Enquanto Mestrando do curso de Antropologia – Culturas Visuais, da Faculdade Ciências Sociais e Humanos – Universidade Nova de Lisboa, o trabalho de estágio por mim desenvolvido responde ao desafio que me foi proposto pela direcção do Museu Sporting de criar um Centro de Memórias no âmbito do seu projecto de valorização e interligação do património material e imaterial do Sporting Clube de Portugal e da sua ampla comunidade de desportistas, sócios e adeptos espalhados por todo o mundo.
Tendo por base a recolha de testemunhos – registo audiovisual – propusemo-nos abordar, com recurso à memória, os processos de construção identitária e representação, temáticas relacionadas com o clube e o seu património cultural – material e imaterial – a identidade sportinguista, os seus símbolos, vivências e ritualizações, as formas de contar e transmitir sentimentos.
De forma a delimitar o objecto de estudo - o seu campo de aplicação - e conseguir em tempo útil descrever a cadeia operatória, desde a recolha à construção e apresentação de uma narrativa coerente em contexto museológico, focamo-nos ao caso prático da exposição temporária A sorte dá muito trabalho sobre o professor Mário Moniz Pereira. Para esta contribuíram as recolhas de testemunhos de ex-atletas, amigos e família, sobre o “Senhor Atletismo”, o grande impulsionador e treinador da modalidade em Portugal e no estrangeiro. Uma vida dedicada ao desporto, ao Sporting e a Portugal. Uma figura ímpar, muito além do seu tempo.As a Master of Anthropology - Visual Cultures, Faculty of Social and Human Sciences - Universidade Nova de Lisboa, the traineeship I have developed responds to the challenge presented to me by the management of the Sporting Museum to create a Memory Center within the framework of its project of valorization and interconnection of the material and immaterial heritage of Sporting Clube de Portugal and its wide community of athletes, members and fans spread all over the world. Based on the collection of testimonies - audiovisual register - we have proposed to address, through memory, the processes of identity building and representation, themes related to the club and its cultural heritage - material and intangible - sporting identity, its symbols, experiences and ritualizations, the ways of telling and transmitting feelings. In order to delimit the study object - its field of application - and in a timely manner to describe the operative chain, from collection to construction and presentation of a coherent narrative in museological context, we focus on the practical case of the temporary exhibition A Luck gives a lot of work on the teacher Mário Moniz Pereira. For this, the testimonies of ex-athletes, friends and family contributed to the "Lord Athletics", the great promoter and coach of the sport in Portugal and abroad.
