This paper analyzes the construction of the eccentricity as a form which stresses the intellectual field of national literatures. From exile and cultural de-territorialization, a piece of Argentine writing from the 60s emerges from canon associated with the boom to define a hybrid environment characterized by subversion that affects not only the language but also the generic and political models. A comparative study of A Universal History of Infamy (1939) by Jorge Luis Borges and The Iconoclasts’ Synagogue (1972) by Juan Rodolfo Wilcock propose the differences that challenge established standards with regard to the role of fiction within historiography of crime in relation to the law and humor as a mechanism of critique that allows questioning the various forms of scientific, historical and aesthetic knowledge.

Social Relations and Methods in Recommender Systems: A Systematic Review

    Get PDF
With the constant growth of information, data sparsity problems, and cold start have become a complex problem in obtaining accurate recommendations. Currently, authors consider the user's historical behavior and find contextual information about the user, such as social relationships, time information, and location. In this work, a systematic review of the literature on recommender systems that use the information on social relationships between users was carried out. As the main findings, social relations were classified into three groups: trust, friend activities, and user interactions. Likewise, the collaborative filtering approach was the most used, and with the best results, considering the methods based on memory and model. The most used metrics that we found, and the recommendation methods studied in mobile applications are presented. The information provided by this study can be valuable to increase the precision of the recommendations

Learning to code is the new literacy of the 21st century. Computational thinking, closely related to programming and coding, requires thinking and solving problems with different levels of abstraction and it is independent of software or hardware devices. This work analyzes the main initiatives related to computer thinking in schools, the use of specific tools, such as robotics kits or educational programming environments, and main teaching-learning strategies used in early childhood education

Social Robots in Hospitals: A Systematic Review

Hospital environments are facing new challenges this century. One of the most important is the quality of services to patients. Social robots are gaining prominence due to the advantages they offer; in particular, several of their main uses have proven beneficial during the pandemic. This study aims to shed light on the current status of the design of social robots and their interaction with patients. To this end, a systematic review was conducted using WoS and MEDLINE, and the results were exhaustive analyzed. The authors found that most of the initiatives and projects serve the el- derly and children, and specifically, that they helped these groups fight diseases such as dementia, autism spectrum disorder (ASD), cancer, and diabetes

Exploring the Benefits of Using Gamification and Videogames for Physical Exercise: a Review of State of Art

    Get PDF
There is a lack of motivation in children and adolescents to do physical exercise and at the same time a worldwide obesity epidemic. Gamification and active videogames can be used to increase the motivation of young people, promoting healthy habits. In this work we explore different studies on active videogames, eSports and gamification applied to physical exercise and health promotion. Main findings include positive effects in a reduction in body weight and in the promotion to continue performing of physical exercise. It also contributes to increase the motivation in children and adolescents to practice exercise. The personalization of user experience and emerging technologies (big data, wearables, smart technologies, etc.) are presented as promising opportunities to keep the engagement in game-based program and gamification of physical exercise

On causality between sucessful internationalization and profitability: The case of the moderating effect of earliness in new ventures

Objectives: We aim to explore whether the earliness of internationalization can change the direction of causality in the binomial internationalization-profitability. Theoretical Framework: The main theoretical explanation lies at the speed of the learning advantages of newness to address the contingent uncertainty of the (lack) of knowledge of the new international market, combining the Uppsala-Model and the International Entrepreneurship theories. Method: We performed a multigroup analysis using the most up-to-date technique among the available structural equation cross-lagged models for testing causality under the impulse-response approach. This enables the investigation of the long-term rather than the short-term Granger- Sims’ causal effects in a longitudinal data set of 1,258 new ventures over five years after the first international market entry. Results/Implications: Earliness of internationalization can be a key to understand both the sign and the direction of causality and its persistence over time. We augment the Uppsala Model with the causality of these relationships. For practitioners, they should know that the organizational time to go international can be a source of only temporary but not persistent advantages for early entrants.N/
