BIBLIOTERAPIA E LITERATURA INFANTOJUVENIL: UMA PROPOSTA DE HUMANIZAÇÃO DO ESPAÇO HOSPITALAR A PARTIR DA FORMAÇÃO DE LEITORES
Quando internadas, as crianças e os adolescentes tendem a ver o hospital como um local desconhecido, não familiar, no qual passam por tratamentos e exames muitas vezes dolorosos e associam esta experiência a sentimentos como o medo e a insegurança. Nesse sentido, este artigo pretende sustentar que a proposta da Biblioterapia, conceito o qual corrobora a possibilidade da literatura desempenhar uma função de sublimação catártica na medida em que pode aliviar as tensões e a pressão das emoções, enquanto promoção da formação de leitores através da utilização de literatura infantojuvenil. Ao admitir-se como metodologia a possibilidade de terapia por meio da leitura de textos literários, considerando não apenas a leitura de histórias, mas os comentários adicionais a ela, o leitor/ouvinte valer-se-á de poderosos processos mentais - introjeção, projeção e introspecção -, adquirindo, portanto, valor terapêutico. Destarte, buscaremos a partir de uma vasta pesquisa bibliográfica, a afirmação de respostas às quais permitirão visualizar que a inserção da literatura em um espaço doloroso permite a fabulosa expectativa de que o imaginário possa dialogar com a dor e que os aspectos positivos e de esperança possam ser engendrados nesse contexto

