Dynamic transcranial Doppler assessment in Heart Failure patients
A hemodinâmica cerebrovascular poderá ter um papel importante na abordagem adequada aos doentes com IC.Heart failure (HF) is a prevalent disease but few is understood in its repercussion in cerebral hemodynamics mechanisms and cognitive decline. We monitored cerebral blood flow velocity (CBFV) with transcranial Doppler in HF patients and healthy controls. Cerebral autoregulation (CA) was assessed by transfer function from the spontaneous oscillations of blood pressure to CBFV and vasoreactivity (VR) with inhalation of CO2 at 5% and hyperventilation. MoCA was measured and associated with each cerebrovascular regulatory component. No differences were detected in VR. HF patients showed a better CA response. (Middle cerebral artery (MCA): very low frequency (VLF) gain 0.47±0.15 vs 0.88±0.19 %/mmHg, p=0.001; low frequency (LF) gain 0.60±0.23 vs 1.28±0.05 %/mmHg, p=0.000; VLF phase 2.05±0.59 vs 1.12±0.12 radians, p=0.021; Posterior cerebral artery (PCA): VLF gain 0.47±0.25 vs 1.11±0.24 %/mmHg, p=0.000; LF gain 0.66±0.32 vs 1.83±0.45 %/mmHg, p=0.000). None of the cerebrovascular parameters correlated significantly with MoCA score. Cerebrovascular hemodynamics could have a major role in the proper management of HF patients
Entrepreneurial orientation, market orientation and performance of teachers and researchers in higher education institutions
Higher Education has been the focus of significant growth in the last decades. In this context,
the educational market has undergone some changes and competition among Institutions of
Higher Education worldwide was established. Particularly, in Europe, there have been
profound changes in the way education has been provided for by Higher Education Institutions
(HEIs), according to Bologna process, allowing students to move freely between European
Institutions of higher education. Also, the decreasing trends of the students’ population and
the increasing budgetary constraints, made the environment of these institutions highly
turbulent. The changing context of higher education and its confrontation with market forces
are exerting intense pressures (internal and external pressures) on the management of these
institutions. The need for dynamic and innovative skills and the importance of resources and
individuals in pursuit of new opportunities proves to be extremely vital for HEIs.
Something essential in HEIs, is seeking to be entrepreneurial, with human resources with
entrepreneurial characteristics. The employees of the organisation contribute to various
information about the market that can create competitive advantages. Thus, the
understanding of how employees define and see the behaviour of market orientation is the
successful key to promote a market orientation. Nowadays, the companies realize that their
most important asset is the employee, particularly employees who are responsible for
standards of quality, value and customer satisfaction.
The entrepreneurial orientation is a concept that has been developed and studied in the
entrepreneurship research field, where many studies relate it to market orientation and
performance. However, most studies focus on the organisation. In this study we intend to
study the relationships at the individual level. Therefore we propose the concept of individual
entrepreneurial orientation (IEO) and a measurement scale, and we use the individual market
orientation concept (IMO), measured with I-MARKOR.
The major objective of this study is to analyse the relationship between IEO, IMO and the
Performance of Teachers and Researchers of HEIs. The dimensions proposed by Xiaowei
(2006), were used in this study, in the performance construct, because we find them to be
the best to relate to the dimensions of EO and MO.
Our study population are Teachers and Researchers from Universities, Polytechnics,
Specialized Schools or Colleges, public or private institutions, from Europe, North America
(USA) and South America (Brazil). The sample is composed of 1 773 individuals (teachers and
researchers from HEIs), 1338 from 37 European countries (212 from Portugal) and 435 from America (206 from Brazil and 229 from USA), and data collection was conducted through a
questionnaire sent by e-mail.
According to the research objectives and the nature of the test data, were used: descriptive
statistics that characterize the data; statistical techniques to test, debug and validate
measuring instruments, emphasizing the confirmatory factor analysis (CFA), Pearson's
correlations and Cronbach's alphas, among other measures; and techniques that will allow
testing of research hypotheses, as the structural equation models analysis (SEMA).
We conclude that in HEIs, at least in the studied population, the higher the degree of
individual entrepreneurial orientation, the greater the degree of individual market
orientation of Teachers and Researchers; the IMO has a positive impact on performance; and
the higher the degree of individual entrepreneurial orientation, the greater the performance
of Teachers and Researchers. We recommend that Teachers and Researchers adopt and invest
in entrepreneurial and market orientation practices, that enhance better performances and,
consequently, higher quality, value and customer satisfaction. Finally, we can say that the
success of an HEI also depends on the performance of its human resources, in particular of its
Teachers and Researchers.
