Héroes y Demonios. Los jóvenes del Frente Nacionalista Patria y Libertad en el Chile de la Unidad Popular (1970-1973)

En este trabajo se analiza el rol que jugó un grupo de jóvenes de extrema derecha nacionalista que confluyeron en la formación del Frente Nacionalista Patria y Libertad en la configuración del movimiento antiallendista. Mediante el uso de la violencia buscó combatir al gobierno de la Unidad Popular, convirtiéndose en el paradigma del antiliberalismo, anticomunismo y nacionalismo. Preconizó la instauración de una democracia funcional, que asegurara el desempeño “armónico” de las relaciones de producción, en rechazo al capitalismo y marxismo. Nuestro objetivo es abordar qué rol jugó en la configuración del movimiento antiallendista, cuál fue su forma de organización y proyecto político.This paper analyses the role played by a group of young right-wing nationalist, called Frente Nacionalista Patria y Libertad in the social movement against Allende. By violence sought to combat the Popular Unity government, becoming in the paradigm of anti-liberalism, anticommunism and authoritarian order. This group was in favour corporatism, functional democracy, which ensures the harmonious relations of production, besides it, rejected capitalism and Marxism. Three-dimensional instability in flow over a backward-facing step

Results are reported from a three-dimensional computational stability analysis of flow over a backward-facing step with an expansion ratio (outlet to inlet height) of 2 at Reynolds numbers between 450 and 1050. The analysis shows that the first absolute linear instability of the steady two-dimensional flow is a steady three-dimensional bifurcation at a critical Reynolds number of 748. The critical eigenmode is localized to the primary separation bubble and has a flat roll structure with a spanwise wavelength of 6.9 step heights. The system is further shown to be absolutely stable to two-dimensional perturbations up to a Reynolds number of 1500. Stability spectra and visualizations of the global modes of the system are presented for representative Reynolds numbers

The anticommunism of the Chilean Juventude Conservadora: the case of the Falange Nacional (1935-1957)

El trayecto de la Juventud Conservadora a la Falange Nacional expresó una ruptura radical con el proyecto político de uno de los partidos de la derecha tradicional, el Partido Conservador (1851). Inspirado en la doctrina del humanismo cristiano, el proyecto falangista se sintetizó en el Partido Demócrata Cristiano (1957). En este artículo se analizan cuáles han sido las percepciones de los falangistas sobre el comunismo, así como la importancia adjudicada al Partido Comunista como actor legitimo del sistema de partidos.A trajetória da Juventude Conservadora para a Falange Nacional expressou uma ruptura radical com o projeto político de um dos partidos da direita tradicional, o Partido Conservador (1851). Inspirado na doutrina do humanismo cristão, o projeto falangista se sintetizou no Partido Democrata Cristão (1957). Neste artigo se analisam quais foram as percepções dos falangistas sobre o comunismo e a importância atribuída ao Partido Comunista como um ator legítimo do sistema partidário.The trajectory of the Juventude Conservadora (Conservative Youth) in the Falange Nacional (National Phalanx) showed a radical break with the political project of one of the parties of the traditional right, the Partido Conservador (Conservative Party, 1851). Inspired by the doctrine of Christian humanism, the Phalangist project became the Partido Democrata Cristão (Christian Democratic Party, 1957). Asistencialismo, desarrollo y municipio: las bases sociales de la dictadura chilena

El objetivo de este artículo es analizar la dimensión propositiva de la dictadura que llevó adelante el General Augusto Pinochet en Chile (1973-1988) sin contemplar los aspectos represivos que han sido más atendidos por la literatura. Se intentará demostrar que la dictadura no se limitó a la exclusión y despolitización de los sectores populares, sino que buscó reeducar, resociabilizar y reorganizar al mundo popular. Aquí las ideas corporativistas, presentes en diversas políticas públicas, legitimaron un “nuevo orden” político y administrativo centrado en los municipios.The objective of this article is to analyze the proposal aspects of the General Augusto Pinochet´s dictatorship (1973-1988), disregarding their repressive features, which have been more systematically studied. It`s tried to demonstrate that regime was not confined to exclusion and depoliticization of the popular sectors, but sought to reeducate and reorganize them. The Impact of Burnout on Police Officers’ Performance and Turnover Intention: The Moderating Role of Compassion Satisfaction

