died (mortality rate 14.0 per 1,000 PYFU (95% confidence interval [CI] 13.1-14.8). Significant differences between regions were seen in the rate of all-cause, AIDS and non-AIDS related mortality (global p<0.0001 for all three endpoints). Compared to South Europe, after adjusting for baseline demographics, laboratory measurements and treatment, a higher rate of AIDS related mortality was observed in East Europe (IRR 2.90, 95%CI 1.97-4.28, p<.0001), and a higher rate of non-AIDS related mortality in North Europe (IRR 1.51, 95%CI 1.24-1.82, p<.0001). The differences observed in North Europe decreased over calendar-time, in 2009-2011, the higher rate of non-AIDS related mortality was no longer significantly different to South Europe (IRR 1.07, 95%CI 0.66-1.75, p = 0.77). However, in 2009-2011, there remained a higher rate of AIDS-related mortality (IRR 2.41, 95%CI 1.11-5.25, p = 0.02) in East Europe compared to South Europe in adjusted analysis.
INTERPRETATIONS
There are significant differences in the rate of all-cause mortality among HIV-positive individuals across different regions of Europe and Argentina. Individuals in Eastern Europe had an increased risk of mortality from AIDS related causes and individuals in North Europe had the highest rate of non-AIDS related mortality. These findings are important for understanding and reviewing HIV treatment strategies and policies across the European region

Comparative analysis of the mechanical limits of resistance in implant/abutment set of a new implant design: An in vitro study
Objective: The aim of the present in vitro study was to evaluate the resistance on quasi-static forces and in the fatigue mechanical cycling of a new implant design compared to two other conventional implant designs.
Materials and methods: Eighty-eight implants with their respective abutments were tested and distributed into four groups (n = 22 per group): Morse taper connection implant (MT group), conventional external hexagon implant (EH con group), new Collo implant of external hexagon with the smooth portion out of the bone insertion (EH out group), and new Collo implant of external hexagon with the implant platform inserted to the bone level (EH bl group). All the sets were subjected to quasi-static loading in a universal testing machine, and we measured the maximum resistance force supported by each sample. Another 12 samples from each group were submitted to the cyclic fatigue test at 4 intensities of forces (n = 3 per force): 80%, 60%, 40%, and 20%. The number of cycles supported by each sample at each force intensity was
evaluated. Results: The three groups of implants with external hexagon connection had similar maximum strength values of the sets (p > 0.05). Meanwhile, samples from the MT group showed the highest resistance values in comparison to the other three groups (p < 0.05). In the fatigue test, the Collo out group supported a smaller number of cycles that led to the fracture than the other 3 groups proposed at loads of 80%, 60%, and 40%, and only at the load value of 20% all groups had the same performance.
Conclusions: Within the limitations of the present in vitro study, the results showed that the new Collo implant performs better when installed at bone level.Part of this work was supported by

The management of the sport from an educational perspective in Human Kinetics
The research presented attempts to link local government planning, sports management and operation of public policy. It aims to
investigate the perceptions of community members on the management of the services offered by the Local Administration (especially the ones
relative to sport), and to contribute to alternatives for change, in order to improve municipal management in Human Kinetics using an educational
perspective. Presented as a case study, this work is a descriptive and interpretive analysis which uses a qualitative methodology, where in depth interview
is presented as the main tool for collecting data. Results show that agents talk more about understanding the environment, city/town, sport, and
associations (criticism) than about actual proposals for improvement and change. It is concluded that local sport must steer clear of trends such as sport
repetition and focus more on peoples’ own motor functions and on developing a sport alternative.
