Olympic and paralympic games Rio 2016: a technical-tactical analysis of judo matches

The purpose of this study was to compare the athletes’ scores, penalties and efficiency between the Olympic and Paralympic Games Rio 2016, and identify which variable determined the winner of the matches. A total of 608 matches in the Olympic and Paralympic Games were analysed. Total relative scores (ippon, waza ari and yuko), penalties (shido per match) and efficiency were identified in the male and female categories, Olympic and Paralympic Games, and medallists and non-medallists. The main results showed that waza ari was higher in the Olympic Games (p=.05) than in the Paralympic Games (male team); ippon was higher in the Paralympic Games (p=.05) and shido was higher in the Olympic Games (p=.05) (female team). The male Olympic medallists were more efficient (p=.01), while the female Paralympic medallists were less penalised (p=.01). Ippon was the key variable that determined winning in both the Olympic and Paralympic matches (p<.001). We concluded that the male Olympic judo athletes showed greater efficiency and scores than Paralympians, while the female team presented more scores and fewer penalties. Ippon was the key point that determined victory in most of the matches

Molecular screening of antibiotic-resistant determinants among multidrug-resistant clinical isolates of Proteus mirabilis from SouthWest Nigeria

Background: Globally, and particularly in developing countries, the menace of anti-microbial resistance is an accelerating problem. In Nigeria, increase in bacterial resistance has been phenotypically established but due to high cost, few molecular studies have been reported.Objectives: This study screened for presence of transferable resistance genes and mobile genetic elements (MGEs) such as integron among multi-drug resistant (MDR) P. mirabilis.Methods: A total of 108 P. mirabilis strains collected from five tertiary hospitals in SouthWest Nigeria were subjected to antibiotic susceptibility study using disc-diffusion method. Transferable resistance genes and MGEs were amplified using Polymerase chain reaction (PCR) analysis and amplicons sequenced.Results: Varied resistance was observed against all the antibiotics tested. About 56% of the isolates were MDR including those from 0-12 years old children. PCR analysis revealed the presence of aac(6’)-Ib (33.3%), plasmid mediated quinolone resistance (PMQR) genes [qnrA (36.7%), acc(6’)-Ib-cr (5%)], TEM (48.3%), CTX-M (6.7%) and integrons class 1 (58.3%) and class 2 (26.7%). Sequencing analysis revealed blaTEM-1, blaCTX-M-15 associated with ISEcp1 and eight different arrays of gene cassettes: aadA1, aadA1-qacH, aadB-aadA2, aadA5, dfrA7, dfrA15, dfrA17, dfrA17-aadA5.Conclusion: Transferable resistance genes in association with MGEs are present in Nigerian P. mirabilis thus their potential in disseminating resistance.Keywords: Multidrug resistance, resistance determinants, integrase, gene cassettes, Proteus mirabili

HOMEOPATHIC PRODUCT IN DOG DIETS MODULATE BLOOD CELL RESPONSES

Every year, numbers and life expectancies of pets increase, especially for dogs and cats. Pets are exposed to environmental factors such as pollutants, pathogens, and oxidants that hamper the animals’ ability to respond to stressors. Nutrition and hygiene are increasingly important among animal professionals and pet owners. The objective of this study was to evaluate the efficacy of a commercially-available homeopathic herbal product formulated with plants, designed to stimulate canine immunity. We used 10 male dogs (beagles) weighing 5.5–6 kg and 5 months of age. Animals were randomly allocated to Control (C, n = 5) and Treated (T, n = 5) groups. The treated group received a basal diet with an additional dose of 0.5 mL/animal/day homeopathic solution and group C received only the basal diet (300 g/day). The product was supplied for 45 days. The animals were weighed and blood samples collected for complete blood counts and serum biochemistry on days 1, 15, 30 and 45 of the experiment. Higher numbers of lymphocytes were observed in conjunction with lower numbers of neutrophils in the T group on days 30 and 45. Total and neutrophil leukocytes decreased throughout the experiment in both groups, and lymphocytes increased with significant difference only in the T group. Erythrocytes and hematocrit increased in both groups over time, as did glucose, triglycerides, total protein, albumin and urea levels. ALT was higher in the control group on day 45. We conclude that the use of a homeopathic agent stimulated lymphocyte production in healthy dogs; and this suggests that homeopathic use is beneficial, because lymphocytes are directly related to cellular and humoral immune responses. Studies in adult animals and those focusing on infectious challenges may reveal more information about the actions of this homeopathic agent

Digital Observation: An Analysis of Patriarchal Comments in the Web

Through the journey of the plurality of feminisms, we find ourselves today in the fourth wave, in which cyberactivism predominates, with feminist articulations going through the street/network axis. Thus, we sought to consolidate the arguments in defense of feminism from the analysis of the opposite reactions found online. The locus was the cyberspace itself, where comments were found in web news posts that contained controversial contents linked to themes worked out by feminism in their plurality. The qualitative approach was defined based on non-participant systematic observation and content analysis. Nine categories were extracted, including blaming the victim of violence, discrediting female accusations of violence, stigma of prostitution, social concept of Marianism, objectification of the female body, myth of female hysteria, myth of maternal love, sexual and reproductive rights, demerit the relevance of female representativeness, among other subjects. It has been found that chauvinism and misogyny are social reproductions engendered regardless of gender; whereas the demands on female behavior are mostly associated with an accusatory tone, with responsibilities reversed; that there is still the view that women do not have emancipatory capacity to achieve their successes and that, thus, they must take hold of what man has achieved from his privileges; that sexist attitudes are detrimental to society as a whole and not only to women and; Thus, most of society still does not understand the relevance of female representativeness in the various spaces

