    Norms are used in open Multi-Agent Systems as a formal specification of deontic statements aimed at regulating the actions of agents and the interactions among them. In this paper, we propose a set of services facilitating the development of both non-normative and normative agents for norm-governed MAS. Specifically, we propose to provide agents with norm reasoning services. These services will help agent designers/developers to programme agents that consider norm reasoning without having to implement the needed mechanisms to reason about norms by themselves. This article shows how these services perform as well as the results of the experiments that we conducted to evaluate their performance

    Walls, bubbles and doom — the cosmology of HEFT

    As experiment charts new territory at the electroweak scale, the enterprise to characterise all possible theories becomes all the more necessary. In the absence of new particles, this ambitious enterprise is attainable and has led to the Higgs Effective Field Theory (HEFT) as the most general characterising framework, containing the Standard Model Effective Field Theory (SMEFT) as a subspace. The characterisation of this theory space led to the dichotomy SMEFT vs. HEFT SMEFT as the two possible realisations of symmetry breaking. The criterion to distinguish these two possibilities is non-local in field space, and phenomena which explore field space beyond the neighbourhood of the vacuum manifold are in a singular position to tell them apart. Cosmology allows for such phenomena, and this work focuses on HEFT SMEFT, the less explored of the two options, to find that first order phase transitions with detectable gravitational wave remnants, domain wall formation and vacuum decay in the far, far distant future can take place and single out HEFT SMEFT. Results in cosmology are put against LHC constraints, and the potential of future ground- and space-based experiments to cover parameter space is discussed

    XLV Reunión Científica de la SEEP (Sesión: Producción Vegetal)Se realiza un estudio comparativo de 26 variedades registradas de alfalfa (Medicago sativa L.), cultivadas en regadío en la provincia de Salamanca, evaluando la producción y contenido de proteína bruta. El primer año del experimento se realizaron cuatro cortes, siendo la producción en el primer corte significativamente más baja que en el resto. La producción total anual oscila entre 8160 kg ha-1 en la variedad “Baraka” y 10109 kg ha-1 en “Bar MS 82439”, con un valor medio sobre todas las variedades de 9370 kg ha-1. El contenido de proteína bruta oscila entre 19,30% en la variedad “Almar” y 23,47% en la variedad “Aragón”.{ENG}Dry matter production and protein content were evaluated in 26 alfalfa (Medicago sativa L.) varieties grown under irrigation in the province of Salamanca. In the first year four harvests were made. The dry matter production of the first haverst was the lowest. The annual dry matter production ranged between 8160 kg ha-1 in “Baraka” and 10109 kg ha-1 in “Bar MS 82439”, with a mean value across varieties of 9370 kg ha-1.     A biplex approach to PageRank centrality: from classic to multiplex networks

    In this paper, we present a new view of the PageRank algorithm inspired by multiplex networks. This new approach allows to introduce a new centrality measure for classic complex networks and a new proposal to extend the usual PageRank algorithm to multiplex networks.     CHRNA5 and CHRNA3 variants and level of neuroticism in young adult Mexican American men and women

    A lifetime history of alcohol dependence has been associated with elevations in neuroticism in Mexican American young adults. The identification of genetic markers associated with neuroticism and their influence on the development of alcohol use disorders (AUD) may contribute to our understanding of the relationship between personality traits and the increased risk of AUD in Mexican Americans. The purpose of this study was to investigate associations between neuroticism and 13 single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) in the nicotinic acetylcholine (nAChR) α5-subunit (CHRNA5) and α3-subunit (CHRNA3) genes in young adult Mexican American men and women. Participants were four hundred sixty-five young adult Mexican American men and women who are literate in English and are residing legally in San Diego County. Each participant gave a blood sample and completed a structured diagnostic interview. Neuroticism was assessed using the Maudsley Personality Inventory. The minor alleles of four CHRNA5 polymorphisms (rs588765, rs601079, rs680244 and rs555018) and three CHRNA3 polymorphisms (rs578776, rs6495307 and rs3743078) showed associations with neuroticism. Several of these SNPs also displayed nominal associations with DSM-IV alcohol and nicotine dependence, but tests of mediation suggested that these relations could be partially explained by the presence of co-occurring neuroticism. These findings suggest that genetic variations in nicotinic receptor genes may influence the development of neuroticism, which in turn is involved in the development of AUDs and nicotine dependence in Mexican American young adults

    El artículo analiza las consecuencias de la descapitalización de las cooperativas, por la satisfacción del interés de los socios cooperativistas y por el tratamiento normativo de los recursos propios. Plantea la necesidad de aumentar la competitividad de las cooperativas mediante su capitalización y analiza las distintas fórmulas que las leyes españolas establecen para captar recursos propios. Trata las fórmulas de control que existen en favor de los inversores así como los sistemas de retribución de su capital. Introduce la posibilidad de que el capital riesgo invierta en cooperativas y las experiencias existentes.     Choosing a leader on a complex network

    In many real life applications a group of people interact through a communication network, mathematically modelled as a connected graph linking each element of the group. These participants may have diverse objectives and play very different roles depending on their knowledge and privileges. We focus on a particular scenario, in which a certain node is absolutely essential for completing the intended task. Moreover, if a technical failure results in disconnection of a participant to this leader node, this participant can no longer take part in the group's performance. In this setting a sound choice of the underlying network topology could minimize the damage caused by random or provoked technical failures.