Instrumentos para a avaliação do risco de lesões por pressão para adultos em situação crítica: scoping review
Objetivo: mapear los instrumentos para la evaluación del riesgo de lesiones por presión en adultos en situación crítica en una unidad de terapia intensiva; identificar los indicadores de desempeño de los instrumentos y la apreciación de los usuarios con respecto al uso/limitaciones de los instrumentos. Método: scoping review. Para redactar el estudio se utilizó la extensión Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses Extension for Scoping Reviews. La investigación se realizó mediante la herramienta de búsqueda EBSCOhost en 8 bases de datos, resultando 1846 estudios, de los cuales 22 conforman la muestra. Resultados: se identificaron dos grandes grupos de instrumentos: los generalistas [Braden, Braden (ALB), Emina, Norton-MI, RAPS y Waterlow]; y los específicos (CALCULATE, Cubbin & Jackson, EVARUCI, RAPS-ICU, Song & Choi, Suriaidi y Sanada y el índice COMHON). En cuanto al valor predictivo, EVARUCI y CALCULATE mostraron los mejores resultados de indicadores de desempeño. En cuanto a las apreciaciones/limitaciones señaladas por los usuarios, destaca la escala CALCULATE, seguida de la EVARUCI y la RAPS-ICU, aunque aún necesitan ajustes futuros. Conclusión: el mapeo mostró que las evidencias son suficientes para indicar uno o más instrumentos para la evaluación del riesgo de lesiones por presión en adultos críticos en una unidad de cuidados intensivos.Objective: to map the instruments for risk assessment of pressure ulcers in adults in critical situation in intensive care units; identify performance indicators of the instrument, and the appreciation of users regarding the instruments’ use/limitations. Method: a scoping review. We used the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses Extension for Scoping Reviews in the writing of the study. We carried out the searches in the EBSCOhost search tool for 8 databases, resulting in 1846 studies, of which 22 studies compose the sample. Results: we identified two big instrument groups: generalist [Braden, Braden (ALB), Emina, Norton-MI, RAPS, and Waterlow]; and specific (CALCULATE, Cubbin & Jackson, EVARUCI, RAPS-ICU, Song & Choi, Suriaidi and Sanada, and COMHON index). Regarding the predictive value, EVARUCI and CALCULATE presented better results for performance indicators. Pesquisa Nacional sobre Acesso, Utilização e Promoção do Uso Racional de Medicamentos (PNAUM) : métodos do inquérito domiciliar
Objetivo: descrever aspectos metodológicos do inquérito domiciliar da Pesquisa Nacional sobre Acesso, Utilização e Promoção do Uso Racional de Medicamentos (PNAUM) quanto ao desenho e implementação da amostragem e da amostra efetivamente obtida, seus instrumentos e implementação do campo. Métodos: estudo transversal de base populacional com amostra probabilística em três estágios da população residente nos domicílios localizados na zona urbana do Brasil. O trabalho de campo foi desenvolvido entre setembro de 2013 e fevereiro de 2014. O instrumento de coleta de dados incluiu questões relativas a: informações do domicílio, dos moradores e dos entrevistados; doenças crônicas e medicamentos utilizados; uso de serviços de saúde; doenças e eventos agudos tratados com medicamentos; uso de contraceptivos; uso de serviços de farmácia; comportamentos que podem afetar o uso de medicamentos; bulas e embalagens; estilo de vida e planos de saúde. Resultados: foram realizadas 41.433 entrevistas em 20.404 domicílios e 576 conglomerados que correspondem a 586 setores censitários distribuídos nas cinco regiões do Brasil, segundo oito domínios definidos por grupos de idade e sexo. Conclusões: os resultados obtidos no inquérito podem ser utilizados como uma linha de base para futuros estudos que pretendam avaliar o impacto de ações governamentais nas áreas de acesso e de utilização de medicamentos. Para estudos locais que venham a usar um método compatível, a PNAUM pode servir como ponto de referência para avaliação de variações do espaço e da população. Com ampla avaliação dos aspectos relacionados aos medicamentos, a PNAUM é uma grande fonte de dados para as mais variadas análises, que podem ser conduzidas tanto no meio acadêmico como no âmbito governamental.Objective: to describe methodological aspects of the household survey National Survey on Access, Use and Promotion of Rational Use of Medicines (PNAUM) related to sampling design and implementation, the actual obtained sample, instruments and fieldwork. Methods: a cross-sectional, population-based study with probability sampling in three stages of the population living in households located in Brazilian urban areas. Fieldwork was carried out between September 2013 and February 2014. The data collection instrument included questions related to: information about households, residents and respondents; chronic diseases and medicines used; use of health services; acute diseases and events treated with drugs; use of contraceptives; use of pharmacy services; behaviors that may affect drug use; package inserts and packaging; lifestyle and health insurance. Results: in total, 41,433 interviews were carried out in 20,404 households and 576 urban clusters corresponding to 586 census tracts distributed in the five Brazilian regions, according to eight domains defined by age and gender. Conclusions: the results of the survey may be used as a baseline for future studies aiming to assess the impact of government action on drug access and use. For local studies using a compatible method, PNAUM may serve as a reference point to evaluate variations in space and population. With a comprehensive evaluation of drug-related aspects, PNAUM is a major source of data for a variety of analyses to be carried out both at academic and government level
A nontoxic polypeptide oligomer with a fungicide potency under agricultural conditions which is equal or greater than that of their chemical counterparts
Research ArticleThere are literally hundreds of polypeptides described in the literature which exhibit fungicide
activity. Tens of them have had attempted protection by patent applications but none,
as far as we are aware, have found application under real agricultural conditions. The reasons
behind may be multiple where the sensitivity to the Sun UV radiation can come in first
place. Here we describe a multifunctional glyco-oligomer with 210 kDa which is mainly composed
by a 20 kDa polypeptide termed Blad that has been previously shown to be a stable
intermediary product of β-conglutin catabolism. This oligomer accumulates exclusively in
the cotyledons of Lupinus species, between days 4 and 12 after the onset of germination.
Blad-oligomer reveals a plethora of biochemical properties, like lectin and catalytic activities,
which are not unusual per si, but are remarkable when found to coexist in the same protein
molecule. With this vast range of chemical characteristics, antifungal activity arises
almost as a natural consequence. The biological significance and potential technological
applications of Blad-oligomer as a plant fungicide to agriculture, its uniqueness stems from
being of polypeptidic in nature, and with efficacies which are either equal or greater than the

