Le mouvement personnaliste français des années 1930 et sa postérité

Au delà de l’association avec Emmanuel Mounier et la Revue Esprit, le mouvement personnaliste français des années 1930 est un mouvement intellectuel et politique dont l’approche n’est pas sans rapport avec le questionnement « moderne » et « postmoderne » des sociétés contemporaines. Durant les années 1930, des jeunes intellectuels « non-conformistes » allaient former divers groupes pouvant être séparés en trois courants : la Jeune Droite, L’Ordre Nouveau et Esprit. On cherche, dans cet essai, à tracer leur parcours idéologique et par ailleurs, à faire un bilan de l’influence historique de ces mouvements personnalistes tant en France qu’à l’échelle internationale.Beyond an affinity with Emmanuel Mounier and Esprit, the French personnalist mouvement of the 1930's was an intellectual and political movement that resembled the modern and post-modern questioning of contemporary societies. GUTs in Type IIB Orientifold Compactifications

We systematically analyse globally consistent SU(5) GUT models on intersecting D7-branes in genuine Calabi-Yau orientifolds with O3- and O7-planes. Beyond the well-known tadpole and K-theory cancellation conditions there exist a number of additional subtle but quite restrictive constraints. For the realisation of SU(5) GUTs with gauge symmetry breaking via U(1)_Y flux we present two classes of suitable Calabi-Yau manifolds defined via del Pezzo transitions of the elliptically fibred hypersurface P_{1,1,1,6,9}[18] and of the Quintic P_{1,1,1,1,1}[5], respectively. To define an orientifold projection we classify all involutions on del Pezzo surfaces. We work out the model building prospects of these geometries and present five globally consistent string GUT models in detail, including a 3-generation SU(5) model with no exotics whatsoever. We also realise other phenomenological features such as the 10 10 5 Yukawa coupling and comment on the possibility of moduli stabilisation, where we find an entire new set of so-called swiss-cheese type Calabi-Yau manifolds. Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation for Severe Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome associated with COVID-19: An Emulated Target Trial Analysis.

RATIONALE: Whether COVID patients may benefit from extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) compared with conventional invasive mechanical ventilation (IMV) remains unknown. OBJECTIVES: To estimate the effect of ECMO on 90-Day mortality vs IMV only Methods: Among 4,244 critically ill adult patients with COVID-19 included in a multicenter cohort study, we emulated a target trial comparing the treatment strategies of initiating ECMO vs. no ECMO within 7 days of IMV in patients with severe acute respiratory distress syndrome (PaO2/FiO2 <80 or PaCO2 ≥60 mmHg). We controlled for confounding using a multivariable Cox model based on predefined variables. MAIN RESULTS: 1,235 patients met the full eligibility criteria for the emulated trial, among whom 164 patients initiated ECMO. The ECMO strategy had a higher survival probability at Day-7 from the onset of eligibility criteria (87% vs 83%, risk difference: 4%, 95% CI 0;9%) which decreased during follow-up (survival at Day-90: 63% vs 65%, risk difference: -2%, 95% CI -10;5%). However, ECMO was associated with higher survival when performed in high-volume ECMO centers or in regions where a specific ECMO network organization was set up to handle high demand, and when initiated within the first 4 days of MV and in profoundly hypoxemic patients. CONCLUSIONS: In an emulated trial based on a nationwide COVID-19 cohort, we found differential survival over time of an ECMO compared with a no-ECMO strategy. However, ECMO was consistently associated with better outcomes when performed in high-volume centers and in regions with ECMO capacities specifically organized to handle high demand. La police dans le système politique

For varions reasons, political scientists hâve so far shown little interest in the police institution. This may seem surprising, as it is not difficult to show that the police phenomenon is at the heart of any society's political organisation. More thorough analysis reveals, however, that thé police intervene in the working of a political system in a great variety of ways and at very different levels of political reality. The best way to look in more detail at the police contribution to the political functioning of society may be to adopt a theoretical approach which generates a systematic check list of police interventions.Pour des raisons diverses, l'institution policière a, jusqu'ici, peu retenu l'attention des politologues. On peut s'en étonner car il n'est pas difficile de montrer que le phénomène policier se trouve au cœur de l'organisation politique d'une société. Toutefois, une analyse plus précise révèle que les interventions de la police dans le fonctionnement d'un système politique peuvent prendre des formes très variables et se situer à des niveaux très divers de la réalité politique. Traitement d'effluents gazeux chargés en composés organiques volatils par oxydation biologique (approche écologique des communautés microbiennes)

Dans le cadre de la réduction des émissions atmosphériques des Composés Organiques Volatils (COV), de nombreux travaux visent à optimiser la gestion des procédés biologiques utilisés pour traiter ces effluents. Ce travail de thèse est axé sur le fonctionnement de la microflore et plus particulièrement sur la mise en place de la communauté microbienne impliquée dans la dégradation des COV (phase d'acclimatation). La caractérisation de la microflore, par l'évaluation de la densité, de la diversité, et de l'activité de biodégradation, a été réalisée au sein d'unités pilotes alimentées par des effluents gazeux contenant onze COV (composés oxygénés, aromatiques et chlorés). Ce travail a notamment mis en évidence que : - la stratégie (fortes concentrations en polluants : 7,7 g.m-3) actuellement employée pour acclimater la flore n'est pas adaptée. - l'élimination des onze composés est associée à une microflore dominante hétérogène. - lors du démarrage, le mode d'introduction des polluants (simultané ou progressif) a peu d'impact sur le fonctionnement des réacteursLYON1-BU.Sciences (692662101) / SudocSudocFranceF
