On decision and optimization (k,l)-graph sandwich problems

AbstractA graph G is (k,l) if its vertex set can be partitioned into at most k independent sets and l cliques. The (k,l)-Graph Sandwich Problem asks, given two graphs G1=(V,E1) and G2=(V,E2), whether there exists a graph G=(V,E) such that E1⊆E⊆E2 and G is (k,l). In this paper, we prove that the (k,l)-Graph Sandwich Problem is NP-complete for the cases k=1 and l=2; k=2 and l=1; or k=l=2. This completely classifies the complexity of the (k,l)-Graph Sandwich Problem as follows: the problem is NP-complete, if k+l>2; the problem is polynomial otherwise. We consider the degree Δ constraint subproblem and completely classify the problem as follows: the problem is polynomial, for k⩽2 or Δ⩽3; the problem is NP-complete otherwise. In addition, we propose two optimization versions of graph sandwich problem for a property Π: MAX-Π-GSP and MIN-Π-GSP. We prove that MIN-(2,1)-GSP is a Max-SNP-hard problem, i.e., there is a positive constant ε, such that the existence of an ε-approximative algorithm for MIN-(2,1)-GSP implies P=NP

Inteligência emocional e comportamento organizacional

Esta monografia partiu do pressuposto de que as organizações tem adotado novos critérios de avaliação do indivíduo. Já não é mais importante só o quanto somos inteligentes intelectualmente, nem a formação ou o grau de especialização do ser humano, mas principalmente o modo como lidam com si próprio e com o próximo. Teve como objetivo geral demonstrar a importância da inteligência emocional no comportamento organizacional. Iniciou conceituando a inteligência emocional, apresentando suas características, suas aptidões, apresentou-se alguns elementos do comportamento organizacional como a liderança, motivação e conflitos, e relacionou-se os conceitos. A metodologia adotada foi à bibliográfica com base em autores diversos. Por fim, conclui-se que o desenvolvimento das aptidões da inteligência emocional pode alcançar uma significante contribuição no campo coletivo e individual podendo assim, o indivíduo desenvolver e melhorar seu comportamento no ambiente de trabalho, motivando-se e tornando-se um líder cada vez mais capacitado, evitando e solucionando conflitos

Relatório de estágio da intervenção pedagógica na EB1/PE da Nazaré, EB1/PE da Ladeira e na EB1/PE da Lombada

A elaboração deste Relatório de Estágio surge na necessidade da reflexão e do cumprimento dos requisitos formais fundamentais para a obtenção do grau de Mestre em Educação Pré-Escolar e Ensino do 1º Ciclo, pela Universidade da Madeira. Este documento apresenta-se como a fase final, em que culmina a atividade pedagógica por mim desenvolvida nas três unidades curriculares de Prática Pedagógica, tanto em Educação Pré-Escolar como no Ensino do 1.º Ciclo do Ensino Básico. As referidas ações pedagógicas realizaram-se, no caso da educação Pré-Escolar, na Escola Básica com Pré-Escolar da Nazaré, mais concretamente no Anexo da Azinhaga da Escola da Nazaré, com um grupo de crianças entre os 4 e os 6 anos; e no caso do 1º ciclo, o primeiro estágio teve lugar na Escola Básica com Pré-Escolar da Ladeira, com uma turma de 3º ano, e o último na Escola Básica com Pré-Escolar da Lombada, com uma turma de 1º e 2º ano. O presente relatório retrata situações em contexto educativo, bem como experiências e atividades desenvolvidas no decorrer da minha prática pedagógica. Neste seguimento, este trabalho encontra-se dividido em duas partes fundamentais. Numa primeira fração são referidas todo um conjunto de temáticas e fundamentações teóricas que suportaram a prática numa abordagem centrada na criança. A segunda fração deste relatório de estágio dedica-se, portanto, à descrição do processo prático de intervenção nos contextos educativos supracitados. É apresentada uma abordagem centrada na aprendizagem significativa e ativa da criança, através do reconhecimento da inteligência emocional ao serviço da interajuda, cooperação e da diferenciação, com recurso ao jogo e ao ensino experimental, com o objetivo da promoção do bem-estar e da colmatação das necessidades de cada aluno. As práticas pedagógicas descritas neste relatório foram orientadas através do levantamento de problemáticas desenvolvidas através de projetos de investigação-ação adaptados às especificidades de cada grupo. Assim, através da definição de questões problema, foram colocadas em prática diferentes estratégias. Pode dizer-se que os resultados foram promissores apesar de a duração no tempo ter sido curta. Na verdade, é importante reconhecer o papel do professor/ educador reflexivo na identificação de problemáticas e dinâmicas, tendo este o poder de atuar sobre elas de forma positiva.The construction of this Internship Report arises from the need to reflect on and fulfill the basic formal requirements for obtaining the Master's Degree in Pre-School Education and 1st Cycle Teaching by the University of Madeira. This document is therefore the final phase of the pedagogical activity developed by me in three curricular units of Pedagogical Practice, both in pre-school education (corresponding to one pedagogical practice - I) and in the Teaching of the 1st Cycle of Basic Education (which corresponded to two pedagogical practices - II and III). In the case of pre-school education, these pedagogical actions were carried out in the Basic School with Pre-School of Nazaré, specifically in the annex of the Azinhaga, with a group of children between 4 and 6 years; and in the case of the first cycle, the first internship took place in the Basic School with PreSchool of Ladeira, with a 3rd grade class, and the last in the Basic School with Pre-School of Lombada with a class of 1st / 2nd grade.This report presents situations in the educational context, experiences and activities developed by me during all pedagogical practices. This work is divided into two fundamental parts. In a first fraction, there’s the reference to a whole set of themes and theoretical foundations that support the practice, in a child-centered approach. The second part of this internship report is devoted to the description of the practical process of intervention in the educational contexts mentioned above. An approach focused on the meaningful and active learning of the child is presented, through the recognition of emotional intelligence at the service of inter-help, cooperation and differentiation, using educational games and experimental teaching, with the objective of promoting well-being and sealing of the needs of each student. The pedagogical practices described in this report were oriented through the observation of problems, developed through action research projects adapted to the specificities of each group. Through the definition of problem issues, different strategies were put into practice. It can be said that the results were promising even though the duration in time was short. What is important is always to consider the role of the reflective teacher / educator, which allows him to identify problems and dynamics, giving him the power to act in the educational environment in a positive way