Of this study we highlight the adaptation of the measurement scales of the constructs IOE and
IOM, in particular the I-ENTRE-U, and the study of relations between OE, OM and
Performance, but at the individual level, something that had still not been done, because
most studies, so far, are concentrated in the organisation
Entrepreneurial Orientation, Market Orientation and Performance of Teachers and Researchers in Public Higher Education Institutions.
In this study we intend to analyse the relationships between entrepreneurial orientation, market orientation and performance at the individual level. We propose the concept of individual entrepreneurial orientation (IEO) and a measurement scale, and we use the individual market orientation concept (IMO), measured with i-MARKOR.
The main objective is to analyse the relationship between IEO, IMO and performance of teachers and researchers of the public higher education institutions (PHEI). A conceptual model is proposed representing the relationship between these variables. The results of this research can be highly useful in understanding the interaction between the analysed variables and their impact on the PHEI.PEst-OE/EGE/UI4056/201
emissoras brasileira e angolana.
identificamos quatro: aumentar e melhorar o acesso à transparência nas páginas das emissoras;
This research aims to evaluate how indigenous languages are treated in the context of the
communication in public broadcasters in Brazil and Angola, through a comparative study, and
how the indigenous peoples are represented in the broadcasters. With this, it aims to identify
how the representations of indigenous languages are given in the programming grid of these
vehicles and reflects on the importance of these stations in the achievement of human and social
rights. In this sense, the work focused on the quantitative analysis of the programming and
qualitative grid of the organizational structure of the Angolan and Brazilian public broadcasters,
using indicators of quality of public broadcasting pointed out by UNESCO (BUCCI et al, 2012).
three steps: 1) Survey of indigenous population data on public broadcasters in both countries;
2) Semi-open interview with the managers of these stations; 3) Quantitative analysis of the
programming grid of the stations. The qualitative-qualitative analysis was carried out by
visualizing the contents found by searching for the keywords "indio", "indigenous",
"indigenous culture" and "indigenous populations" on the respective pages of the stations,
considering the period from 2013 to 2017. We observed the contents related to the indigenous
populations produced by the Brazilian and Angolan broadcasters. We also see four trends that
permeate plural quality programming: regionalization, specialization, the promotion of debates
that encourage multiplicity of voices and the production of content by ethnicities to which that
content is intended. In the field of challenges, with regard to Brazil, we identified four: increase
and improve access to transparency on the pages of broadcasters; produce more content
targeting indigenous populations; create spaces for the representation of indigenous people in
the staff of the broadcasters; implement public communication policies that guarantee the
continuity of programming
As a Master of Anthropology - Visual Cultures, Faculty of Social and Human Sciences - Universidade Nova de Lisboa, the traineeship I have developed responds to the challenge presented to me by the management of the Sporting Museum to create a Memory Center within the framework of its project of valorization and interconnection of the material and immaterial heritage of Sporting Clube de Portugal and its wide community of athletes, members and fans spread all over the world. Based on the collection of testimonies - audiovisual register - we have proposed to address, through memory, the processes of identity building and representation, themes related to the club and its cultural heritage - material and intangible - sporting identity, its symbols, experiences and ritualizations, the ways of telling and transmitting feelings. In order to delimit the study object - its field of application - and in a timely manner to describe the operative chain, from collection to construction and presentation of a coherent narrative in museological context, we focus on the practical case of the temporary exhibition A Luck gives a lot of work on the teacher Mário Moniz Pereira. For this, the testimonies of ex-athletes, friends and family contributed to the "Lord Athletics", the great promoter and coach of the sport in Portugal and abroad. A life dedicated to sport, Sporting and Portugal. An odd figure, far beyond his time
Sustainability and environmental preservation currently play a prominent role in the marketing and communication strategies developed by various sectors of activity, with the automotive industry being one of the most committed to green advertising directed towards consumers. The strong commitment to green advertising has transformed the automotive industry, leading it to focus on the commercialization of sustainable products with significant reduction in emissions, with the electric car standing out among these products. Through this study, we seek to understand whether the automotive industry's green advertising strategies are shaping consumer purchasing intentions and whether their sustainable attitudes/behaviors and environmental awareness have any influence on this relationship. Based on a quantitative study and a sample of 221 respondents, the hypotheses formulated in the research model were tested using Simple Linear Regression models and Macro Process v4.2. Cronbach alpha and Pearson correlation coefficient were also used in this study in order to evaluate the internal consistency of the scales used in the questionnaire and whether they are statistically significant. In this model, "Green advertising/ communication" was considered the independent variable, " Electric car purchase intention" as the dependent variable, and "Sustainable attitudes/behaviors and environmental awareness" as the moderating variable. After analyzing the results, a discussion is also developed, comparing them to the existing literature, concluding the research with the identified limitations, its theoretical and practical contributions, and recommendations for future research
notificados no mundo.
