Penerapan Strategi Pembelajaran Peningkatan Kemampuan Berfikir Siswa Pada Pembelajaran Teknologi Informasi Dan Komunikasi (Tik)
Nonzero theta_13 signals nonmaximal atmospheric neutrino mixing
From recent groundbreaking experiments, it is now known that the
Pontecorvo-Maki-Nakagawa-Sakata mixing differs significantly from the
tribimaximal model in which theta_13=0 and theta_23=pi/4. Flavor symmetry can
require that the departures from these two equations are linearly related. T'
and A_4, which successfully accommodated the pre-T2K
Pontecorvo-Maki-Nakagawa-Sakata matrix, predict that 38.07 deg.< theta_23
<39.52 deg. at 95% C.L.. The best fit values, combining the model predictions
with T2K, MINOS, Double Chooz, Daya Bay, and RENO data, are theta_23=38.7 deg.
and theta_13=8.9 deg..Comment: 4 pages, 1 figure. Published version Phys. Rev.
Ω-Arithmetization of Ellipses
International audienceMulti-resolution analysis and numerical precision problems are very important subjects in fields like image analysis or geometrical modeling. In the continuation of our previous works, we propose to apply the method of Ω-arithmetization to ellipses. We obtain a discrete multi-resolution representation of arcs of ellipses. The corresponding algorithms are completely constructive and thus, can be exactly translated into functional computer programs. Moreover, we give a global condition for the connectivity of the discrete curves generated by the method at every scale
Probing New Physics Models of Neutrinoless Double Beta Decay with SuperNEMO
The possibility to probe new physics scenarios of light Majorana neutrino
exchange and right-handed currents at the planned next generation neutrinoless
double beta decay experiment SuperNEMO is discussed. Its ability to study
different isotopes and track the outgoing electrons provides the means to
discriminate different underlying mechanisms for the neutrinoless double beta
decay by measuring the decay half-life and the electron angular and energy
distributions.Comment: 17 pages, 14 figures, to be published in E.P.J.
Spectral modeling of scintillator for the NEMO-3 and SuperNEMO detectors
We have constructed a GEANT4-based detailed software model of photon
transport in plastic scintillator blocks and have used it to study the NEMO-3
and SuperNEMO calorimeters employed in experiments designed to search for
neutrinoless double beta decay. We compare our simulations to measurements
using conversion electrons from a calibration source of and show
that the agreement is improved if wavelength-dependent properties of the
calorimeter are taken into account. In this article, we briefly describe our
modeling approach and results of our studies.Comment: 16 pages, 10 figure
Results of the BiPo-1 prototype for radiopurity measurements for the SuperNEMO double beta decay source foils
The development of BiPo detectors is dedicated to the measurement of
extremely high radiopurity in Tl and Bi for the SuperNEMO
double beta decay source foils. A modular prototype, called BiPo-1, with 0.8
of sensitive surface area, has been running in the Modane Underground
Laboratory since February, 2008. The goal of BiPo-1 is to measure the different
components of the background and in particular the surface radiopurity of the
plastic scintillators that make up the detector. The first phase of data
collection has been dedicated to the measurement of the radiopurity in
Tl. After more than one year of background measurement, a surface
activity of the scintillators of (Tl) 1.5
Bq/m is reported here. Given this level of background, a larger BiPo
detector having 12 m of active surface area, is able to qualify the
radiopurity of the SuperNEMO selenium double beta decay foils with the required
sensitivity of (Tl) 2 Bq/kg (90% C.L.) with a six
month measurement.Comment: 24 pages, submitted to N.I.M.
An improved measurement of muon antineutrino disappearance in MINOS
We report an improved measurement of muon anti-neutrino disappearance over a
distance of 735km using the MINOS detectors and the Fermilab Main Injector
neutrino beam in a muon anti-neutrino enhanced configuration. From a total
exposure of 2.95e20 protons on target, of which 42% have not been previously
analyzed, we make the most precise measurement of the anti-neutrino
"atmospheric" delta-m squared = 2.62 +0.31/-0.28 (stat.) +/- 0.09 (syst.) and
constrain the anti-neutrino atmospheric mixing angle >0.75 (90%CL). These
values are in agreement with those measured for muon neutrinos, removing the
tension reported previously.Comment: 5 pages, 4 figures. In submission to Phys.Rev.Let

New constraints on muon-neutrino to electron-neutrino transitions in MINOS
This paper reports results from a search for ν_μ → ν_e transitions by the MINOS experiment based on a 7×10^(20) protons-on-target exposure. Our observation of 54 candidate ν_e events in the far detector with a background of 49.1±7.0(stat)±2.7(syst) events predicted by the measurements in the near detector requires 2sin^2(2θ_(13))sin^2θ_(23)<0.12(0.20) at the 90% C.L. for the normal (inverted) mass hierarchy at δ_(CP)=0. The experiment sets the tightest limits to date on the value of θ_(13) for nearly all values of δ_(CP) for the normal neutrino mass hierarchy and maximal sin^2(2θ_(23))