Ethical review and approval were not required for the study on participants in this survey in accordance with the local legislation and institutional requirements.Burnout should be seen as an important phenomenon influencing the services provided by police forces, due to its high exposure to stressful events. The study sought to examine the impact of burnout on performance and turnover intention of Portuguese police forces, as well as to analyze the moderating effect of compassion satisfaction (CS) on this relationship. Data were collected in 2021 from 1.682 Portuguese police officers, using individual surveys. The results showed that (1) burnout is negatively related to performance; (2) burnout is positively related to turnover intention; (3) CS, although it has a positive effect on performance, does not assume a moderating role, as expected, in the relationship between burnout and performance; (4) CS assumes a moderating role in the relationship between burnout and turnover intention. That is, when a person who still suffers from burnout feels CS, it decreases the intention to leave the organization. The implications and the bearings of this study are discussed and presented regarding the theoretical, empirical and practical perspectives in order to better support both the comprehension of burnout in police officers and offer the best practical recommendations.info:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersio

The other radicalised youth: anti-communism in Argentina and Chile (1959-1973)

A imagem dominante sobre os anos sessenta no Cone Sul faz referência aos processos de insubordinação social desenvolvidos por setores da população rural, trabalhadores urbanos e jovens de ambos os sexos, desencantados com a política formal e desejosos de promover mudanças sociais profundas. Entretanto, é possível identificar outra série de atores que também recorreram a um repertório de ações políticas de forte impacto público, mas sediados em uma coordenada ideológica completamente diversa. Este artigo revisa algumas das práticas e discursos de grupos de jovens incorporados às organizações de direita radical na Argentina e no Chile entre 1959 e 1973. Concentra-se no Movimiento gremialista, na juventude do Partido Nacional, na Frente Nacionalista Patria y Libertad (do Chile), no Movimiento Nacionalista Tacuara e na juventude da Federación Argentina de Entidades Democráticas Anticomunistas (da Argentina). Esta pesquisa comparativa consultou distintas fontes: imprensa comercial, jornais partidários e relatórios de órgãos de inteligência policial.The sixties in the Southern Cone are widely known as the years of the social upheaval of a part of the rural population, urban workers and boys and girls, who were disappointed with formal politics and were committed and willing to promote deep social changes. However, it is possible to identify in that time actors who have resorted to the same repertoire of political actions with huge social impact, but were situated in a completely opposite ideological position. This paper intends to review some of the activities and discourses of young men recruited by radical right organisations in Argentina and Chile between 1959 and 1973. Our attention is focused on the “Movimiento Gremialista” and the youth sections of the Partido Nacional and the Frente Nacionalista Patria y Libertad (all of them from Chile) and the Movimiento Nacionalista Tacuara and the youngsters involved in the Federación Argentina de Entidades Democráticas Anticomunistas (Argentina). “Hurt right down the middle, but alive and well”: African American Gothic Elements in Toni Morrison’s Home

Toni Morrison’s Home presents the story of two siblings who return to their hometown of Lotus, Georgia, after facing several traumatic episodes throughout their lives. This article aims to observe and analyze the gothic elements presented in the novel—particularly those related to Ycidra’s tale. Those elements are discussed especially in their relation to the Gothic subgenre that Maisha Wester calls African American Gothic. Methodological procedures include a brief overview of the African American Gothic and an analysis and discussion of gothic themes in Home. The results show that Morrison employs and subverts some Anglo American gothic tropes in order to contest and critique the identities imposed upon black people by white gothic writers, thus offering an important revision of the genre

Valoraciones y prejuicios sobre La asombrosa excursión de Zamba

Este artículo analiza la serie animada infantil La asombrosa excursión de Zamba, a partir de sus diálogos e imágenes. Nuestra hipótesis es que dicha serie infantil permitió “profanar” a la historia académica, permitiendo un nuevo uso y acercarla al público infantil. Siguiendo los términos de Friedrich Nietzsche, consideramos que la serie transita por una doble senda entre la historia monumental y la anticuaria, ya que ofrece una visión de la Historia muy ligada al valor de los “grandes héroes nacionales” a la vez que reproduce ciertos mitos de la historia argentina.This article analyzes the children´s animated television series La asombrosa excursión de Zamba, from their dialogues and images. Our hypothesis is that animated series allowed „desecrating‟ scholar history and bring it to children´s public. Following Friedrich Nietzsche´s terms, we consider that the children´s series goes through a double track between monumental and antiquarian history, offering a view of history close the “great national heroes” and reproduce certain myths Argentina´s history.Facultad de Humanidades y Ciencias de la Educació
