Assessment and control of human resource strategies in the tourism sector. Empirical evidence at Granada and Málaga province.
Attraction and Retention of Talent in the Tourism Sector. Empirical Evidence in the South of Europe
www.isce-turismo.comThe effect that an increase on the workmanship’s quality in the tourism sector, has over the productivity increase, the improvement of living conditions and the economic growth is widely known. In this context, strategy in human resources, one of the key factors in achieving a competitive advantage, must be a stimulus to attract the most talented human capital and to develop its career in this sector, which will result in an improvement in the business performance expectations.
The aim in this report is to obtain empirical evidence about the attraction and retention of the human capital with special abilities, in the Andalusian tourism sector (with special reference to Málaga and Granada), using educational disparity as a proxy.
The methodology used in its analysis has been the statistical method, in the trend-based version, after categorizing the hotel establishments (in Málaga and Granada) using discriminating analysis of aggregate economic information most relevant to each enterprise. For the application of the statistical method, information from a survey done to hotel establishments and a Delphi analysis to experts and community leaders, have been used.
The most relevant conclusion, in general terms, concerns the disparity between the assessment of the importance attached to the Human Resources Strategy and its development in practice. In this way, a dichotomy in the level of education can be perceived as an over-education problem, while at the same time formal training is insufficient for efficient performance at work.ISCE, Apidit, Host, MOR Douro Valley, Travelport and Caixa Geral de Depósitos (Portugal
Long-term decline of the European wild rabbit (Oryctolagus cuniculus) in south-western Spain
The European wild rabbit (Oryctolagus cuniculus) is a species native to the Iberian Peninsula, where it was once extremely abundant. It is considered the most important prey item for the peninsula's assemblage of Mediterranean vertebrate predators, which includes two endangered specialist rabbit feeders, the Spanish imperial eagle (Aquila adalberti) and the Iberian lynx (Lynx pardinus). However, rabbit population trends in Spain have not been accurately documented. In the present study, we analysed trends in a population of European rabbits monitored over 23 years in the Doñana National Park, home to one of the most diverse and densest predator communities in Europe. Rabbit abundance and population trends were estimated using roadside counts. Results show that the rabbit population declined sharply by ∼60% during the first wave of epizootic rabbit hemorrhagic disease (RHD) in 1990. Since then, rabbit numbers have declined at a relatively constant rate and the species has become progressively scarcer in the area. The current population is less than 10% of that before the arrival of RHD. However, after the RHD epizootic we observed increasing intra-annual population recruitment. We hypothesise that density-dependent factors caused by enzootic viral diseases (myxomatosis, RHD) and higher predation of rabbits are the main factors preventing recovery of rabbit numbers. The effects of a decline in the prey species on the ecology of sympatric rabbit predators are discussed, and measures to improve ongoing rabbit conservation efforts are suggeste

This entity originates from the lymphoid stroma intermixed with parenchyma, being different from papillary hyperplasia, representing approximately 1.9% of tonsillar neoplasms. Objective: To present a case report and systematic review of the pediatric cases published in the literature. The report case: A systematic review was carried out following the PRISMA guidelines of the reports in PubMed, Elsevier, Google Scholar from 2010 to 2021. 18 articles were found of which 8 females and 10 males were found, the mean age was 14 years, in 15 lesions were unilateral. All cases reported the presence of lymphatic vessels in the histopathological exam. Conclusion: There is variability with age with a similar distribution between genders, being rare there is heterogeneity in its denomination.
Objective: To assess the prevalence of illegal drug use in college students on any previous occasion, duringthe previous year and the previous month, and to analyze the relationship between illegal drug use andfamily support and other factors. Methods: A cross-sectional study using data from students participating in the uniHcos project (n = 3767)was conducted. The prevalence and age of onset of consumption of cannabis, non-prescription sedatives, stimulants and depressants was evaluated. Polyconsumption was also assessed. The independent vari-ables were: family support, age, residence, and employment status. To determine the factors related todrug use multivariate logistic regression models stratified by gender were fitted. Results: Differences between men and women in prevalence of illegal drug use except non-prescriptionsedatives were observed. In both genders, less family support was associated with higher consumptionof all drugs, except depressants, and with polyconsumption. To be studying and looking for work wasrelated to cannabis and stimulant use and to polyconsumption among women, but only to cannabis useamong men. Conclusions: These results support the notion that the start of university studies is a particularly relevantstage in the onset of illegal drug use and its prevention, and that consumption may be especially associatedwith family support.
Risk Factors and Predictive Score for Bacteremic Biliary Tract Infections Due to Enterococcus faecalis and Enterococcus faecium: a Multicenter Cohort Study from the PROBAC Project
Biliary-tract bloodstream infections (BT-BSI) caused by Enterococcus faecalis and E. faecium are associated with inappropriate empirical treatment and worse outcomes compared to other etiologies. The objective of this study was to investigate the risk factors for enterococcal BT-BSI. Patients with BT-BSI from the PROBAC cohort, including consecutive patients with BSI in 26 Spanish hospitals between October 2016 and March 2017, were selected; episodes caused by E. faecalis or E. faecium and other causes were compared. Independent predictors for enterococci were identified by logistic regression, and a predictive score was developed. Eight hundred fifty episodes of BT-BSI were included; 73 (8.5%) were due to target Enterococcus spp. (48 [66%] were E. faecium and 25 [34%] E. faecalis). By multivariate analysis, the variables independently associated with Enterococcus spp. were (OR; 95% confidence interval): cholangiocarcinoma (4.48;1.32 to 15.25), hospital acquisition (3.58;2.11 to 6.07), use of carbapenems in the previous month (3.35;1.45 to 7.78), biliary prosthesis (2.19;1.24 to 3.90), and moderate or severe chronic kidney disease (1.55;1.07 to 2.26). The AUC of the model was 0.74 [95% CI0.67 to 0.80]. A score was developed, with 7, 6, 5, 4, and 2 points for these variables, respectively, with a negative predictive value of 95% for a score # 6. A model, including cholangiocarcinoma, biliary prosthesis, hospital acquisition, previous carbapenems, and chronic kidney disease showed moderate prediction ability for enterococcal BT-BSI. Although the score will need to be validated, this information may be useful for deciding empirical therapy in biliary tract infections when bacteremia is suspected. IMPORTANCE Biliary tract infections are frequent, and a significant cause of morbidity and mortality. Bacteremia is common in these infections, particularly in the elderly and patients with cancer. Inappropriate empirical treatment has been associated with increased risk of mortality in bacteremic cholangitis, and the probability of receiving inactive empirical treatment is higher in episodes caused by enterococci. This is because many of the antimicrobial agents recommended in guidelines for biliary tract infections lack activity against these organisms. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first study analyzing the predictive factors for enterococcal BT-BSI and deriving a predictive score.8 página