Avaliação da Disponibilidade de Espaços Verdes Públicos no Contexto Urbano e a Sua Relação com a Perceção dos Residentes. Um Estudo para a Cidade de Bragança, Portugal

Los espacios verdes públicos urbanos (EVPU) son elementos fundamentales en la ciudad. Este estudio sobre Bragança (Portugal), tuvo como objetivo la evaluación de la oferta de EVPU y de las actitudes y percepciones de los residentes. De la aplicación de los indicadores resulta que esta ciudad presenta una oferta desigual, con un déficit de oferta en los barrios de expansión urbana. La lectura de las percepciones y actitudes demuestra que gran parte de los encuestados hacia uso de los EVPU, con actitudes diferenciadas, entre las que se destaca: las visitas a EVPU de mayor dimensión y en desplazamientos peatonales cortos. La lectura cualitativa fue positiva, sin embargo, hay diferencias en la percepción de calidad por barrios corroborada por la aplicación de los indicadores

He reform of theHungarian higher education and the non-university sector

One of the most important weak points of the Hungarian higher education (just like the Central European higher education system) in the communist era was the extremely low access rate, roughly around 10% of the age group in the region. Such a system cuts the way before a large percentage of the age group towards post-secondary education and we cannot help thinking about political considerations of the governing nomenclature behind it. In some countries of the region the situation could be qualified even anticonstitutional since the respective constitutions stipulated: Each citizen, having graduated from the secondary education system has the right to enter the post-secondary education in a filiere appropriately chosen according to his or her capacities. Beyond this bottleneck at the access to higher education another common characteristic of the region higher education system were the inappropriate, if existing, links between education and economy. This bad relationship is especially dangerous in a period of rapid economical and social changes of the society. Regardless of the direction of the changes, the accelerated evolution of the society necessitates a high level of adaptability of the education and training system. Traditional higher education systems with their long cycle courses - Iet alone the sometimes obsolete curricula - are not able to satisfy the rapidly appearing needs of the new economical system. ln the same time on the traditional fields the good performance of the higher educational systems was weIl known. JOGO EDUCATIVO PARA A PREVENÇÃO DA ALIENAÇÃO PARENTAL DE CRIANÇAS E ADOLESCENTES

Objective: To report the development of an educational technology for children and adolescents in a game format aimed at parental alienation as a Nursing intervention. Method: Study of the experience report type. It was developed by students and professors of a Public University of Pernambuco, during the distance learning experience, from March to April 2021. It complied with the guidelines of Resolution No. 466/2012. For construction, the proposal was used in stages of design thiking, through a bibliographic survey, preparation of the game design, development of the game itself and evaluation. Results: The production of the game "AlieNÃO" provided academics with an expansion of their knowledge about technological tools, as well as the discovery of instruments that can be used for health education, aiming to fit this methodology to the current context and achieve the maximum of users. Final considerations: The educational game developed is a current and innovative method that can be used as an accessible technological didactic resource for use in schools and health units to discuss this problem.Objetivo: Informar el desarrollo de una tecnología educativa para niños y adolescentes en formato de juego orientado a la alienación parental como intervención de Enfermería. Método: Estudio del tipo de relato de experiencia. Fue desarrollado por estudiantes y profesores de una Universidad Pública de Pernambuco, durante la experiencia de aprendizaje a distancia, de marzo a abril de 2021. Se cumplió con los lineamientos de la Resolución No. 466/2012. Para la construcción, la propuesta se utilizó en etapas de pensamiento de diseño, a través de un relevamiento bibliográfico, elaboración del diseño del juego, desarrollo del propio juego y evaluación. Resultados: La producción del juego "AlieNÃO" brindó a los académicos una expansión de sus conocimientos sobre herramientas tecnológicas, así como el descubrimiento de instrumentos que pueden ser utilizados para la educación en salud, con el objetivo de adecuar esta metodología al contexto actual y lograr el máximo de usuarios. Consideraciones finales: El juego educativo desarrollado es un método actual e innovador que puede ser utilizado como un recurso didáctico tecnológico accesible para ser utilizado en escuelas y unidades de salud para discutir esta problemática.Objetivo: Relatar o desenvolvimento de uma tecnologia educativa para crianças e adolescentes no formato de game direcionado à alienação parental como intervenção de Enfermagem. Método: Estudo do tipo relato de experiência. Foi desenvolvido por discentes e docentes de uma Universidade Pública de Pernambuco, durante a experiência do ensino a distância, de março a abril de 2021. Respeitou as diretrizes da Resolução n° 466/2012. Para construção utilizou-se da proposta em etapas do design thiking, por meio do levantamento bibliográfico, desenvolvimento das etapas do design do game, elaboração do game propriamente dito e apresentação. Resultados: A produção do game “AlieNÃO” proporcionou aos acadêmicos uma ampliação de seus conhecimentos acerca das ferramentas tecnológicas, bem como a descoberta de instrumentos que podem ser utilizados para educação em saúde, visando enquadrar essa metodologia ao contexto da atualidade e atingir o máximo de usuários.