A de novo paradigm for male infertility

Krausz & Keith A. Jarvi.De novo mutations are known to play a prominent role in sporadic disorders with reduced fitness.
We hypothesize that de novo mutations play an important role in severe male infertility and
explain a portion of the genetic causes of this understudied disorder. To test this hypothesis, we
utilize trio-based exome sequencing in a cohort of 185 infertile males and their unaffected parents.
Following a systematic analysis, 29 of 145 rare (MAF < 0.1%) protein-altering de novo mutations
are classified as possibly causative of the male infertility phenotype. We observed a significant
enrichment of loss-of-function de novo mutations in loss-of-function-intolerant genes (p-value =
1.00 × 10−5) in infertile men compared to controls. Additionally, we detected a significant
increase in predicted pathogenic de novo missense mutations affecting missense-intolerant genes
(p-value = 5.01 × 10−4) in contrast to predicted benign de novo mutations. One gene we identify,
RBM5, is an essential regulator of male germ cell pre-mRNA splicing and has been previously
implicated in male infertility in mice. In a follow-up study, 6 rare pathogenic missense mutations
affecting this gene are observed in a cohort of 2,506 infertile patients, whilst we find no such
mutations in a cohort of 5,784 fertile men (p-value = 0.03). Our results provide evidence for the
role of de novo mutations in severe male infertility and point to new candidate genes affecting

SARS-CoV-2 introductions and early dynamics of the epidemic in Portugal
Genomic surveillance of SARS-CoV-2 in Portugal was rapidly implemented by
the National Institute of Health in the early stages of the COVID-19 epidemic, in collaboration
with more than 50 laboratories distributed nationwide.
Methods By applying recent phylodynamic models that allow integration of individual-based
travel history, we reconstructed and characterized the spatio-temporal dynamics of SARSCoV-2 introductions and early dissemination in Portugal.
Results We detected at least 277 independent SARS-CoV-2 introductions, mostly from
European countries (namely the United Kingdom, Spain, France, Italy, and Switzerland),
which were consistent with the countries with the highest connectivity with Portugal.
Although most introductions were estimated to have occurred during early March 2020, it is
likely that SARS-CoV-2 was silently circulating in Portugal throughout February, before the
first cases were confirmed.
Conclusions Here we conclude that the earlier implementation of measures could have
minimized the number of introductions and subsequent virus expansion in Portugal. This
study lays the foundation for genomic epidemiology of SARS-CoV-2 in Portugal, and highlights the need for systematic and geographically-representative genomic surveillance.We gratefully acknowledge to Sara Hill and Nuno Faria (University of Oxford) and

NEOTROPICAL XENARTHRANS: a data set of occurrence of xenarthran species in the Neotropics
Xenarthrans – anteaters, sloths, and armadillos – have essential functions for ecosystem maintenance, such as insect control and nutrient cycling, playing key roles as ecosystem engineers. Because of habitat loss and fragmentation, hunting pressure, and conflicts with 24 domestic dogs, these species have been threatened locally, regionally, or even across their full distribution ranges. The Neotropics harbor 21 species of armadillos, ten anteaters, and six sloths. Our dataset includes the families Chlamyphoridae (13), Dasypodidae (7), Myrmecophagidae (3), Bradypodidae (4), and Megalonychidae (2). We have no occurrence data on Dasypus pilosus (Dasypodidae). Regarding Cyclopedidae, until recently, only one species was recognized, but new genetic studies have revealed that the group is represented by seven species. In this data-paper, we compiled a total of 42,528 records of 31 species, represented by occurrence and quantitative data, totaling 24,847 unique georeferenced records. The geographic range is from the south of the USA, Mexico, and Caribbean countries at the northern portion of the Neotropics, to its austral distribution in Argentina, Paraguay, Chile, and Uruguay. Regarding anteaters, Myrmecophaga tridactyla has the most records (n=5,941), and Cyclopes sp. has the fewest (n=240). The armadillo species with the most data is Dasypus novemcinctus (n=11,588), and the least recorded for Calyptophractus retusus (n=33). With regards to sloth species, Bradypus variegatus has the most records (n=962), and Bradypus pygmaeus has the fewest (n=12). Our main objective with Neotropical Xenarthrans is to make occurrence and quantitative data available to facilitate more ecological research, particularly if we integrate the xenarthran data with other datasets of Neotropical Series which will become available very soon (i.e. Neotropical Carnivores, Neotropical Invasive Mammals, and Neotropical Hunters and Dogs). Therefore, studies on trophic cascades, hunting pressure, habitat loss, fragmentation effects, species invasion, and climate change effects will be possible with the Neotropical Xenarthrans dataset
