    Get PDF
This study aims to analyze the implications of linguistic mediation processes and educational proactivity in schools for the socio-educational adaptation of immigrant students. The study is based on empirical research and the perspectives of the main actors: the immigrant students themselves. To this end, a non-experimental and descriptive quantitative methodology was used. The sample consisted of 100 students of foreign origin enrolled in an Italian school located in a typical socio-cultural environment. The results show significant differences in linguistic mediation and socio-educational variables and differences in expectations of progress and social adaptation of students born outside Italy vis-a-vis students who, although born in Italy, are still considered foreigners. It will also analyze teaching proactivity as a communication facilitator for first-generation immigrant pupils born outside Italy. In conclusion, it is noted that, to favor multicultural environments where all students, regardless of their origin, feel accepted, integrated, and welcomed, it is necessary to utilize all available resources to promote improvements in teaching-learning processes and strengthen social relation

Evaluación docente de las clases impartidas con la pizarra táctil en Expresión Gráfica en la Ingeniería

    Get PDF
Ingegra

Schumann resonance data processing programs and four-year measurements from Sierra Nevada ELF station

    Get PDF
In this work, we present to the scientific community the measurements taken during four years, from March 2013 to February 2017 inclusive, by the Extremely Low Frequency Sierra Nevada station, Spain, together with the data processing programs developed in Python (version 3.8) to extract the Schumann resonance (SR) parameters (i.e., amplitudes, resonant frequencies, resonance widths) in 10 min time periods from these records. The measure- ments correspond to the voltage induced by the atmospheric electromagnetic field at the north-south and east- west oriented magnetometers of the station. The process comprises four stages. The spectrum, calibrated in the frequency band ranging from 6 Hz to 25 Hz, is obtained at the first stage using the Welch method with Hann windows. The second step eliminates the anthropogenic noise generated by different undesired sources. Next, a non-linear fit of the measured spectrum combining Lorentzian functions together with a linear term is carried out in order to identify the presence of SRs and quantitatively characterize them. This third step is carried out using the Python package Lmfit, which implements the Levenberg-Marquad algorithm. Finally, a compact and easy-to- read output is generated at the fourth stage, using the power of the Numpy arrays and the npz format. In addition, four Jupyter notebooks with the description of the code and the possibility of their use in interactive mode are presented as supplementary material with this paper

Perfiles de valores interpersonales y análisis de conductas y actitudes sociales de adolescentes

The aims of this study are to identify the interpersonal value profiles and analyze whether there are differences with respect to behavior and social attitude in a sample made up of 885 Compulsory Secondary Education (ESO) students (14-17 years), of whom 49.8% (n = 441) were males and 50.2% (n = 444) were females. The results show the identification of three different interpersonal value profiles corresponding to different levels of antisocial and criminal behavior. Thus the ARL-BCB (high recognition and leadership – low conformity and benevolence) group had the most antisocial and criminal behavior, low levels of social sensitivity, conformity and helpfulness-collaboration, and high levels of dominance, aggressiveness-stubbornness and apathy-isolation. Points that need to be worked on in preventive intervention of antisocial and criminal behavior of students by improving their social attitudes are highlighted.; Los objetivos de este trabajo son identificar los diferentes perfiles de valores interpersonales y analizar si entre ellos, existen diferencias respecto a la conducta y actitud social.

Molecular characterization of the diet of the planktonic community in Málaga Bay (NW Alboran Sea)

    Get PDF
The seasonal changes in structure and functioning of the pelagic trophic web in Málaga Bay (NW Alboran Sea) are related to the annual hydrological cycle. However, time series analyses have shown that the relationship between interannual hydrological variability and the plankton community composition is weak. This might be due to different human-induced pressures (nutrient pollution, coastal fisheries) acting on different compartments of the trophic web. The net effect of all these factors would depend on how the ecosystem channels changes in the composition and abundance of each trophic level. Interactions of phytoplankton-ciliates-zooplankton might have a central role in the regulation of the trophic web in Málaga Bay, although the trophic relations of the dominant groups remain still undefined. In order to identify the dominant trophic relationships we aimed to characterise the diet of key ichthyo- and mesozooplankton species in the field. Given that gut content preys (phyto- and microplankton) are fragile and not easy to identify visually, we developed species-specific molecular markers to detect their presence/absence within the predators gut

Mountain strongholds for woody angiosperms during the Late Pleistocene in SE Iberia

    Get PDF
Mediterranean mountains played an essential role during glacial periods as vegetation refugia. The SE Iberia Late Pleistocene woody angiosperm fossil and floristic evidences are reviewed in the context of phylogeographical studies aiming to identify (i) spatial patterns related to woody angiosperms glacial survival, (ii) structural and functional characteristics of montane refugia, and (iii) gaps in knowledge on the woody angiosperm patterns of survival in Mediterranean mountains. The distribution of palaeobotanical data for SE Iberia refugia has been found to be taphonomically biased due to the scarcity of available and/or studied high-altitude Late Pleistocene sites. However, Siles Lake data together with floristic inference provide evidences for woody angiosperms’ survival in a high-altitude Mediterranean area. The main features boosting survival at montane contexts are physiographic complexity and water availability. Phylogeography studies have mainly been conducted at a continental scale. Although they cohere with palaeobotanical data to a broad scale, a general lack of sampling of SE Iberian range-edge populations, as well as misconceptions about the origin of the populations sampled, impede to infer the proper location of woody angiosperms’ mountain refugia and their importance in the post-glacial European colonisation. We conclude that floristic, geobotanical, palaeobotanical, ethnographical and genetic evidence should be merged to gain a deeper understanding on the role played by Mediterranean mountains as glacial refugia in order to explain the current distribution of many plants and the large biodiversity levels encountered in Mediterranean mountain areas. This is hallmark for effective and efficient conservation and management