A industria ceramica de Pedreira e seus impactos ambientais : subsidios para uma gestão ambiental publica

A ausência de um planejamento ambiental sobre o desenvolvimento da atividade, resultou em impactos ambientais significativos e este fato tem preocupado tanto o poder público quanto privado. Nesse trabalho foram identificados os principais impactos ambientais causados pela indústria cerâmica de Pedreira e propostos programas para a implantação de um gerenciamento ambiental público na cidade. O estudo foi realizado no ambiente produtivo de uma amostra de cerâmicas através da observação dos processos além de entrevistas aplicadas à empresários, celamistas e a colaboração da Prefeitura Municipal de Pedreira. Os dados coletados demonstraram que o desempenho ambiental não é satisfatório, visto que nenhuma das cerâmicas da amostra possui uma política ambiental para gerir seus impactos, portanto, ao criar uma política ambiental, adequada às características sócio-econômica-ambientais do município, o poder público, otimizará as relações entre comunidade e sociedade, o que resultará em verdadeiros benefícios para as futuras geraçõesAbstract: The social economic growth of Pedreira town has been benefitted by the ceramics industry since 1914. The lack of an environrnent planning about the development of the working resulted in significant environrnent impacts and this fact has worried private and public admistration. This work identified the main environrnent impacts caused by the ceramics industry in Pedreira an it propose programmes to implant a public environrnent management in the town. The study was carried out in the productive surroundings of a ceramics sample throughout observation of the methods and interviews to managers, workers and the colaboration of the public administration of Pedreira. Androgenic switch in barley microspores

Barley androgenesis represents an attractive system to study stress-induced cell differentiation and is a valuable tool for efficient plant breeding. The switch from the pollen developmental pathway towards an androgenic route involves several well-described morphological changes. However, little is known about the pathways leading to embryo formation and about the transcriptome of androgenic microspores. The research described in this thesis aimed to identify new "bio-markers" for barley androgenesis induction and embryo development. The concept of a "bio-marker" is not a single gene, protein, metabolite or phenotype. It refers to the concept of understanding biological events, such as gene expression profiles or morphological changes at certain biological states. The work presented in this thesis has provided a substantial contribution towards understanding the mechanisms of androgenesis induction.The use of a cell tracking system in combination with biochemical markers has been crucial in pointing out that the morphology of embryogenic microspores, and in identifying programmed cell death as an integral part of the developmental pathway of androgenic embryos. In addition, the markers identified in this thesis by cDNA array and 14-3-3 expression analyses represent useful tools for further analysis of stress-induced androgenesis and pattern formation in androgenic embryos. Understanding the role of these markers, as well as the role of programmed cell death during exine wall rupture and subsequent pattern formation represents a future challenge for the improvement of quality and yield of androgenic embryos.UBL - phd migration 201

Observatório de Conflitos Urbanos de Curitiba: metodologia e categorias de análise

Urban conflicts, as an expression of social conflict, are significant phenomena and represent a prominent object for reflection on social dynamics and relations. The aim of this paper is to present categories and methodology that help to broaden knowledge on urban social struggles and their insertion into the most general range of social conflict based on the experience of building research instruments and theoretical contributions that contribute to the Curitiba Observatory of Urban Conflict. The global analysis of the 707 documented protests delivers elements with which to assess the theoretical-methodological potential of the proposal, thereby indicating that the protests, in different ways, have triggered demands for the qualification (improvements in infrastructure and services), appropriation (recognition of uses) and transformation (modification in production processes) of urban spaces.Os conflitos urbanos, como expressão da conflitualidade social, são fenômenos importantes e objeto destacado para a reflexão sobre as dinâmicas e relações sociais. A proposta deste trabalho é apresentar categorias e metodologia que contribuam para aprofundar o conhecimento sobre as lutas sociais urbanas e sua inserção na dinâmica mais geral da conflitualidade social, com base na experiência de construção de instrumentos de pesquisa e aportes teóricos que subsidiam o Observatório de Conflitos Urbanos de Curitiba.
