Training as A Growth Strategy for Trade SMEs in The Veracruz-Boca Del Río Conurbated Area

This research shows, based on the statistics, that the main entities that generate employment are small and medium-sized enterprises; the survey of the National Institute of Statistics and Geography (INEGI) serves as sustenance added to those generated by the National Micro-business Survey (ENAMIN ). In the context of training, the results of this study reflect that training for workers is not a priority. Consequently, they do not have it, even though it is regulated as a worker's right by the Ley Federal del Trabajo and an obligation for the business sector. The result shows the companies' conformity with the duality of the benefit of training since this fundamental part that could allow them to achieve greater competitiveness in the market is not found in their planning

Sequential Gaussian Simulation of uranium spatial distribution : a transboundary watershed case study

Este artigo deriva de uma comunicação apresentada em International workshop “Uranium, Environment and Public Health”, UrEnv 2013.The main purpose of this work is the uranium spatial distribution patterns in groundwater, within the Águeda river transboundary watershed (Portugal-Spain). Mineral resources occur distributed throughout the watershed, mainly sulphide and uranium minerals. Sixty-five groundwater samples were analyzed. Geostatistical modeling was used, throughout conventional variography and Sequential Gaussian Simulation algorithm, to model the groundwater uranium spatial distribution. A hundred simulations, differing in their initial random-number seed, were performed. Spatial uncertainty evaluation allowed the definition of future monitoring and sampling strategies as well as the measurement of remediation possibilities. Uranium hot spots are strongly embedded in the central area (Ciudad Rodrigo)

Does d-cycloserine facilitate the effects of homework compliance on social anxiety symptom reduction?

BACKGROUND: Prior studies examining the effect of d-cycloserine (DCS) on homework compliance and outcome in cognitive-behavior therapy (CBT) have yielded mixed results. The aim of this study was to investigate whether DCS facilitates the effects of homework compliance on symptom reduction in a large-scale study for social anxiety disorder (SAD). METHODS: 169 participants with generalized SAD received DCS or pill placebo during 12-session exposure-based group CBT. Improvements in social anxiety were assessed by independent raters at each session using the Liebowitz social anxiety scale (LSAS). RESULTS: Controlling for LSAS at the previous session, and irrespective of treatment condition, greater homework compliance in the week prior related to lower LSAS at the next session. However, DCS did not moderate the effect of homework compliance and LSAS, LSAS on homework compliance, or the overall augmenting effect of DCS on homework compliance. Furthermore, LSAS levels were not predictive of homework compliance in the following week. CONCLUSION: The findings support the general benefits of homework compliance on outcome, but not a DCS-augmenting effect. The comparably small number of DCS-enhanced sessions in this study could be one reason for the failure to find a facilitating effect of DCS

This study aims to understand how and to what extent internationalisation processes (IP) affect Management Accounting and Control Systems (MACS), and how the latter contribute to the successful implementation of IP. A conceptual framework is developed from MACS research to highlight how the use and characteristics of accounting information influence the development of IP. Critical incident technique is used as a qualitative approach to understand the IP-MACS relationship. The findings suggest that the existence of MACS adjusted to the firm’s information needs can facilitate IP, providing crucial information, and leading to changes in some accounting tools. This study demonstrates an active (use) and passive (design) role for MACS and provides a first attempt to explore the IP-MACS relationship and its contribution to a successful IP.
